5.7 vs. 4.7
I bought an 09 Ram with the 4.7 V-8. This truck had difficulty pulling an 18 ft. travel trailer in Colorado. It would run for miles over 4K rpm to maintain 60 mph on I-25. Traded the 09 for an identical 10 with a Hemi. No trouble pulling a 20 foot travel trailer or a flatbed with a Jeep and 4 wheeler. Lots of power. Gas mileage is slightly less with the Hemi, about 15 city and 17 highway vs. 15 city and 18 highway for the 4.7. A trip from Oklahoma to North Carolina averaged 16.8 mpg at 75 mph. Drove into the wind both ways.
Great Truck
Traded a Ford Escape which I hated for this truck. Ride is smoother and quieter than most cars I have been and I love the sound and power of the Hemi engine when you punch it. Build quality is good with a well laid out dashboard. My only complaint is the seats are narrow and can be uncomfortable. Overall, love the truck and a seat cushion will remedy the narrow seat issue.

Outstanding
This vehicle really turns heads no, really. I never thought my personality would change while driving ANY vehicle but I have to admit, I feel like Im on top of the world when Im driving this truck. Out of all the vehicles Ive driven/had this one I cant wait until I drive again. And with the 5.7 Hemi well, when you press the gas pedal youre going places. The crew cab option is very much worth its cost, as you have plenty of room both up front and in back to spread out and relax. I like the little extra storage compartments, cubbyholes, and drink holders. And although the transfer case isnt a new idea, I like its simplicity so my wife can operate the 4x4 when needed.
Beyond my expectations!
This is my third Dodge Ram, the most expensive and the largest. It is also my favorite. Just love it. I did all my research before trading in a much loved 2007 Ram - Quad Cab - and don't regret my decision. The truck is a real head turner that happens to drive/ride as well as it looks. The Hemi is, well a Hemi, and very potent. If you've been looking for a great truck, look no further.
Super Truck
Mine is a 2010 Ram 1500 Bighorn with the 5.7 hemi - 3.55 gears - 4x4 - bucket seats and console shift auto. I have owned it for 4 months+ and I Love It! I pull a 20' loaded car trailer quite often and it does it with ease! Great power and torque! Excellent brakes and trailer towing capabilities. Super interior, the layout is excellent and it has good controls (not those annoying electronic controls that some of the competing trucks have) you know the ones that you can't see when the sun is shining in! The controls have man sized knobs that are easy to use. Very well thought out and laid out interior. Exterior styling is awesome. I test drove other trucks and bought a Ram. Best decision yet
