Don't waste your money on a Honda Accord!

After owning a 1996 Accord EX-L 5-speed manual from 12/95 - 2/3/18 that gave me little trouble, I was told it wasn't worth fixing. I purchased the new 2018 Accord Sport 2.0 6-speed manual after only one test drive. Stupid me to expect Honda to still make a quality car that would last and I would enjoy driving for the next 20 years. I WANT TO SELL THIS CAR ASAP! First of all, no local dealerships had the 2.0 sport with 6 speed manual in gray. It was 12/31/17 and everyone was too busy selling to "find and order" a car for me. The only dealership that said it could was Larry Miller in Spokane and I lived near Seattle! We negotiated for a long time. The only thing we didn't negotiate was timing! It took them over a month to get the car! When they got the car, the salesman and sales manager had ordered the wrong color! Problem #2, 3, 4 +. I decided to take the small discount they offered. They cheated me and put in the wrong mats for the back seat and trunk and the car was disgustingly dirty! The road noise is so bad that if anyone is in the back seat, we can't speak unless we are almost yelling. I can't hear the radio so I keep turning up the volume which is bad for my hearing! I agree with others that I can hear others on the hands free, but I have to have my dial set at 40 and sometimes they still can't hear me! The seals on my doors are so bad that water and dirt leaks into the painted area on the body of the car when the door is open. Those bad seals let cold air into the car which makes my legs and feet cold. The heat has gone out somehow so that the down arrow setting doesn't work so all I have is cold air from the seals and some warm, but not hot (I have the setting on high heat 99% of the time, but it doesn't work) air blowing at my body or the front windshield drying out my contacts! I think sometime in October it really got bad and after finally taking it in yesterday, they tell me Honda of Kirkland, WA "Can't replicate any of my problems! Somehow the heating system inside the car is hurting the defrost of the front windshield and even though I keep them very clean, I have to alternate turning on the button for defrost only in the front or the a/c on and off every 2-3 minutes as the windshield fogs up! However, with colder weather another new problem is happening! If my car is frosted over in the driveway and I start it and turn on the defrost for the front and back windows, 10 minutes or more later when I come out, the front IS defrosted, but the back windshield has barely started to defrost and I only have a little tiny spot in the middle of the back window that is starting to defrost, the rest of the window is striped and stays that way for another 10 minutes at least! I paid extra for the 2.0 only because I wanted the moon roof. The stated mileage was 22-32. My average to date is 24.5 and I have to work to get that number by putting the car in neutral on any down areas of hills in town and a lot of times on the freeway! I almost always have my screen on trip and mileage to see where I am so I can decide to put the car in neutral to go slower on my road coasting into my driveway! My touch-screen in late October-early November went black for 2.5 weeks + and I had no idea what my mileage was until yesterday. When it came back on, I had no total mileage anywhere! That was one of my complaints and so the Honda Service guy pressed the "trip" button to the left of the steering wheel, but it didn't put the number back on the touch-screen! "We couldn't replicate your problems today!" The car drove somewhat smoothly until sometime in June and then it started running "rough" and the steering wheel shakes all the time! Normal, I'm told?! The front hood of my car shakes up near the windshield on the freeway which my old Honda didn't!! When I took the car in for the first oil change, I noticed that the front hood where it opens up was out of alignment from the factory! It was fixed some, but it is still not a straight line with a consistent reveal!! I pressure wash both Accords. Turns out the front edge of the hood area is plastic unlike the 96 and I have 2 quarter sized paint areas that suddenly came off! My back up camera went black - per the recall and I hit the curb on the back right rim. No help with that either today. The sport 2.0 seats are not fully leather. There was no scotch guard on the seats at all and last summer swimming and coming home from the pool sitting on towels, we have stains all over the front seats. Has anyone ever tried to wash the inside back window? The hard plastic rakes your knuckles and really hurts! I feel like the front driver seat is low and I have to kind of push myself up and over being 5'2" to get in and out and it feels like the left side of the sport shape of the seat is already breaking down! I'm down to two days of the warranty and nothing has been fixed. I will NEVER buy a Honda vehicle again. BUYER BEWARE!!

When I was in the market to buy a car, a stick and a sunroof were the two top things on my list. Enter 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T 6M. There are so many things I love about this car. The seats are firm, but comfortable and it has lots of legroom! I love the new touch screen; so so much better than what was in previous Accords. The AAC and LKA are super handy and I use them all the time. This car also gets great fuel mileage—averages 29 mpg in city and 33 on highway. I could get even better but I tend to drive a little more on the aggressive side. Also love the exterior styling of this Accord…super sharp rims, awesome headlights, and really just everything. And it’s so much fun to drive! I go places as often as I can just for an excuse to drive it. Seriously people if you’re thinking about getting a car like this, do. Just do. You won’t regret it.
