Used 2008 GMC Acadia SLT-2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A) Consumer Reviews
1st. GMC
Handles great, comfortable to drive, quite and rides smooth. So far the fuel economy is unfortunately poor at around 15mpg. on the Highway. Too soon to pass judgement on the mpg. and expect it to improve.
Junk so far
We purchased our Acadia new with 5 miles on it. The problems began 1week later by having to have a new engine put in it! then the battery went dead a few months later and the OnStar didn't work to call for help. The traction control quit working and had to be fixed, then the cruise control quit working, then the battery went dead again while driving at night so we had no dash lights and not much of anything was working, so after 5 times of being in the shop lets hope it's all fixed, we should have a new car by now with all those new parts,oh wait, we did buy a new car. Comfortable ride when it runs, NAV doesn't work right, OnStar works sometimes, love it when everything works! Gimme a new one

Just got it
We just completed our first 250 mile trip. I cannot find a thing to complain about and lots to compliment. We traded in our 02 Envoy with 80,000 miles. The Acadia is much quieter on the highway -about the same gas mileage (22 hwy). We have grandkids visiting and the 7 passenger seating is ideal - the back seat is comfortable. My grandaughter pointed out there is even a 120v outlet in the back seat for laptops and dvd etc. We are very pleased thus far.
Love it! But look out for insurance rate
We've had our Acadia about 9 months and dearly love it. Gas mileage is about the same or slightly better than our supercharged Buick Regal. Love the extra space, Love the extra features, love everything! I would buy this again, for sure. For convenience, mileage for its size (although they need an E85 or hybrid option), features, pure styling (looks so beautiful!) and performance it gets a gold star.
Low miles? Expect major repairs after 10 years!
Our 2008 Acadia had 51k miles and served as a family car. How on earth does the transmission begin to slip after the 10th year with low mileage? Such a travesty! This shortfall lessens the trade-in or resell value Good grief! Buyers should definitely consider the extended warranty as an option.
