Never thought I would buy a Dodge on purpose!
I already loved the way the new Chargers looked on the outside, but never considered purchasing one due to the previous bad experiences with Chrysler products that my family members have had. I drove a Charger last November at a local auto expo, and was thoroughly impressed! I already assumed it would be fun to drive, but I was astounded at how solid and well made it was. It is rock solid, and will cruise at 100 mph as smoothly as if it were standing still. (Professional driver on closed course. Do not attempt :-) ) Initial build quality is on par with the Japanese marques that I usually own. It is really hard to believe that this car came from the same company that manufactured my wife's dreadful 2010 Chrysler Sebring, the car that made her swear off American cars for life. When it came time to shop for a new car in February, I test drove a number of different makes and models, never really thinking that I would seriously consider a Charger. And yet, no other car came close to matching the combination of performance, style, and quality the Charger offered; it was the easiest choice I had ever made on a new vehicle. The 5.7 Liter HEMI V8 is legendary. I always start the car with the remote start feature as I walk up to it, just to hear that sweet rumble. And this car is packed with technology that actually works. It comes standard with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, so there was no need to buy the Navigation package; I simply use the navigation app on my smartphone. There are countless small features that show how much thought was put into the overall design. The hood has gas struts instead of the aggravating prop rod, there are courtesy lights galore, hooks in the trunk to hang plastic grocery bags, and the list goes on. No one would select a car based on these small details, but they make a great car even better. I was never impressed by the aesthetics of the instrument panel while sitting in the car, as I had done at previous car shows. But when I drove it, everything clicked. For some reason, the excellent ergonomics of the instruments and switchgear while driving the car made the appearance of IP more palatable; I still have not figured out how that is possible, but it's true! The exterior design is perfect for its intended demographic: those enthusiasts looking for an unashamedly American, no compromise muscle car (yeah, it is assembled in Canada, but still...). It is beautiful, in my opinion. There are none of the obnoxious and superfluous bulges, creases, warts, goiters, flaps, slits, nostrils, fins, or claspers that most new cars are plagued with. Who decided that the front of a car needs to look like a giant insect anyway??? Lookin' at you, 2018 Camry. It will not appeal to everyone; luxury car snobs will not be impressed. Who cares? They weren't invited to this party anyway. I have surprisingly few nits to pick about this car; they got all of the big things right. I can really only think of two small items that I would change...there is no rear seatback release in the trunk like my older Camry had; the seatbacks have to be released from the interior. Also, I wish the active exhaust had a "quiet mode" like the new Mustangs (the only redeeming feature about the new Mustangs, IMO). I don't think the exhaust is loud enough to offend any neighbors, but I still feel a little self-conscious coming or going when my neighborhood is asleep. ***UPDATE 11-04-19*** I am still insanely happy with this car! I am halfway through my 3-year lease, and have already decided that I will be leasing another Charger when my current lease is up. This has honestly turned out to be one of the best cars I have ever owned; definitely THE best for road trips. I have been on several now, and it is rock-solid and glued to the road. No back or butt fatigue after 8 hours in the saddle. Even with my lead foot, I can get 22 mpg on the highway. Not great, but what it lacks in economy, it more than makes up for in FUN!! The OEM tires only lasted 20k miles; replaced them with a set of Continentals (highly recommended!). There have been a few annoyances, but none would deter me from having another Charger: * Twice, the backup camera has not worked, but both times it came back on the next day. * The A/C compressor started making a whining noise at around 10K miles. It is very subtle, and has not bothered me enough to take it in for repair. * Everybody that gets in the back seat bumps their head, so now I make sure to warn people (the people that I like anyway). * The blind spot warning “horn” is WAY too loud, even on the lowest setting. It needs to be a “chime” like Mazda uses. * I still wish that the exhaust had a quiet mode, and that the rear seatbacks had a release in the trunk. That's it! I cannot think of anything else I would change about this car. I still get frequent comments on the beautiful F8 Green paint, and the way the car sounds. I could go on and on, but I am running out of spac

Favorite Car of All Time
I love this car! Very fun & comfortable, by far my favorite car I have ever driven in or ridden in, its a black CPO 2017 SXT V6 AWD. Had it for over 2 years, very reliable with no major issues, performs well in all weather, snow. The thing is built like a tank. I get compliments on it all the time and people love riding in it. Besides the obvious good looks, the acceleration is fast, even though its only the V6. The automatic shifting is usually good enough, although when flooring it its faster when you use the manual shift mode to shift faster, very cool feature. If you aren't familiar with this (I wasn't) you move the stick over to the left and then you are in manual mode, where you then push the stick up or down to manually shift gears... sort of an easier version of stickshift, which comes in really handy when more control or speed is needed, or you just want to make it more interesting. And it automatically downshifts when you slow down so you never stall like with a stickshift. The handling is also amazing, it handles curves beautifully even going fast, the ride is also smooth. A real pleasure to drive. The steering wheel feels great to grip. The gas pedal finely tuned; its responsive but not too responsive, giving you excellent control. The brakes pedal is the same. The steering wheel has a nice bulge on either side which makes it really nice to grip. The wheels are huge which really adds to the cool look of the car, they dwarf other car wheels. The car is huge, its even bigger than a Camry. Very roomy interior, huge trunk, plenty of cargo space. The thing that struck me the most though after I bought the car was the interior design… I’ve never seen anything like it. I thought the car looked cool on the outside, but its even cooler on the inside. Nice textures & smooth lines everywhere, built with quality materials, nothing feels cheap. Overall the car feels very solid, well built & high quality. Nothing rinky-dink about it like some Hondas & Kias I’ve ridden in. I like the all black cloth interior. The dashboard is streamlined & simple, not cluttered & confusing like some cars. There are nice little touches like a sunglasses case that pops down from the ceiling, and a cover that slides over the cupholder, a rearview mirror that dims itself at night, a door light that lights up the ground when you step out at night, a cool subtle hexagonal honeycomb design on parts of the dashboard. And small lights like in the cupholder & by the door handle. Great attention to detail & extras that make it feel a cut above. You’d have to experience it to appreciate it, but the design of this car is just amazing & beautiful, it shows they really put time into designing his car, and added a lot of nice touches that they didn’t have to. The red gagues look awesome when lit up at night against the black dashboard, and you can adjust the brightness with a dial, very cool feature I havent seen before. The car is just full of nice features & little touches that make driving it & spending time in it a real pleasure. The all wheel drive is great in the snow, the fog lights are a great feature. It came with Alpine speakers which are amazing, and being a musician/bass fanatic I can fully appreciate the premium sound. I had a 12” subwoofer in my last car, but the bass is so good on the Aplines I feel no need to install it, I’d rather have the trunk space at this point. The seats are also super comfortable, I got the car for commuting & traveling & its perfect for that since the drivers seat is power adjustable with buttons on the side. You can move the seat up, down, front or back, and also adjust the lumbar curve front to back and up & down! So you can get the seat curve & position exactly how you want it. I can sit in this car all day & be comfortable, no back pains. I’m officially a Dodge fan, I dont understand why more people dont like Dodge, I think its just because they have never driven one or ridden in one (I hadn’t either). Most people I talk to are interested in Hondas & Toyotas, which are good cars, but the Dodge is a whole different animal. The only downside I can think of is there is no backup camera, and the car is big making it hard to fit into tight parking spaces. Some Chargers do have a backup camera its just this model didnt come with it, I would recommend that if you can get it. The gas mileage is pretty good I get on average 30mpg highway & 20 city. Another cool thing about the car is you can program different settings like if you want the car to beep when you lock or unlock it, adjust the power steering, control how bright the display is, etc. You can customize the settings how you want it, the touchscreen controls are simple & easy to use, and there are real knobs & buttons still for your basic functions which I like. Overall its a very cool car inside & out, very fun, comfortable & user friendly, customizable, powerful yet practical at the same time.

Still Loving It! 2023
So far so good, car has been running great no issues, one recall software-based quickly handled, I have the 5.7 plus with super track pack. I love the looks, and people will stop to compliment the car. Front seats are very comfortable and have a lot of flexibility with lumbar support, its a great feeling when driving the car and knowing you can quickly accelerate if needed. Backsets are also comfortable with lots of room for passengers, the large trunk is excellent. I find the visibility in the car to be okay, however, you do have to be careful in getting into the back seats that you do not bump your head, once you know this you can adjust how you get in and there are no issues. I feel very safe in this car, and I like all the safety features included in my package. Well, its a V8 so gas can go fast if you drive it in sports mode all the time, I not a crazy driver so I have been lucky in getting 21mpg overall so far. Update: 3 years later and the car has had no major issues, being thru a couple of dings which were repaired, great condition, only issue I had was the warping of the plastic on one of the passenger doors which was replaced under warranty! all the above applies still! Milage is more like 20 mpg average highway and local roads, this is my primary car and I feel very safe when driving, V8 has saved me from getting into accidents, especially on the Highway, very reactive and safe!

Family Friendly Muscle Car
Moving up from a Subaru BRZ, the car is ultra comfortable for me. Easy in and out. The family finds it a great car to travel in. I find its a fun car to drive. It certainly is capable of scratching the acceleration itch that comes along now and again. Stay off the pedal and I am getting a respectable 28 - 30 mpg at a cruise of 70. Mixed driving is 23 - 24. Technology it is the bomb. The connect system is quick and responsive and very well laid out. Apple Car play functions very well and my daughter is happy she has USB ports in the back seat as well as an A/C vent. Overall I find the car an excellent blend of family functionality and a car that provides some fun behind the wheel. 40k miles later, not a single issue with the car. Regular oil changes based on the oil life monitor system. I did have to put new tires on... based on fun factor. yea, wiper blades too. Family prefers traveling in the Charger over the wife's Honda Accord. Constantly get compliments on the Octane Red color. Dodge did it right with this car IMHO.

A comfortable sedan with a lot of attitude
Note: I have an R/T (5.7L), not a Scat Pack. I'm not sure why that was selected for my review. I'm a 40-something-year-old dad with teenaged kids. I've been driving an Avalanche for the past 6 years and it's served me well. But I wanted to move back to a car rather than a truck. I knew I wanted a big sedan. I had been looking at Chargers for a long time. Everything else in its class seemed kind of bland. I had never owned a Dodge product but I really liked the styling of the new Chargers, and the availability of a V8 made them that more interesting. A couple of months ago, one of my other cars went into the dealer for a recall. They sent me to Enterprise for a complimentary rental. Enterprise picked me up in what I would learn was a 2017 Charger. I got into the passenger side and the woman from Enterprise started it up. The exhaust growl got my attention immediately. I asked her what exactly this thing was - it was an R/T. Sadly, this was not to be my rental car. But they did give me a 2017 AWD Charger with the 3.6L VVT engine. After driving that for a few weeks, I was hooked. I'm going to preface the rest of my comments by reminding you that we're talking about a full-sized sedan. Acceleration was great, handling was precise and braking was awesome. Cabin space is generous and the seats are comfortable. The UConnect system is intuitive and comprehensive. After turning my rental in, I was on the hunt for a 2017 R/T. The color had to be Maximum Steel Metallic and it had to have the Blacktop package. I found one a couple of weeks later and have owned it a couple of weeks now. The 5.7L Hemi vs. the 3.6L VVT experience is night and day. The active exhaust on the R/T is sophisticated and sounds sweet. The 8-speed transmission behaves totally different behind the 5.7L vs. the 3.6L. In both cases, however, shifts are smooth and quick. The Android Auto feature baked into the UConnect is nice. I haven't tried the Apple version. The car I bought has very few options, but that's the way I like it. As equipped - just the R/T package and Blacktop option - it does everything I want it to do. It can be a docile 4 cylinder when commuting to work, or you can push the Sport button and let it rumble. Now the cons...there are a few things that my Avalanche does that the Charger does not. First, the ability to program the passenger seat heater to come on with a remote start. Charger doesn't do that. The Charger does not dip the right-side mirror when backing either, which is a nice feature that other cars have. My only other complaint is that the factory Firestone Firehawk GT tires really suck in cold weather. They're marketed as an all season tire but they are totally ineffective in the cold and snow. I've owned A LOT of V8, RWD cars over the years and have driven them in the Winter without issue. This Charger is completely helpless in inclement weather and I blame the tires. I'll be investing in dedicated Winter tires next season.

AWD for Buffalo WInters
The car is fantastic all around, handles well, sporty, roomie, and comfortable. The support from the dealers however is not. After purchasing the car I noticed a small chip on the trunk on the paint in the first two weeks of owning it. Every dealer refused to put a drop of touch paint on it. It was still brand new and under warranty. Also did not come with the gas nozzle in the trunk in case you run out of gas - so look for that. Dodge dealerships also refused to give me a replacement one insisting I pay for it. The car is absolutely fantastic but the dealership support after paying 42K for a brand new vehicle is awful.

Love/Hate Relationship
I absolutely love my car, but barely after a year of ownership and I’ve had several issues with it already. Early on I had issues with the sunroof closing halfway then stopping in re-opening, I got it recalibrated at the dealership. I’ve also had several issues with the entertainment system crashing or just not working, typically issues with the Apple play not cooperating. A few months ago the water pump went out in it shredded a belt that was another four days spent at the dealership. Now it’s getting service Schechter warnings and is hesitating and/or not responding to the throttle. Despite the issues, I love this car and when it does run correctly, it’s a beast. She’s won 3 car show trophies and is always a favorite at local shows and meets. Comfortable ride though I’d say the material quality is a little lacking considering the price I paid. Small things like plastic interior piece not lining up or the stitching coming undone on the front passenger seat. The UConnect system glitches a lot and sometimes just flat out shuts off for no reason.

2018 charger gt plus awd
Over all a great car. Color choices are best in industry. Comfortable interior lay out is fantastic. Beats sound system is the best in industry. Leather interior is beautiful and comfortable. Engine is where this car lacks. V6 only with the AWD not good Dodge. Yes this motor makes decent power and yes the 8 speed transmission is spectacular. Yes the all wheel drive works amazing and this car is two wheel drive 90% of the time till wipers are turned on or wheel slip is senced. Or Temp falls to 40f degrees ambient. The fit and finish all around I give a A grade . Ride quality is a little stiff as it should be it is a muscle car/ family sedan. The steering is tight and very responsive. Grip is great in corners and body roll for such a big car is quite good. It turns in the corner not much push. The car stays planted and pointed exactly where you put it and yes I push it to it's limit. My previous car was a charger rt classic m6. This car is superior to the Challenger in every way possible except the power plant. I also owned the ram 1500 with this v6 and I was impressed with it's towing capacity and fuel mileage. The chargers power is much more than the truck. Over all I give the 2018 Dodge charger gt plus AWD a 4.9 star rating. Maybe turbos would help me be a 5 star member 😁

Great road car
I'm a traveling salesman. My company car is a Chevy SS which I've already driven 86k+ miles. Wife bought Charger which we've now driven on several personal trips. A bit to my surprise, I enjoy the Charger more than the SS. Both cars have similar comfort. Sticker on the SS new was about $10k higher than the Charger. The company got a special fleet price on a closeout model which actually made the SS cheaper than the Charger. On that basis, I'd say the SS was a better value, but since they don't make the SS anymore and I'm not going to get fleet pricing for a personal car, I consider the Charger a good buy. A lot of performance for the dollar. Yeah, the SS has a bit more refinement and some extra features included in the higher sticker price. What I don't see in the higher SS price is any extra performance. Professional auto testers seem to prefer the SS. My "seat of the pants" impression is different. It feels to me like the Charger accelerates harder and inspires more confidence in corners. Both cars are firm and braking from both cars' Brembos seems equally good. The SS has an edge on smooth, but neither car is unpleasant. SS seats look more stylish, but the Charger seats seem more comfortable to me for long stints behind the wheel. A wider person might prefer the SS seats though. The SS gets a consistent 21-22 mpg in highway driving. On the highway trips we've taken in the Charger, we got 24-25 mpg. Of course, around town wife averages 15-16 mpg with the Charger. Because the SS is my work car, I never drive it around town enough to get a comparison. The higher sticker on the SS does bring a few features the Charger lacks. The SS features I value are the heads up display and a spare tire. I got an aftermarket spare for the Charger, but have to forgo the heads up display. That brings up a minor annoyance with the Charger. For whatever reason, Dodge located the very small high beam indicator light where it is frequently hidden by the tach needle. Such a small thing, but so annoying. The other annoyance with the Charger is the automatic door locks. A nice day just invites windows down driving - if for no other reason than to listen to that wonderful engine. If you like to rest your arm on the window sill, those front door locks pinch when they activate. The SS has the same automatic door locks, but they are positioned just enough different that they won't pinch you when they activate. Minor beefs aside, I enjoy driving the Charger more - and driving enjoyment is why cars like the SS and Charger exist. For people who consider driving a necessary evil, there are plenty of other fine transportation appliances available for less money and operating costs. Me? I'm already scheming how to get a Charger when its time for the company to trade my SS. UPDATE 18 months down the road. . . .not a single problem or issue. Still my favorite driver car. This car has the optional LED headlights. One thing I'll add is that these headlights are really good. I never noticed how bad the headlights were on our previous car until we got this one. Other than that, I wouldn't change a think in the original review. When my wife bought this car, I did wonder whether the long term reliability of a Chrysler product could be trusted. On this car, so far, the answer has been a resounding YES. UPDATE #2 AT 24 months, the car is still solid and tight. Not a single malfunction or need for an unscheduled service. American cars should be built this well. I do wish now we had ordered the tinted windows since we ordered a dark color and the interior is black. If you park in the sun a lot, something you might want to consider. On the plus side, the color called maximum steel manages to be dark but not show dirt like a black car. Not sure how they pulled that off, but the car never really looks dirty even when it is. Driving enjoyment hasn't faded one iota. We've put on some highway miles in the past months and the highway fuel mileage is amazingly good for such a powerful car. In the normal around town driving, the car is a bit of a pig with gas. Still willing to buy another, but no need to as this has been such a good car thus far. Update #3 Due to moving to an area that requires more frequent travel off of paved roads, my wife decided to replace the Charger with a Jeep. The. Charger is not a good choice for unpaved roads. Our 3+ years of ownership was a revelation. Like a lot of buyers, we were leery of Chrysler build quality. After 60k miles, the car is still tight and trouble free. I don't know if our experience is typical, but I'd consider it the best built car we've ever owned - and that experience includes Toyota, Honda and Mercedes. One other unexpected bonus. We got more than the original sticker price in trade on the Jeep. Might be due to the car shortage, but these things appear to hold their value really well.

A week in Northern California
My wife and I reserved a "premium car" (meaning full-size) with Alamo for our trip in Northern California. When we got on the lot our choices were an Impala, a Lacrosse, and the Charger. I was leaning towards the Lacrosse as it appeared to be trimmed nicer with a leather package. My wife, however was drawn to the Charger's looks. She was right -- even just being the STX, it did have a commanding presence, and from what I had heard, I figured the V6 power and the Charger's handling might be better on the curvy and mountainous roads we would be traveling on -- so we went with the Charger. First off, getting situated was fine -- the trunk was very spacious, I easily paired my phone to the Bluetooth for music and gps, and we both got comfortably situated in our seats. My first complaint, however, was that there was no back-up camera -- how does a full size car with not the greatest rear-view vision not have this as standard equipment in this modern era? In driving from the Oakland airport to Napa Valley, and around Napa Valley, the car functioned as expected, and I was pleased (except for the lack of the rear-view camera). The next stage of our trip led us further north, to the Redwoods, including some travelling through very curvy roads and in the mountains. Here the Charger fell short of my expectations. I should state, my regular car is an Optima SX Turbo -- and while it is no true performance car, it does well, and is fun to drive in such situations. The Charger, on the other hand, did not quite have the acceleration I am accustomed to, nor the tighter handling around the curves (granted, it is bigger than my Optima). It drove more like the traditional full size cars I'd driven, and less like the sporty Charger I expected (perhaps that handling is there on the pricier V8 trims). Still, all in all, it was not bad -- I've driven much worse in similar situations. We drove the car for over a week and more that 1000 miles, and up until near the end we were for the most part happy with the car. But the day before we returned the car, the Bluetooth stopped working -- we spent a good amount of time and several ideas trying to resolve the problem, but nothing would work -- very frustrating.

Far Better than I Thought it would be!
During the summer of 2018 I was pondering either the Mustang GT or Camaro for a new true high performance car. I then owned a 2013 Mustang V6 which was THE MOST DISAPPOINTING CAR I had ever purchased. There is a reason why you can find a ton of aftermarket performance and handling fixes online for the Mustang. It just is not what you might be expecting. Now I would never have considered a Charger. Not for a minute. But we had an air trip and a rental agency put us in a 2018 5.7L Charger. I thought, this will be fun. It was way beyond just fun. After ten miles, my wife said, this is the car we should buy. It was unbelievably comfortable for my 6 foot frame and for my wife as well. It was stone quiet on the highway. It got 26 m[pg on our freeway drives. It handled like a dream, i.e., tight, responsive and quick to turn in. Try as I might I could not provoke any dreaded understeer. The brakes (all four wheels had 4 piston Brembos and slotted rotors) were fantastic. The suspension soaked up the bumps, but the car had virtually zero body roll or the evil hard stop nose dive habits. We cruised for a while at 100 mph on I-91 in VT with no sense that this was a problem. The 8 speed ZF transmission shifted quickly and smoothly and always seemed to be in the right gear for the situation. Paddle shifters were instantly available and worked perfectly. We had the car for about ten days and loved every minute in it. When we returned home I sped to a dealer and drove the SRT 6.4 L rig. Astounding power and handling. I drove some bumpy twisters that would put my 2013 Mustang (which had about $500 of aftermarket suspension fixes) totally out of shape (I mean totally). The big Dodge just spooled through those turns suspension silently doing its thing. I learned a ton just by crawling all over the SRT. The front suspension is a dual ball joint arrangement. It works. Period. The rear independent suspension multi-link. Turns out this suspension setup came from Daimler Benz years back and has been substantially improved by the Chrysler engineers. The shocks are Bilstein gas types. I had l onged for those for years instead of the OEM junk that came with my Mustang. The hood is aluminum, nice to have that in my car not in some pickup truck. The front brakes have cooling air ducts direct from the grille. So I bought the 6.4 L SRT with the Dynamics Package which added 6 piston Brembos to the front along with huge two piece slotted rotors (lighter than all cast iron rotors). 4 piston Brembos rear. Forged alloy 20" x 9.5" wheels. Some other features hidden beneath the metal: Engine seamlessly drops to 4 cylinders for low load situations thus reducing fuel consumption but jumps to 8 cylinders if you need instant power. Battery in the trunk to help weight distribution. Limited slip diff standard, Fully lined trunk and trunk lid. Trunk floor of conformal molded plastic with a lift loop and hook to hold it open (Mustang trunk floor was a piece of masonite). Hood supports are gas struts not a junky prop rod (Mustang). Locking gas cap released from inside the car (not available on Mustang). Awesome sounding multi-mode exhaust standard ($900 extra on Mustang). Lovely underhood area showing off the huge engine with all wiring and plumbing carefully laid out and encased in protective materials. Power adjustable front seats with fully adjustable lumbar supports (they move up and down as well) for both driver and passenger (only for driver on Mustang). Fabulous standard sound system. Large crisp center display/touch screen for all the techy features with a second center panel digital display between the tach and speedo featuring all-selectable special instruments plus a personalized setup capability. It will even chide you if you forget to cancel a turn signal. Cool. As mentioned elsewhere here, the car is set up for both Apple and Android phones which will give you a full nav package display in the center panel. HID headlights, all other exterior lights LED. Automated blind spot warning (audible and in mirrors). I am going to run out of space. I could go on for another page or so. I am about 18 months in to having this car. We've taken several long trips. It has proven to be flawless and very enjoyable to drive. My wife loves it. It is so quiet inside when cruising we can easily converse. It has not yet experienced a single problem (quite a change from my 2013 Mustang which after a few months could find its own way back to the dealer). If you have not considered this car you will be doing yourself a favor by going for a test drive. I would call it a world class 4 door sedan with fantastic handling, brakes and power. Lovely to look at and a joy to drive and own.

Finally my own Hemi: R/T Plus/Super Track Pak
After years of pining and lusting over Mopar muscle cars, I finally took a leap ... I am 6 months in to my lease of a Destroyer Grey 2018 Dodge Charger R/T with Plus Package and the Super Track Pak. I have been leasing Hondas, Infinitis, and most recently a Lexus GS350 F-Sport, and this is my first non-Japanese car since 2001. With 6 months and 9,000 miles, I am extremely satisfied with the car based upon its intended use as a performance-oriented large muscle car. The car has surprised me with its premium feel, and continues to put a smile on my face every day with every start. I had been seeking a Scat Pack 392 for months, but I decided the added expense for the larger lease payment, gas, and insurance wasn't worth it - and that pragmatically I would be unable to really fully use and enjoy the 392's power. The Super Track Pak option includes the SRT body work and goodies that comes with the Scat Pack (front fascia, rear fascia with 2.75-inch round exhaust tips, hood with intake bulge/duct, side sills, Dodge Performance Pages, and allegedly a "performance" suspension (an upgrade from the AWD and base R/T "sport" suspension, but not the all-out "high performance suspension with Bilstein shocks" that is standard on the Scat Pack - all of which is now standard on 2019 Charger R/T models). The combination of the Plus Package with Super Track Pak also "releases" the nicer front seats - the leather/suede Alcantara heated and ventilated seats. They look nice and feel great, and it's one of those features that continually reinforces feeling satisfied with the car. Other options include Navigation, Moonroof, and black painted roof. The 5.7 Hemi V8 is plenty powerful for daily use and with the Active Exhaust (and round exhaust tips), it sounds amazing, delivering an old-school, deep burble; I am a muscle car and Mopar enthusiast, and this scratches the itch!! Using remote start is a guilty pleasure just to hear the Hemi start-up. Full throttle get-aways and highway passing reveals an all-out beastly sound from the engine - and it's glorious. Gently rolling into first gear from a standstill and then really stepping on it breaks the rear wheels loose. If driving in the rain, I suggest you have nearly a full tank of gas and avoid sudden throttle inputs of more than 1/3 of pedal travel - you can break the rear wheels loose in the rain if you're not exercising just a bit of restraint. It reminds me that the 392 would have been too much for my daily use. The 8-speed automatic transmission is excellent. I love the louder exhaust in Sport Mode, and in combination with manual shifting, is a tremendous amount of fun. One item to point-out for anyone seeking a very high level of performance: The transmission does not shift as quickly as in the 392 models, even in Sport Mode, however the shifts are still very satisfying and quick enough. I find the ride and handling to be an excellent and impressive balance. It's smooth, handles corners with surprisingly little body roll, and inspires confidence. My car with the Super Track Pak and advertised "performance" suspension felt definitively more premium and less rough than the two base R/T cars I drove. I find the interior pleasurable and relatively easy to use - yes, some interior bits don't have the best fit-and-finish, but it's clear that Dodge/FCA are making improvements. The U-Connect system is good, and the inclusion of Apple Car Play is excellent - I use it all the time. I think I've used the U-Connect navigation twice in 6 months. The Dodge Performance Pages are fun - I have tried Launch Control and I think it's very good, though not necessary. Although not advertised as such, the car has "automatic climate controlled seats and steering wheel." If it's really cold, the heated driver seat and steering wheel automatically go on. If it's really hot, the ventilated/cooled driver's seat goes on. This is a great luxury. Fuel economy is as expected. With 80% highway and 20% city including manual mode fun driving, I achieve 18 to 19 mpg on 89 mid-grade. On a 260 mile trip I achieved 26.5 mpg. Gripes include: Not enough room in the foot well - some shoes rub on something when I lift from accelerator to brake pedal. I can't figure out how to have text messages send an audible alert while driving, both with and without using Apple Car Play; I constantly miss text messages. On just 2 or 3 songs, the speakers emit an odd and disturbing sound - almost like the sound of the locks locking. Haven't brought it in yet to the dealer for this issue. The red gauge accents do not provide enough clarity in the speedometer and tachometer, and I find it difficult to quickly scan the gauges while driving. There should be more rear leg room and space in a car this big! Make the automatic rain-sensing wipers part of the Plus Package!!! More than an upgraded sound system, I wish I had the rain sensing wipers. I am very, very satisfied with leasing my Charger R/T.

A great ride ,easier for me to get in or out ( only thing I would suggest is some type of door handle pull ) . I like the 20" tires for ride & extra high clearance in driveway .

Dream car - I just love this TOY!
I started researching this car starting with the 2015 model and learned as much as I could about the car, my concerns were the stories of reliability at that time. What I did see was improvement every year and the car getting great ownership reviews. Once the 2018 model came out, I started noticing fewer concerns from owners on repairs and reliably. Significant improvement in the selection of trims and what could be added creating excellent value for what you got with the package. So in March 2018 when my old car started to cost me more to own than repair, I decided it was time to pull the trigger and start looking for my dream car, which I had obsessed for 3 years learning everything about it good and bad. I purchased a Dodge Charger R/T -Granite color - plus package - navigation and travel -super track pack which comes with the most awesome rims and hood scoop. I just love the way I feel in this car, not only does it look and sound fantastic its a joy to drive. 1 year of ownership with no issues and excellent performance, I even love to do my own detail on the car as it gives me great pride in ownership.

Reliable, Powerful, Responsive
First off, I wanna say I have the charger model and not challenger. ( both have literally every component and engine part the same except the cab) This car is my child. It’s insane speed, roaring exhaust and intimidating look made it an easy choice for the car of my purchase. The only con I have with this car is the MPG. It’s not good and it’s even worse when you drive it around everyday like it’s stolen. HOWEVER, when you buy a car like this you know what you are getting into. No one should be complaining, especially if you Daily drive it, like me.
Chrysler cannot fix my brand new charger
Car developed a problem at 100 miles and two days into owning it. Dealer - on Chrysler’s so so - has replaced a sensor, two oil pumps, a cam chain tensioner, a PCM, a radiator, and a engine wiring harness. Still not fixed. Car has been at dealer over a month now. Chrysler expects me to continue waiting. No other option. Just terrible customer service!

My 18 charger sxt with blacktop edition option
I like how my car looks. It gets 29 mpg highway. I have the 3.6. It has 292 hp. Plenty of performance. Cruises well at higher speeds and has good acceleration in the 45-70 mph range for freeway merging. I’m glad I bought this engine. It is Rear wheel drive, which I prefer. The 8 speed transmission is outstanding. Downshifts feel matched and crisp. The steering nicely telescopes far rearward. My disappointments are the seat cushion is short. It doesn’t match the tall seat back. And the radio speakers are the worst sounding car audio system I’ve ever heard. I’m going to have to aftermarket upgrade the speakers and have something else put in. I’ve heard JBL is a good replacement brand for the charger.

Love hate relationship
I love the car but I’ve had several issues!! My passenger door panel lifted by the window after less than a year of having the car (warranty covered the replacement). My sunroof doesn’t always close with the auto button (I’ve had it recalibrated a few times). Now, my warranty is up and the center console is lifting like the door panel did. My uconnect 8.5 touch screen started bubbling (never has gotten wet or damaged) and now changes settings and stations on its own. If I knew I would be having this many issues with this car within 3 years of owning it I would not have bought the car. It sure does look sweet and drive nice, though!
2017 R/T sedan
Love this car !! can stay in it all day put it on the parkway it will do whatever you want it to do!! not the scat or hellcat but I'm very satisfied not crazy about the touch screen radio draws your attention away from the road not what you really want to do in this car also has kinda stiff ride but to be expected with a muscle car .Overall not dissapointed at all with what I spent

Fantastic automobile and a great price
Traded in a low-mileage '15 Challenger SXT Plus on our '18 SXT Plus Leather Charger after our grandson was born for the utility of a four door. It wasn't easy to find one in B5 blue with no sunroof, but it was worth the search. The car is gorgeous. The ride and handling are excellent. The balance of power and economy with the V6 is awesome. Rear visibility suffers as it does in the Challenger, but I am extremely happy with the vehicle. I had an Impala as a service loaner for a day and was quite impressed with that and wondered why they didn't sell better. Then, I tried out the Charger and the Impala dropped out of contention. As of late February 2023, I am about four and a half years into the ownership experience and am still very happy with this car. The radio screen delaminated but was replaced under warranty. Other than that, it's been trouble free. It's February 2024 and I've recently traded the Charger toward the purchase of a Durango. Other than the radio being replaced under warranty, the only "repair" needed in about five and a half years was a new battery in August 2023. Great vehicle. Solid, comfortable, economical.

Amazing Car
I have owned and driven this car for 18 months. For context, I am a car nut. I have owned 18 cars in the past 12 years. I also attempt to drive at the track. I love this car. Many people will argue that it is a straight line car, maybe ...... but its still pretty damn good. When driving at the track or on a steep canyon road it handles better, in my opinion, than other big rear wheel drive sports sedans. In comparison to the CTS-V there was less body roll. The other big sports sedan I can compare it to is the MB E63 AMG, and there is no comparison. The MB is one of my all time favorite cars, but the Hellcat has a deep down ethereal quality that evokes so much emotion as you slam the gas pedal. I love it! You just have to learn how to drive the beast and once you do you will always want a hellcat. I sold the Hellcat this year to get a new C8. Not because there was anything wrong with the Hellcat. In comparison the Hellcat is pure power, gut wrenching adrenaline pumping power. I loved this car, and If I could have both I would.

Dream come true
I went in expecting to only be able to afford the Daytona with the 5.7 or the Scat Pack. I was floored when I found out I could get the Daytona 392 for less than another dealership was trying to sell the Daytona 5.7 for. My Daytona 392 came with all the options too, I mean all of them. I'm in love with the car! The only thing I wish was different was the seats. I think they could go a little lower to the floor.

My 2017 Scat Pack experience
I own a 17 Scat Pack Charger. I enjoy the car now but it has been a road filled with failing factory components. The pistons in the 6.4 are weak so if you plan to really run the car hard get ready for a rebuild. I race the car regularly and am pretty hard in it, I will admit. After rebuilding the bottom half of the engine I had issues with weak valve springs. She's running strong now but only because I was willing to sink the money into it for fun. I didn't use my warranty because I didn't want more cheap parts replacing what I already know will fail. If you want a fast car get a Hellcat. It's a better starting platform.

Ultimate Cruiser
The best cross country cruiser and the best car I've ever had. 76,000 miles and never been back to the dealer. Nothings ever gone wrong, not even little things. I've enjoyed high speed driving in 46 states with my Hellcat. Incredibly fast, especially in mid/high speed range. Low speed acceleration is hampered by lack of rear wheel traction even with large high performance tires. My car pulled over 1 G in both directions on a racetrack. Comfortable interior, large trunk for traveling, I'm always looking forward to my next roadtrip!

Dangerously dim headlights
This car has so many positives, but the one negative, and it's a huge one, is the headlights. I can't get light 200 feet in front of me, I've tried different bulbs, aiming, and it just isn't helping. These things are dangerously dim, and it's too bad, because the rest of the car is quite honestly perfect for my use, plenty of interior room, great power for normal daily driving, big trunk, pretty good stereo system (the sound, although the screen is pretty great too, and you can see it in direct sunlight at most angles)... but I just can't get past these headlights.

2017 Dodge Charger Daytona NAVIGATION ISSUES
I bought a brand new 2017 Dodge Charger Daytona and the navigation does not pronounce the street name correctly. Example in video for NE 21st says Nebraska (I live in Oregon) because the street direction NE is the state abreviation for Nebraska. Been working with Dodge and the dealership for the past 3 months with no resolution. This happens with any street that is NE or SE followed by a number address. Dodge tells me there is NO fix. I drove other chargers including 2018 and they all do the same thing. The entire panasonic nav is faulty and I paid for navigation that does not work! I am a Realtor and use nav daily and am very unhappy Dodge cant find a fix and has told me I am out of luck. Also they are selling all cars with faulty navigation without disclosing to potential buyers of this uncorrectable fix. Wondered if anyone else is having this issue with Nav and if your dealership is doing anything about it?
