You don't get what you pay for

I purchased a 2018 Honda Accord and I had a really bad experience. The features do not work. -My computer would reboot while driving -Drop my phone Bluetooth connection -Stop music playback for no reason -Collision sensor went off all the time even when sitting at a light -Volume would stop working or re-adjust on its own with the setting turned off -Backup guidelines stopped working with the option turned on A myriad of inconsistencies with the technology. I took it in 3 times. The first 2 times they said I didn't know how to use the technology. The 3rd time I didn't accept that answer and the service coordinator hung up on me. I paid a lot of money for those features. Honda acknowledged that there was a low voltage issue but instead of replacing the faulty parts they kept resetting the sensor.

Touring 1.5 EXL 2018

The ride is low. Takes some getting used to as I had an Accord EXL for 15 years no maintanence issues ever, and never issues getting out of front seat. Scuffed brand new rims within 3 weeks which dealer fixed under my wheel and rim insurance. *** Note: Touring has low profile tires which are easier to scuff*** But they handle well in snow and rain. Watch for those potholes!! I was VERY concerned about that but have since hit a few craters hard, with no issues so far. (phew) This concerned me and had buyers remorse for about 6 months. I’m used to the car a year later and enjoy my commute. Had front driver strut/suspension replaced due to “bottoming out” after a month owning. Dealer was great. Free loaner and made sure I was happy with repair. No issues. HUD area “squeaks” in hot weather. Needs a sugar packet between vinyl and acrylic screen! Dealer says entire dash needs to be removed. It needs a rubber spacer or something.....not taking my dash apart. Highway mileage 38-40 mpg open road no traffic.Fill up half as much as I used to with the 4 cylinder vs EXL-V6. Miss my old Accord but so far this one is great to drive and feel safer having the newer technology.

Compared the 2017 and 2018 Honda Accords and went with the 2018 based on a few things. First was MPG, the 2018 is rated at 35 Highway vs 27 for the 2017. Sure, dropping to a 4-cylinder helped, but performance is just fine. 2018 has a LOT more leg room and storage since they expanded the wheelbase. Trim is nicer and technology is better. Gone are the rightside video cams - replaced with the blindspot warning signals. Radio/Navigation controls are much larger and more visible and easier to view. Overall, the 2018 won out over the 2017. My disappointment was I now have to buy PREMIUM gasoline so the MPG savings is eaten up by gas price increase. A bit disappointed with the connectivity to my iphone and the console. Some functions connect via bluetooth while others need a physical hard wire USB connection. That's just annoying. I like the lane departure function as well as the Adaptive Cruise Control which lets me set a speed and distance to the car in front of me - VERY nice on a highway full of cars. The radio/navigation display, though VERY large can be a distraction when you're trying to go from one thing (navigation) to another (radio). Lots of buttons to discern and takes your eyes off the road. Thank goodness for that lane departure safety feature! The auto climate control never seems to be happy. I set it at a temperature (70) and I feel cold air blowing at times and warm at others. Riding comfort is fantastic with the heated and COOLED leather seats! I run hot, so I REALLY wanted the cooling seats which pushed me over the top to go with the touring package. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and hope I get the 9+ years that I got out of my Honda Civic! ***UPDATE 5/29/18**** So I've owned this vehicle now for 7 months and put almost 11,000 miles on it. I lowered my initial ratings based on several issues. First off, this is a nice car, no doubt, but I am not in love with it. I do not fall in love with inanimate objects, so this purchase was based strictly on facts and creature comforts. I had high hopes for this vehicle, but after driving it for a while, I would NOT buy it again. My primary reason is this - the handling in inclement weather STINKS! It is terrible! The slightest slush/snow mixture on the road, and the confidence level of handling is gone. The adaptive CC and crash mitigation features basically SHUT DOWN with the slightest build up of snow/slush on the front sensor (and that happens frequently!) Once that sensor is compromised, you have warning sounds firing off continuously, and I have yet to figure out how to shut them off. The bumper sensors are also annoying. I can be stopped in traffic or at a light, with NO OTHER MOVING vehicles, and I'll suddenly get a warning of an approaching object! This happens frequently. I've also had a screen pop up a few times saying "Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, See Your Dealer" for no reason at all. After a reboot of my car (turn it off and back on), the screen disappears and does not show up again. The rear back up camera is great as long as the weather is clear. Once there is the slightest rain, forget about using it as it's nothing but a huge blur on the screen. The suspension is also lousy. The thin "touring tires" take bumps and potholes like craters channeling those encounters throughout the vehicle. I don't know why it's so bad now as it seemed that during my test drive, it took bumps pretty well. So that wraps up my review update. I would definitely NOT but this vehicle again. It is clear that Honda does not have all the new technology under control and that really disappoints me. How can I rely on this technology to do what it is supposed to do, especially in a life threatening situation, when it can't even operate normally under regular circumstances? UPDATE 7/9/18 So after owning this vehicle for seven months I have decided to trade it in for a CR-V. I must say that based solely on my discomfort in the driving handling in inclement weather and the many problems I had with the technology features, moving to the CR-V was the BEST solution for me. As I said, the Accord was a very comfortable and luxurious car, but when it come to my safety and my relying on my vehicle to get me through bad weather, that trumps all. I know there are many Accord owners out there that probably love their vehicle, but I for one will never buy another! Living in the northeast, safety and driving in bad weather are key elements in making a purchasing decision when it comes to my vehicles. Unfortunately this was an expensive mistake I made, and I certainly learned from it. Honda still has quite a ways to improve their safety technology and "driver" assisting features, not to mention they need to relocate the radar sensor from way down in the front of the car where snow and muck just build up incredibly fast to a more sensible location higher up the grill. That was just pure stupid engineering.

Super loud on highway, otherwise great car

This car would be 5 stars if not for the insane road and tire noise at highway speeds. I have the 1.5 Touring. I test drove this car extensively and thought the noise level would be acceptable. Boy was I wrong. Just got back from a 120 mile round trip on good roads where you could do 75 mph and I'm sorry to say that the road noise is totally unacceptable. I believe this is from the 19 inch wheels combined with the factory tires, as it mostly sounds like tire noise. There is no wind noise to speak of and no b-pillar noise like on by previous accord. I would say the cabin is generally quieter than last generation, but once you get on the highway that is clearly not the case. Crazy that there was no option for a 17 wheel on the Touring. My only other issue is that the Car Play quit working after a week. I did some research online and this seems to be an issue with the new model with no fix yet. Will be back at the dealership this week to see. Otherwise, the adaptive suspension rides great and the car is fun to drive. The sound quality of the stereo is significantly better than last generation, but you won't be able to tell on the highway.

I'd owned two previous Honda cars and was very pleased with both of them. I've only had this car for six months and am totally unhappy with it. It has a squeak in the dashboard which, I've found out, is a known issue. Now the dealer is wanting to take the whole dash off which I don't think should happen with a new car. They've already had it one time for this same issue. Also, the display on the screen has gone blank twice, once while I was driving out of town and badly needed directions. Also, the voice dialing absolutely won't call the person I call the most from my car. How is this good? My old Honda CRV at least would do that. I think I've bought a very expensive dud.
