The 1997 Ford Thunderbird is actually Fords version of the Hot Rod Lincoln. With Detroit V-8 SOHC power, 4 wheel disc brakes, and true full independent suspension, this car is real fun to drive, extremely comfortable, and packed with power to gobble up the pavement. I just installed a true dual exhaust system, low restriction cats and mufflers ( magnaflows) and put the heavy battery in the trunk. My thunderbird really wants to go, and is very good on gas considering its size. I absolutely love this car, and its body design always looks sporty and up to date. Actually this is my 4th Bird, starting my crave with an 85. Hsave you driven a Ford lately? This one is awesome !

1997 Thunderbird LX V8

Best car I have ever owned. Ford has shown reliability with this car. No problems with almost 79,000 miles. 4.6 Liter V8 is peppy when you need it, but the gas mileage is only OK (I average about 15-18 mpg in the city). Two of the most favorite things about this car is the auto headlamps (never have to touch) and the moonroof. This car will outlast any Toyota or Honda on the road today!

The Beast

I've owned my Thunderbird now for almost 8 years. Actually bought it off a brother in law in need of some quick cash. Has been used as a daily driver to and from work now ever since. Now keep in mind I don't really keep up with this car, it's just pretty much get up and go. I've taken it on long trips to several towns and could honestly say I've only changed the oil on it about twice since I've owned it. It rattles(suspension) and drinks gasoline like a beast but I've grown very fond of this car. This year was actually planning on selling it but instead have decided to give it some TLC and repaint the car. This car doesn't ask for a thing, and even if it did. I'd bet it'd keep going till it exploded.

Purchased car with 35k miles, now have 85k.A/c switch and 1 battery in 3+ years Rear whl drive, v-8 power, good balanced handling.Super comfort interior.Good mpg Had a 80 and 85 bird prior and this is by far the best of the three. It's no surprise that ford is having trouble now,the should never have stopped making this version.

I was born in 97. My mom got this car when I was born she drove it everyday as a family car it was just me, her and my brother. Once she got a new car my brother drove it now I'm driving it and the only thing that's really wrong with it is that it needs a paint job. Now I drive it and even though I love mustang this is still one of my favorite cars. I love speed the only thing I wish this car had was more speed but anyway I'll never get rid of this car for any other car.
