XL for empty nesters
This is a big SUV that doesn't feel big when driving. Easy to park and has a small turning radius. We often have our kids and grandkids with us and routinely haul 7 people in this and love the legroom and cargo room with everyone on board. The ride and quiet cabin are spectacular and the fuel mileage is better than expected. Has tons of torque and pulling our 4,000 lb boat is effortless. It is easy to back the boat up too with large mirrors and good backup camera. Like the auto leveling rear shocks. My only disappointment in the vehicle is GM's decision to eliminate the ability to pause and rewind live radio that my previous vehicles had. This was available before 2016 but GM eliminated it which is a shame. My 2015 GMC Canyon had this feature but a $70,000 vehicle doesn't. Doesn't make sense! Had trouble with torque converter clutch but dealer was able to resolve with fluid flush and new transmission fluid type. Problem caused shudder or vibration in 8th gear that felt like going over rumble strips. RPM fluctuated between 1600 and 1800 when TCC clutch was not happy. Downshifting into 7th gear would eliminate problem at the expense of poorer gas milage. Problem started at 16,000 miles. Have 17,000 miles on it now and problem is gone after fluid flush and change. Car is very quiet and subsequently any rattles are heard very easily. Chased a problem with a rattling/popping noise that sounded like is was coming from the right side dash area. Disassembled many components inside the glove box/dash area looking for it and finally found the noise was coming from the right front inner fender well! The noise could be duplicated by standing on and off the front part of the running board. The noise was from a loose spot weld on inner fender metal. Placing a section of close cell foam under panel solved the noise! Fixed by owner! Still not happy with GMC 22" wheels that cause harsh and rough ride. 22" wheels should not be an option on this car! Changed to Michelin Defender tires and solved vibration problems with original Bridgestone Dueler tires but this 22" size tire has low profile sidewalls which contributes to tires not absorbing bumps well and transmitting the bumps to the passengers. Car would ride much smoother on 18" or maybe 20" wheels. These wheels were a $2,400 option from GMC and it was a waste of money in my opinion. They are also very hard to keep clean and not very happy with the chrome plastic inserts on the wheels. Just learned the owner can't rotate tires and reset TPMS system without a special tool! This tool should be included with a $70,000 vehicle. Unfortunate that a simple routine simple maintenance task can't be accomplished without the $100 tool or a trip to the dealer or tire shop. If the TPMS system is not updated after wheel rotation, tire positions will not agree with dash display in the event of a tire problem. Have recent issue with powered running boards installed by GMC. They fail to extend when doors are opened occasionally. Both sides are affected. They have been lubricated and problem still exists. Car sits very high on 22” wheels and the running boards are critical for wife or kids to get in. Dealer service visit scheduled to diagnose/repair. Finally got dealer to recognize my intermittent running board problem by taking multiple video captures when they failed to extend or retract. They replaced the motors on both sides and they are now working normally. Torque converter clutch shudder returned at 35,000 miles. Dealer replaced trans fluid with a newer updated fluid that doesn’t absorb moisture. Problem has been resolved for now, again! Noticed leaking left axle seal while rotating tires. Taking back to dealer again to repair! Too bad the dealer didn’t notice this problem while changing trans fluid a week earlier! Still love the car and there is nothing comparable in the marketplace. Average MPG on Hwy is 23 and 19 around town. Added oil "catch can" at 37,000 miles and cleaned intake manifold and valves prior to addition. The catch can captures about 4 oz of breather oil every 4,000 miles. Running Amsoil Signature 0W-20 oil full synthetic with once a year change. Catch can should be installed when new to keep intake valves and manifold clean. GDI engines are prone to carbon buildup on valves due to design.

Dependable, easy to drive, never a problem.
I've owned this car for 4 years and it's been, by far, the most reliable car I've ever had. Not one problem. I bought it specifically for the space. It replaced a Ford Excursion, which was large, but gave me nothing but problems. The Yukon is sightly more difficult for me to park, but aside from that, it's a terrific family car. I highly recommend bucket seats in the second row: you'll want to keep this car long after the kids get big and they eventually won't like climbing over the seat. Adults fit just fine in the third row (wouldn't be my first choice, but it will do in a pinch). The only down side is that you'll be stuck driving for every out-of-town trip.

Electrical nightmare / general poor reliability
Over 15 visits to repair electronics. Random faults would appear and had to replace electrical harnesses in the first year. Replaced front wheel bearings after less than 1 year. Continual reprogramming of software. Electronic transmission was erratic and took 3 times to repair. For almost $80K very disappointed. Traded fo Infiniti QX 80

My3rd Large GM SUV is most expensive and worst yet
This is my 3rd Large GM SUV after having a 2001 Tahoe and 2012 Suburban (both of which I love) and owning it has been an absolute nightmare. I've had 6 different warranty issues and the car has spent 21 of the first two months I owned it in Dealership service for warranty work. If I could give "0" stars I would. Issues have been paint related in three areas, a recurring steering column scratch, a water leak in the rear hatch, an electrical short causing the doors not to lock, a squeak in the rear of the vehicle, and a kinked trim piece in the steering wheel assembly. Three of the issues still exist and I am pursuing lemon law protection. I've reached out to GMC multiple times who have not been able to provide any meaningful support. Steer clear - GM quality has taken a steep decline. In my experience dealerships are unwilling or unempowered to help and GM Corp doesn't appear to be willing to stand behind their product. This has been the most regrettable purchase of my life.

Think twice!
We bought this vehicle because we love the yukon Denali's. We replaced a 2009 Denali. Unfortunatly the price does not reflect the quality. We paid just under $85,000 out the door for our loaded Denali XL. We knew going in that there could be transmission problems because of other reviews. What we didn't know is that everything in this vehicle is cheaply made. It shows nice but is only "skin deep", and it has very thin skin. We are very disappointed in almost ever aspect of this vehicle, when you pay $85k for a vehicle you have certin expectations. It is on it's way back to the dealership for it's 3rd warranty work, on the engine ( same 6.2 from 2007-2014 ) we don't even mention the deterioating leather and low quality of materials to thhe dealer. Oh and the Yukon only has 21,000 miles so far. We are planning on selling it at this point, probably go to Toyota, BMW, or Mercedes-Benz for quality, GMC isn't cutting it for the price tag they want.

Very Disappointed in GMC YUKON
At 53,000 miles the luggage rack came loose and would hit the top on the Yukon and sound like someone hit it with a big boulder. It wasn’t covered under the warranty or Ext warranty. The dealer did talk to GMC and it cost us $100.00 instead of $1200.00 but instead of replacing with the Chrome Railing like it had they replaced it with solid black. Also, the control panel that is on the front window fell off and messed up the automatic lights as well as the cruise control. The seat belt would not retract after we picked it up at the dealer after they fixed the roof rails/luggage rack. So, back in the shop. Very disappointed after paying over $60,000.00 for a vehicle that continues to have problems! It’s was our first GMC and our LAST GMC!!! We have friends that has had some of the same issues with.

Big solid comfort
I purchased a 2018 Yukon XL SLT with the Open Road and Premium Edition packages. It is a very large vehicle, solid, comfortable, luxurious, and can carry 7 people AND their luggage. The only time I feel I’m driving a big SUV is when it comes to parallel parking or entering parking garages. It is incredible on long road trips. The XL is rock solid, great seats, and a quiet comfortable ride.
A Fancy Suburban
This is a very comfortable SUV. The Denali 6.2 engine is worth the extra cost. It is very responsive and has good gas mileage. I get 17 mpg around town (not too many stoplights) and I get 21+ mpg on highway running at 76 mph. The on board computer is optimistic about gas mileage, telling me I get about 1 mile per gallon more than I really get by my own measurements over several long trips. Nevertheless I get better gas mileage than most pickup trucks and many smaller SUVs. Cargo area is not as good as my old Suburban and the second row seats do not fold flat--a problem if you haul a lot. With the Denali 6.2 the car drives and handles very well--this is a fast SUV. Developed a transmission problem at 26,000 miles: thumping and ratcheting. Dealer service rep said he knew what is was and changed transmission fluid and filter free. Truck works well now, but makes me wonder what the problem really was. My last Suburban had three transmissions; I hope I am not on the same track again. City mileage has slipped to 16, but I got 22 mpg on a 110 mile trip today. The transmission is working fine now. Ops! At just under 100,000 miles the fancy magnetic shock absorbers started leaking; new ones cost me $4,000 for the four of them. No choice but to repair since new cars are expensive and difficult to find now. The shock absorber thing is a real rip off. The truck required a second transmission put in at about 150,000. No surprise as GM uses a cheap, no good transmission that is too light duty for a full sized truck. Meanwhile still getting good service out of the truck since putting thousands of dollars in upkeep. If you buy one of these get rid of at at the end of warranty, or else bend over and take it. Now over 200K. Truck is running well at the moment, but needed a new horn. In order to replace the horn, the dealer had to remove the whole front bumper assembly. It was a costly bumper bummer. If you need the space and hauling then this truck is worth the pain involved in upkeep, otherwise get a Toyota or KIA.

Dumped it after 6 months
Bought this SUV brand new. Loved the ride height, power, and engine sound. We have 4 small kids. The only way to change the rear zone temp is from the rear. My kids were in car seats, and too young to manage the controls anyway. Bad design. Heat was either on or off, couldn't adjust temp. After five weeks the rear view camera stopped working every third time we put it in reverse. GMC replaced center console 3 times and it never fixed. I told them it must be a wiring issue but they said that is too hard and expensive to try to fix. It was a brand new truck! They told me they were going to charge me $3200. The truck was a few months old at that point, and I had bought it brand new from that dealer with 10 miles on it. After 5 months a plasticky smell started coming from heat. Dealer could not find anything wrong and said it must have been our fault and they were done. Lost a good bit of money but traded it in for another Sienna minivan. So much happier again.
Impressed! And still Impressed!
I had narrowed it down to the GMC Yukon SLT and the up coming Armada/QX80 and Ford Expedition. I was impressed with the interior and ride, and it cost less. The styling was also something that I preferred over the Nissan products and some of the features. Such as; Adjustable Pedals, lower rear end gear ratio on the HD tow package, easier to get into third row seat, proven engine and 6 speed auto, standard 18" wheels ( better for towing) and interior lay out. My wife is so happy with the Yukon, that I think she would live in it. I have now had this Yukon for 36 months, still love it! No problems so far. I am much happier with the 5.3L then I would the Ford 3.5 twin turbo. I felt the Ford engine would not holdup in the long run against the tried and true V8. Update 10/2/2019. Recently I had a problem with a wearing spot on the leather drivers seat. I contacted local dealer and GMC and they replaced the seat bottom, it took about two weeks but I was very pleased with both GM and the dealer on how they handled this problem without giving me any guff. Just returned from a 3 week road trip. I was very pleased with the comfort, the adaptive cruise control and heated/cooled seats and the quiet ride. My wife loved watching the overhead DVD player with our FireStick. Even at speeds up to 80mph. I got 22.9 miles per gallon.

I Love my Yukon XL
I had a 1996 GMC Suburban for 20 years and thought I would never like the Newer Yukon XL Well I was wrong it's a technology filled Beast that is easy to drive and it's like sitting in your living room easy chair driving down the highway. The ride is a bit rougher than my Old Suburban because of the 22" wheels but looks sharp and not too much of a sacrifice, I did not think I needed all of the technology but find myself using most of it.

A piece of junk
Since 2016 up until today's date I have had my 2016 Yukon XL Denali 10 times...the liner was falling from the roofs few months after I bought it, sunroof had to be repaired no.the after I bought it, the whole computer brain went out months into the purchase, left tail light and now my right, the AC I. The passagers chairs AC is out,my AC period is out, the handle paint started chipping and it was replaced but chipping again plus my manifold melted and I get to get stuff done. All new 4 tires...just garbage.

Third Yukon
This is my third GMC Yukon (01 SLT, 07 Denali, 2017 SLT). This truck by and far is head and shoulders above the rest. The ride is amazing, the amenities phenomenal, and the look is impressive. The only knocks I will give are the headlights and exhaust. There is no reason for a 60k vehicle with practically all LED lighting inside and out, not to have HID headlights. The halogens cheapen the look. Granted you can get higher intensity halogens, or switch out the system completely to HID, but it would be nice to have it done at the factory. Of course, the Denali comes equipped with HID headlights, but in this day and age, should halogens even be on the table? Next is the exhaust. As soon as looked under the rear and saw the cheap looking exhaust system I knew I had to make a switch. While there are a million exhaust companies out there, I wanted to find something that balanced performance with a classy look. By chance I read that Borla makes exhaust systems for GM trucks/ SUV's. I ordered one, had it installed (super easy since its custom made for that vehicle), and love it. It looks great and sounds better.

Never GM
What you need to know is at 86,000 to 100,000 this vehicle is garbage. They know it and I would drive another. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty. It is so bad the warranty doesn’t even try to get out of paying. The two fuel injectors died at 60K. The transmission died at 98k and the engine is being replaced at 102k. No, I don’t tow or haul anything. Trash!!! It doesn’t deserve 1 star.

Switched from DENALI XL to YUKON XL
I purchased a new Yukon XL DENALI in 2010 and drove it for 327,000+ miles (original engine) until 4Q2019, when reliability became an issue, but I am still keeping it for a back up. When I looked at the price of a new Yukon XL DENALI, I took a real close look at the Yukon XL and purchased a 2018 with 20,000 miles on it. For sure, this was the right decision; cost was $35,000+ less than a new DENALI XL. For me, the ONLY meaningful difference between the two is that instead of All-Wheel Drive, all the time, I manually switch from 2WD in good weather to 4WD in bad weather; DO NOT USE AUTO, because of wear on transmission. No question: 2 year old YUKON XL with 20,000 miles or less, with warranty still on to 36,000 miles is THE BEST VALUE!
Love It So Far
I love the on board computer for the driver. Coming home from a golf trip right after we got the car, I averaged 29 MPG on the highway for 25 miles. If you drive it smoothly, you will get good gas mileage. All the USB outlets are awesome for traveling with phones and ipads. I am surprised at how small the glove box is for such a large vehicle and I wish the cup holders were bigger. I have read reviews of people complaining about the sluggish gas pedal, but that does not bother me one bit. This is a large SUV, I am not driving it like a sports car.

Smooth Ride
We bought our 2016 GMC SLT certified a year old, we were aware of the electric/electronic issues the car was known to have, so we purchased a bumper to bumper warranty. We have now had it over 5 years, it has 80k mi and we have driven several road trips including one across the U.S. The 31 gallon gas tank makes road trips a breeze. It is easy to drive, very smooth, powerful, very roomy and comfortable with all the bells and whistles you would want. Its great on gas for the size of vehicle, we love it. We have had a few temporary glitches with the cameras, and radio. But nothing major. We have had to replace the heated seat elements on 2 rows of seats, and a rear taillight, that were thankfully were covered under our extended warranty. The AC compressor just went out around 78k mi and was a 850$ Repair. We previously owned a Land Rover LR3 which had a LOT of problems and was a money pit. Overall we are still very happy with our purchase, there is no other suv out there I would want over it.

Tried and True Mover
What a pack horse the 2019 GMC Yukon XL. We rented this pack mule because it would carry more clothes, kitchen items and boxes upon boxes of shoes plus the dog and cat crates, food, toys, snacks and the animals themselves for a 12 hour ride from Washington to Chicago. We did the trip in one day to avoid having to deal with animal refusals from hotels. We moved on from DC north to I 270, I 70 toI 76 and finally I 80/90 to Chicago. The 2019 Yukon was flawless, it did not hesitate on acceleration and loved to hug the road between 70 & 80 mph, passing on hills up and down in PA with ease. This Yukon was loaded from back to front with immediate items needed for us and the cat and dog, also baskets of food and animal toys too. This Yukon XL was amazing, it had 3 soft leather seats, great communication ports and the heart of an engine that left all drivers smiling for its Wonderfull ride and it’s capacity to hug the road and not be intimidated by the big rigs. Our mileage was TERRIFIC! We averaged 22.4 mpg through the PA Hills on I 70. Once on level land the big packed Yukon XL moved along at 70-80 mph. This stretch lasted for hours and when we filled our tank, our mileage ranged from 22.4 to 25.6 in a full size Yukon XL traveling at a comfortable rate of speed and passing many trucks, tractor trailers, busses , motor homes and the big foreign luxury cars. This Yukon was the best full size SUV I have driven and I can’t wait to see the 2021. But, it you can’t wait for the 2021 SUVs from GM, get down to your dealer now to get the 2019 leftovers or the new 2020s They are the best large SUVs in the world. I can’t wait for the new 2021s to come on the market. They better be good because Suburban and Yukon overs will die clutching the steering wheel.

Very annoying vibration at 70 mph
Very annoying vibration over the entire vehicle, especially the steering wheel, at 70 mph. The steering wheel would shake my arms. The vehicle was also very poor at absorbing road bumps. Very jolty and jumpy. Strange noise from front transaxle when in auto all wheel drive especially when making 90 degree turns at slow speed. This noise is much worse in four wheel drive. Poor grip from the front wheels in four wheel drive in snow. 35,000 miles. Took it to the dealer for service. They told me it was wear in the tires. They suggested that I replace tires with only 35,000 miles on them. There was no visible wear in the tires. Then I googled the problem and found out there have been numerous complaints dating back to at least 2015 about vibration at 70 mph. GMC is aware of the problem. Dealers have given other customers the run around on the issue and failed to fix it. Nobody at my dealer service department mentioned to me that this was a well known problem with the vehicle. Surely they had heard of this complaint before. Yet they told me to replace these very expensive tires. I read about owners who replaced numerous components in an unsuccessful attempt to stop the vibration. I realized based on my research that this vibration was here to stay. This is unacceptable for an $80,000 vehicle. So I just traded my 15 month old GMC Yukon XL Denali with 35,000 miles. I knew that my service department would not honestly deal with the problem. I read one opinion online that the vibrations occur because the frame was made too stiff in order to increase the strength of the frame for safety reasons. I hate to think of the money I lost. But I wasn't going to keep making $1,000 monthly payments on an SUV that was so unpleasant to drive on the highway and couldn't competently handle the snow. I owned a 2010 Yukon XL Denali before this one. The engine blew up at 100,000 miles and had to be replaced. My patience for GMC just ran out. Never again will I buy a GMC.

Love this vehicle so far. The biggest drawback is the navigation system: it is inaccurate and out of date by 10 years. I have resorted back to using my Garmin for accurate trip info... Other than the GPS system we love the vehicle.

2016 GMC Yukon XL,
This is a great vehicle. It is comfortable on long trips at least for the driver. The back seat is tight, but right now some of the kids are small. We have 8 people in our family so we got the 9 seater which gives us one extra space. I'm very happy with the vehicle's road noise, comfort, power, and AWD/4x4 in the winter. This would be my wish list on the next re-design though: I would love to see a "well" in the back cargo space area like in minivans. I know it can't be too deep because of the spare tire, but anything would be helpful. This would naturally increase the cargo capacity, plus things wouldn't roll out when you are on an incline (soccer balls, cantaloupes, watermelons, etc.) Perhaps they could put a faux floor that could come out or stay in depending on the needs of the owner. Also, this is crazy, and maybe I'm the only one to think of this, but I would love to see sliding doors on the suburban/yukon. It's a beast to park, and if you actually have kids like we do, no one is allowed to open doors until we open them for them. If the sliders were there like on a mini van, it would be the ultimate family vehicle. I know a lot of people buy these with small families in mind so it's probably not a big deal to them. And, the running boards are slippery when wet. Could it be possible to put a different coating on them? In any case, it's a great car and I'm glad to have it. GM, what do you think of the ideas?

yukon xl slt prem edition
So, I chose he NON denali model. Heres why....No magnetic ride control, no air shocks on rear, no power running boards. Why? long term having owned an esclade these items fail and when the fail outside of warranty they are very expensive to have fixed. This model is basically the poor mans version of the Denail. It offers all the bells and whitles I need. Front heated cooles seats rear heated seats, capt chairs, two over head tvs, same dash as the Denali on board wifi. Power rear seat and rear folding seats. Guys for the money you get the best of both worlds. This engine 5.3l gets respectable milage, 20's. Got the nice chrome 22 wheels. I removed the factory tires and put Michillens on to get rid of the nagging vibration, FIXED ! The only thing you want to watch for is your buying one used make sure the ac condenser has been replaced !!!! Its a KNOWN problem. Mine was done under warranty before I got it. Ive had no issues. The only other thing is do the maintenance !!! Ive not had any issues with it. I can go almost 600 miles on a tank of fuel outstanding !! I only run 93, it says you can run 87 but the motor and throttle responace is better on 93. LIsten this is a 70K truck so if you cant swing the $70-80 fill ups you out to not own one. Its fantastic for trips and every day drive, smooth quite super comfy and technoligy loaded. But again I only wanted the Yukon XL Slt Prem Edition which is a close to a Denali you can get less the BS suspension crap and pwr running boards. Folks regular old struts and shocks. The only regret is I wish it had the 3.42 rear end vs 3.08 gearing for towing. the 3.08 is ok, but 3.42 would be better suited for hills. It pulls fine, but having towed for 20+ years the 3.42 would be a heck of a lot better. Will it pull a 5500lb boat yep. Will it pull your cargo toy hauler yep. And all if you can keep your foot out of the motor a respectable 15-18mpg. Stay away from 15,16, models too many problems. The 6 speed transmission is a good transmission if serviced on a regular basis, which Ive had not issues. gm says every 45K id do 30K. Im on my second trans service and no problems. 60K basic of trouble free driving Oh and DONT drive the 4wd in auto mode it kills the transfer case and transmission it beats it death with on off. Just drive it in 2wd when you need 4wd put it in 4WH and call it a day.

Good on paper. Poor tech reliability
Looks great. Drives well but poor reliability. Parking and blind assist sensors went out within the first 3 months of purchase. Air conditioning broken after two years. Apple car play annoying. Definitely skip this one and consider the Expedition. Only reason we didn’t buy the Expedition is the new safety tech wasn’t available but with new model it has all the tech.

Do Not Buy!!!
I am so disappointed with my purchase of the 2016 Yukon XL Denali. The issues with this vehicle in just 1 month are endless. The main one being the brakes are sooo bad. I got in an accident after 1 week, because the brakes on the car just dont work. The quality of the seats are so poor, you can feel the springs in the seats. The transmission keeps slipping. I hate this vehicle. DO NOT BUY.

You really appreciate this vehicle after long rides. I've driven to Florida 5 times and taking kids back and forth to colleges all over and being a hockey dad - a lot of traveling - when you get out of this truck - you don't feel beat up! It's like sitting in a living room - very comfortable and very respectable gas mileage too!

GM Yukon XL Denali Strut Nightmare
My family and I purchased the GMC Yukon XL Denali thinking it would be a good vehicle for the family. We could not have been more wrong. We have owned this vehicle for a little over 4 years now. We have had to replace both rear struts once. That cost us $2,000. We have had to replace the front struts twice. That is about $3,600 in front struts. GM refuses to help us and to fix the problem that is clearly due to their error. Did I mention my front struts are now locked up again and needing to be replaced for a third time? Do not buy a Yukon, run for the hills. It's unfortunate for my family that we had to learn the hard way. I grew up with a father that swore by GM products. But after seeing how they treat us as loyal customers for over 40 years we will never buy another vehicle from them again.

Great Road Trip Vehicle
We purchased our lightly used 2019 GMC Yukon in Feb 2020 and it now has 36k miles. We bought this vehicle to handle our family of 5 on roads trips and shuttling to our kids' activities. It fills that role perfectly. Pros: - Plenty of space in all three rows and cargo area for a family road trip - Engine provides plenty of power for city driving and holds speed well on the highway even in the mountains - Smooth highway ride, easy to travel all day - Driver aids are very useful. Parking sensors front and rear. Lane keep assist is helpful without being annoying - Radio, bluetooth, etc. are simple and work well - Has been reliable thus fall, though it is still early - Mileage is great on the highway, easily over 20, usually between 20-22 mpg. City mileage is acceptable for a vehicle this size at ~15 mpg. Cons: - Carpeting is very cheap. Definitely recommend floor and cargo mats. - Rough ride on city bumps and pot holes. We just replaced the OEM tires and that helped a bit. - Maintainbility is more complicated than it needs to be. Simple items like replacing air and cabin air filters is more involved than other cars we have owned. Overall we like the vehicle and would definitely buy again.

Heaven on 4 Wheels
Bought a 2019 YUKON XL SLT 4 months ago. No issues or problems yet. The standard V8 has plenty of power and I get 22 mpg on the Highway, but I’m not a fast driver. Everything about it fits me perfectly. It does have a firm ride but I did get the 22” factory wheel that are the most beautiful I have ever seen. I could not be HAPPIER !!!

Great large SUV
I had a 2001 Suburban with over 316,000 miles on it and needed a new long-distance driver as the suburban was tired. I was looking at the GMT900 series trucks but was warned away from them. I decided on a GMT K2XX platform truck and a 2019 and up for the 10-speed transmission. I could not be happier with my purchase. Truck eats miles and returns high 20s and even low 30s MPG! The 6.2-liter engine is very torquey and fairly smooth. The Displacement on Demand system works very smoothly and is not noticeable, you can only tell by the V4 display on the cluster that it is in 4-cylinder mode. The exterior is nicely done, the styling is very nice, except for the hood which has too many reverse radius cuts but looks good for a huge truck. I do wish the HID headlights were the LEDs you get with the newer model. The interior is a mixed bag. There are plenty of hard plastics which I would not expect on t truck that cost over $82,000 new, but I realize that GMC is going for durability. The seats are nicely done, comfortable and heated/ventilated. The folding rear seat and captains chairs are very well done as well, but I miss the under seat storage of the middle bench seat in the Suburban. One trick I did, I wanted a truck that would glide down the highway and after putting about 4000 miles on it, I decided that the big 22 inch wheels the Denali comes with had to go. I bought a set of take off 18-inch wheels and tires and did a swap, The ride is much nicer with the larger sidewalls. If you want a truck that rides like a dream go for the 18 inch wheels and the Magnetic Ride.
