Used 2010 Honda Insight Consumer Reviews
Honda releases right car at right time!
I had been researching this car for months so I had the first chance at the car when it arrived. I knew after the first drive that it was mine. Driving in town, merging into traffic, and interstate driving all are pleasing. Considering the horsepower it is amazing the power and fun quotient this car has(similar but better than the Fit). After driving the first 100 miles in town on hilly terrain, I put it on a short trip of an additional 135 mile interstate trip and filled up. Mileage for this first combined trip was 44 MPG. Returning I got an amazing 54 MPG using the Eco-drive feature which is helpful and fun to use. Honda has really brought the right car to market at the right time!
First month in the books
Bought mine this month, after running an old Ford Focus into the ground. First tank of gas returned 46 mpg in mixed driving, in ECO mode, with AC mostly on. And I have learned quite a bit in these last few weeks about driving in a way that maximizes fuel efficiency. I think 50+ regular is well within reach. I am 6'5", and have little trouble getting in a comfortable driving position. Thankfully, I don't tote anyone around the back seat (which is one of the reasons for choosing the car in the first place). Not much room back there. I know there are complaints about road noise, but in comparison with my previous car (a 2002 Ford Focus), this Insight is a vault at highway speeds.

Nice for the price but needs improvement
Very low depreciation makes lease payments as low as much cheaper entry level vehicles. Build quality is better then other cars under $20k but still needs improvement. The rubber weather strip molding along the roof keep falling off. The body panels seem to be very delicate. Just stare at them and they'll get a ding. I feel like it won't age well. The paint finish is just OK. I noticed several imperfections while waxing it. The interior is nice but again, doesn't seem to be hard wearing. The Auto Stop is annoying and despite the many custom settings in the computer, it cannot be disabled. Steering wheel blocks the view of the digital speedo.
I love it
I have had mine a week - already getting 45.2 mpg. I've been driving SUV's and thought it would be hard to go back to a car, but I love it. This is my first purchase, usually lease, but I know I'll have this for a long time!
good car
I got mine for 2 months already. Love the fuel economy. I was able to do avg of 50 mpg, compare to my previous rav4, I do average of 60-70 miles daily to work. I should save $1000 per year on gas, nice small vacation trip with that saving. The car is good as transportation to work, but don't expect to do any racing with it, since the horse power on this car is very small. Love the car.
