Disappointing Gas Mileage

2013 Ford Fusion SE 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6A)

After almost 5, 000 miles on my Fusion SE I'm averaging 22 MPG which is a lot lower than the rated mileage for this car by Ford. Is this going to turn into a class action suit for false advertising by Fusion owners? I drive both highway and local roads and still never saw my average mileage increase. I get better mileage from my Honda CR-V than this car. And there have been two recalls for the car since I bought it a few months ago.

Impressed so far....

We've owed our Fusion for just over 24 hrs now I can am impressed with the handling, comfort and styling of the 2013 Fusion. My family fits nicely in the Fusion with room to spare which is a difficult task seeing as how my husband is 6'4 yet the Fusion has ample space behind him for our kids to sit without their knees in their chest. After owning a Dodge Ram for many years, going to the fuel savvy Fusion is a breath of fresh air. The Fusion flashing new body style is appealing to the eye and the interior isn't lacking either. The real test of over all approval will come the more we drive it but so far, not too shabby.

The MPG is horrible on this car. I have a 1.6L Ecoboost, and I don't even get 23MPG which is the minimum advertised, and I drive it gently. At the best I am getting 22.5MPG. I am really disappointed.

A 13 gallon gas tank? Sync still not ready for prime-time

I have about 9200 miles on my Titanium FWD. For the most part, this is a great vehicle. It is a nice driver and is quiet and comfortable. It handles extremely well. However, there are a couple of things that really make it hard for me to recommend to anyone else. There is a problem with the gas tank that prevents you from putting much more than 12 gallons in when you are near empty. The specs say 16.5 capacity. So plan on spending a lot of time at the gas station. My last car held 18 gallons so this is a huge inconvenience.

This car is the best car I have had so far. Had the car for two weeks and the MPG is so good. I average about 28 mpg, mostly city driving, some highway. I will say I drive like a race car driver some times and I still get the 28mpg. The comfort is great, and the power is more amazing. This care is fun, great room for my family, with 2 kids that sit in the back, and trunk space is more than I need. I would recommend anyone to buy this car, Ford has really done a great job and I know this car will get better in time. Thanks Ford! Hope this helps.
