Fiesta Wins Hands Down

I test drove 3 cars last week. A Mazda 2, which had the dash pressed up against my left knee and smelled of burnt oil after doing 70 on the highway. The Honda Fit Sport, which really surprised me on the highway. I had it at 70 and the engine was over reving, like it wanted to be shifted into a higher gear. I was looking for an over drive button but the dealer who was also in the car said it didnt have one. That was a shocker.

Go with the Honda Fit

I am looking for a commuting car that can eventually be a hand-me-down. I just test drove both the fiesta and the honda fit with my 13 year old son - manual trans for both as I think it is needed on these small cars. After looking at the write-ups that made the fiesta sound great, I thought I would put it to the test. my son and I both thought the fit sport won hands down based on driving impressions and comfort. the fiesta needed to be jump started and smelled afterwards like clutch and brake - could be new car break in, definitely not me because I drive awesome - ha. At 5,000 rpm, it felt like it was going to blow. For die hard ford fans consider the focus - rebates are attractive.

2011 Fiesta falling apart

I've run into problem after problem with this car. - The front passenger door latch spring broke so that the latch mechanism had to be replaced. Ford sent out a recall for certain vehicles about this, but mine does not appear to be included. - The engine stalls out when coming to a stop or going up a hill (has died in stop & go traffic on the highway). - The clutch misbehaves and causes the car to engine to shudder/sputter. - The turn signal lever broke so that it does not reset after making a turn. - The steering wheel media control buttons fell off after minimal use - Sync has random issues with reading ipod media. The build quality is just poor.

Small surprise, makes the Fit feel crass

I wanted something more refined but still fun, so traded my Fit Sport for a 2008 Accord EX Coupe when they came out. After 2 1/2 years I decided I really didn't like bigger cars, but didn't want to give up the comfort and features I'm used to. The Fiesta SES fits the bill perfectly. It's amazingly refined for a small car. It's QUIETER than my Accord was. It also has the magic mix of fun and frugal. In my 5-speed, it's not fast in hard numbers, but always feels willing and able, never slow, and the engine stays smooth when revved hard. Handling is excellent. I was surprised by the grip and agility this car has, along with feel-some steering. Interior lighting package is really cool.

Thank you Ford! The Fiesta set a new standard for this segment. The wife and I were just looking for what's out there (planning to buy in 2011). We found the Fiesta and I have to say. this car sells its self. It's nimble yet drives like a larger car. We got the 6 speed twin clutch automatic. With the 6 speed and 1.6l 4 together work wonderfully. We got the car in Indio, California and it gets very hot there (130's). So A/C is a must. Even with my wife 3 kid (5, 8, 14 yrs) and myself the A/c blasting the Fiesta is very eager the please. A must drive and you'll experience this car yourself. Two thumbs up and a big smile!
