I will never buy a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SE Stow'N'Go Flex Fuel
This is the worst Minivan I have ever owned. I have owned 4 in total (different years) It seems that the newer year you get, the more issues you have. I currently have 3 recalls on it but there should be more. My issues are as followed: *you have to giggle the shifter to get it to go into park to turn it off *stalls *bad on gas even with Flex Fuel *turns off while driving *over heats *wipers turn on, on there own *will repeataly start (turn over) over and over again while trying to start it and have to turn it off and try again to start it. *always replacing breaks, struts, shocks, ball joints, rooters (never before this bad)
2008 Grand Caravan A/C evaporator
2008 i purchased used in august 2009, TIPIM or TPM MODULE went bad caused van to shut off, radio didn't turn on signals didn't work. dodge said they cant help. now my a/c blows hot air i put die and had a tech check he did not find any leaks at all so he asked another tech that works for dodge and was told it is the evaporator for SURE the evaporator used in my vehicle are the worst and it should be a recall, but of course Dodge said no again. I cant afford to fix it so I will be driving with out a/c the worst part is the defrost don't work without the ac, in Florida, and I have 5 kids. I also got a recall on the radiator cap and brakes. Wow terrible made vehicle

Ok for the price
Bought this car new, now has 65,000km. Probably the most practical vehicle there is for a family at a good price. Brakes are a problem, replaced front pads and rotors at 35,000km. Rear caliper seized ruining rear rotor and pad (covered under warranty). Noisy exhaust (not sure if this is a problem or not).
a nightmare
i would not recommend this car to anyone i have owned this vehicle for 3 years i have over 200,000 miles on it i run it as a taxi and am familiar with all the problems others have written about it. brakes are the worst they designed them too small i have to replace pads every 3 months somtimes sooner if the calipers stick replaced calipers, and rotors. replaced heater hoses several times the plastic tee cracks which leads to leaks. radiator cracked. ac compressor hoses burst. motor mounts need constant replaceing. this car is a money pit. you can purchase a hummer for the price you spend on this van and the fuel economy is the same!!!!!!!
207k miles and still no major issues..
This is one of the most reliable cars I've ever owned.. Let's start with the bad.. The car need brake pads every 15k to 20k miles. This is considered normal for that car but annoying. Other than that, the car has virtually be maintenance free in 207k miles. I got the SE with the 3.3 liter motor and the 4 speed automatic transmission.. In 207k miles, I went through 2 radiators (got the non OEM replacements online for $65 or so each time, $130 total for both as I did my own work) and changed the front wheel hub as it started being very noisy at around 120k miles. Got the new wheel hubs for $65 each (aftermarket, not OEM) and installed them myself. I also had to replace rear calipers and rotors. Don't recall the price but it was not expensive either. So, other than changing oil and brake pads, I spent less than $1k in maintenance on the car. Still on the original plugs, plug wires etc but it could use a tune up soon.. Still no "check engine" light or any other warning lights after 207k miles. I'm lucky that I went with the SE over the SXT as I have read that the 3.8 liter engine and 6-speed transmission were not as reliable as the 3.3 liter with the 4-speed auto..
