Replaced the short block

Love this car but… at 42,000 miles I needed to replace the short block at a cost of $8800.00. There is a defect in the ecoboost engines made before 2020 where the coolant leaks into the cylinders. Should have been a recall as I’m reading online that this is a common problem. I wrote Ford but they haven’t replied.

4.5 years and 70000 miles later, pretty pleased

A very competitive segment of cars. Drove the Fusion after test driving H. Sonata, H. Accord, T. Camry. Liked the solid feel behind the wheel and smooth acceleration. Couldn't beat the price. Went with the Fusion. Glad I did. After 70,000 miles, a few observations: Pro: 1. Smooth, quiet ride in a low priced vehicle, drives better than others in class. 2. Excellent fuel economy. We average 30-31 mpg in mixed driving..Fabulous. 3. Not many mechanical/electrical problems. Stress free ownership. Cons. 1. Seats stain very easily, and difficult to clean/remove stains. Wish I had gotten dark interior seats. 2. Crummy standard/oem shocks required replacement at 45k miles. 3. Cruise control always causes a downshift in transmission when coasting/slowing down. Very irritating when decreasing the speed. 4. Not gaga about the exterior styling, SYNC Media/Bluetooth connectivity, very low ground clearance (trade off for fuel economy)

I never want anything but a fusion

I drove the 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE(L) for several years, and absolutely loved it!! Before that, I had a Prius, a Mazda 6 and a Malibu. It's by far the most comfortable car of the size, and all the luxury features are great! My husband loved it so much, he bought a new fusion Ecoboost in 2018. He missed his Ford F-150, so we ended up trading my used Fusion in at about 67000 miles for a newer F-150, and I for his 2018 fusion. I'll be crushed if they end up discontinuing the car like they have with there others. I hope they at least continue the hybrid and Energi for another few years. Even though the Ecoboost still gets great mpg, I really miss the 36+ in town with the hybrid. And I never want to have to drive a Prius again to get the gas milage ha. Sorry Ford, but the hybrid Escape won't be the same. The car is uncomfortable and ugly, and I have to spend more to get less than you get with the Fusion. No thanks.

I have owned my Fusion for 2 1/2 years now and haven't had any problems. I especially like the automatic climate control, rear camera and I love the adaptive cruise option. The 2 L engine preforms well with no hesitation. My gas mileage has been pretty close to the EPA estimate. I live in an area with lots of hills and curves it's more like city driving so locally I get about 24 MPG, on the highway I have done as much as 33MPG. I recorded all my fuel usage for the year and have an overall average of 26 MPG, just what the EPA estimate says. The Fusion handles very well on these curvy hilly roads. The seating is comfortable and it has a more sporty taut ride compared to other midsized cars I tried. After 2 1/2 years and 28650 miles I have never had a recall and have never done any service other than routine maintenance. One thing I don't care much for that is common to all makes today is the keyless ignition, how hard is it to put a key in the ignition? You have to carry the remote anyway.

Best Car I Have Owned And Love to Drive It

I bought the Fusion Titanium AWD (Ruby Red) and just love it. It is truly a gorgeous car and is the best looking car in its class with a fluid design. Too many cars today have gone overboard with odd geometric angles. The Fusion design is just stunning. I have the black leather interior which looks sharp. The engineering of the car is superb. Great feel on the road.
