2024 Genesis G70 Consumer Reviews

Great car, but good luck with dealer maintenance!!
Despite the extravagant promises of concierge service, complementary maintenance, and bumper-to-bumper warranty, dealer support is almost none-existent. Service Dept at the dealer I bought my G70 from became non-responsive, and the one I have to use is a 2-hour drive each way. "Complementary" routine maintenance is a 2-3 month wait. And the "Concierge Service" they brag on is "geographically limited;" i.e., you pretty much have to live next to the dealership. Because they totally separated from Hyundai, there's really no dealer network to rely on. Love the car - better than a C-Class, if you ask me - but buy a Genesis, and you are on your own.

Sold it due to horrible ownership experience
I loved the car for the first year or so. Then I began having tons of problems. The most serious was that the car would go into "limp" mode, where the check engine light would come on and it would only go about 60 mph max. Felt like it was running on three cylinders. When I attempted to get the car fixed at a dealership, they told me it would be over a month until I could get an appointment, When I explained that the car was nearly inoperable and that I needed to get it fixed ASAP I was told I could "bring it in and drop it off and we will try to get it in". No loaner car, no concierge service, it was basically "tough shit". I contacted Genesis corporate, they were of no help. No one at any dealership was able to get the car in and get it looked at. The car would go in and out of "limp mode". One day when it was not in "limp mode" but the check engine light was still on, I traded it in for a 2024 VW GTI. The VW dealership has been great and the car has had no problems. I will never buy another product from Hyundai/Kia/Genesis. The cars are great for the first 20k miles, then they turn into crap and you are left dealing with the worst dealerships ever. I say this as someone who has owned multiple VWs and Dodges---even their dealers are better than the [non-permissible content removed] at Genesis. I strongly recommend you look at any other luxury brands, you will have a far better experience.

Defective Electrical System
I purchased a new G70 in early May. The vehicle experienced a nearly total computer failure six weeks later. It’s been back at the dealership for a week and they haven’t been able to fix the problem. I regret the purchase.

Great Litttle Genesis
This is the smallest Genesis but with a big heart. 365 HP make for a very quick ride with all the safety/luxury/technological bells and whistles you can imagine on the largest Genesis. Great sports sedan. Highly recommend.
