Very practical and capable!!
As i'm writing this my Excursion is 23 years old with 175,800 miles and the 6.8 V10. Had it for half a year, absolutely no problems with the engine (it does burn oil), and even after it running on no oil for 2 hours and smoking a lot, it still started up just fine. Has never left me stranded, and is easy to put 8 people in it, or tow campers as well. It doesn't do good on gas, and the interior plastics are unsettling as well as door latch failures. Overall i'd say it is a very good used SUV to buy for a big family or serious towing.
