Good idea, bad execution, terrible support

I have owned my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica (Plug-in Hybrid Limited) for almost a year now and I have come to the conclusion that if I had to do it all over again I would not have purchased the Pacifica. The concept of the Pacifica is great, and when it works it is excellent. The plug-in is perfect for our family -- we will go 2-3 months sometimes without needing gas because the electric range is enough and when we do go on long road trips there is no range anxiety or needing to plan around charging stations. The car is shockingly quiet inside and you can easily talk from the driver seat to the third row at a normal voice -- our old Honda Odyssey always required yelling for comprehension. The minivan is comfortable, even with a dark color in the Texas summer, due to the cooled seats, window shades, etc. The number of charging ports is great for long car trips as is the on-board wifi. The wireless Apple CarPlay is a game-changer in convenience compared with older models that require plugging in via USB, especially that you can connect on multiple phones. You might be asking yourself -- well, everything you've said is extremely positive, why wouldn't you buy this car again? Well, first of all, the execution on this minivan has been terrible. I have had no less than 5 warranty issues already. The car has stopped working and needed to be towed in the middle of the street due to a battery/charging issue. The window shades were installed backwards in one part of my car and multiple dealers still have not replaced/fixed them. The car has screens in the backseat that might as well not even be there. The system that the screen uses is extremely old and hard to use. Multiple times it just stops working -- we've had to take it to the dealer to fix. The only thing it seems to be able to reliably do is play DVDs. There is no ability to stream from your phone or anything. I haven't been able to get a Google Chromecast to work on the HDMI port -- but even if I did, it is extremely cumbersome as you would bump into it every time you get in and out of the minivan. My minivan stopped having the ability to be charged, again, recently. I've become very acquainted with the "Service Charging System" error, and if you Google that phrase you'll see a lot more deal with it a lot. Before I bought the car, some people warned me that there could be issues with the hybrid/battery/charging system since it was not a mature technology. I thought -- hey, it's covered by a long warranty, I should be OK. I have now found out why that is flawed thinking. Every single time I have to bring in my minivan because of an issue with the battery/charging system, I have to go without my minivan for weeks. I have gone to multiple dealerships and they always tell me they do not have enough people who can work on the hybrids. There must be a lot of people also having issues with hybrids, because it takes at least a week for them to even LOOK at the issue, much less resolve it. And they make you leave your car there that whole time, even though they know it's just going to sit in a lot waiting to be looked at, because it needs to be in the queue. So what does that mean? That means in my first year of owning a Pacifica, I have gone about 4-5 weeks without my minivan and I am currently without it right now with no end in sight. Without my family car t o take kids to school, soccer practice, etc.. The whole point of buying a Pacifica is to have a minivan to drive around my family of 5 comfortably with car seats and all. The dealers say they can't offer me a service car of any sort. So basically 10% of the time I have owned my minivan, it has been sitting at a dealer and we have been down a car at my house. By the way, I live in Houston -- the 4th largest city in the US. There's no reason I can't find a dealer which can't even look at the issues in my car within a week. I have previously always owned Hondas for the family car and never had warranty issues. When we did eventually need service, we got it promptly. This has been a terribly frustrating experience for me and has me considering selling this car and getting something else. I will NEVER buy another Chrysler again. The sad thing is that I keep having this false hope that IF the minivan works correctly, it is a true joy to own. But no car should cost $60,000 if it only has 90% availability.

Purchased the Pinnacle edition hybrid. Put on 10000km and the battery quit working. Chrysler can’t fix it. The carpet in the back never fit right. It’s always coming apart as soon as you put any weight on it. An rebates. The dealer wouldn’t apply for it. Wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Hybrid battery heater needed replaced. When it goes into "Gas/Oil Refresh Mode" add 4 gallons of gas. It will revert back to hybrid. I keep my Pacifica around half full unless I'm going on a trip.

The best Minivan in the Segment

I was in a dilemma when I was out to buy a minivan. This is our first minivan. The Reliability of the odyssey VS the the new hybrid sienna VS my not so well perceived dream van (Pacifica). After test driving all 3, I finally opted for the Pacifica Limited AWD. Reasons: 1) Amazing Interior color options. (Leather perforated and blended with fleece...Luxury!!!) 2) Stow and Go Seats (I carry a fully inflated raft OR 2 bicycles OR 5 check in bags.... at times!!!!) with 5 passengers inside...Boot still is empty!!!! 3) Power sliding doors and trunk release (tada!!!) 4) Power operated 3rd row folding seats (no more sprained fingers or wrists) 5) AWD (test it out in Canadian snow, and have fun drifting while in complete control) 6) Dual screen state of art rear entertainment system (Each screen can play different content and games at the same time) 7) Self parking technology (Its magic. I just point the car, and it parks itself) 8) Rear collision alert and self braking. (this has saved me multiple times while parking) 9) Cross traffic alert (A Must have when parking in malls) 10) Self folding mirrors (tight spots while parking) 11) Auto dimming mirrors (No more strain on the eyes from hi beamers behind you) 12)The BEST in car infotainment system with driver alerts (My van tells me even when I have accidently kept my turn signals on) 13) Self reclining driver seats when vehicle turned off (its like 5 star exit treatment) 14) Tri pane pano sunroof (Worth every dime, to see the stars, snowfall and rain falls) 15) Vent+ heated first and middle row seats (comfy!!!) 16) Inbuilt vaccum with extension cord and fitments ( all the way from the boot to the driver's foot) 17) Led lights with auto high beam (the bright side) 18) Led interior lights with theatre style dimming (where did that little lego block fall now?) 19) U connect 5 phone app (lock, unlock, sound, light and detect your car from anywhere in the world!!!!) 20) inbuilt sat nav (free) 21) fam cam ( middle row + 3rd row passengers...each one of them !!!!) 22) 13 speaker alpine music system with inbuild SUBWOOFER!!! 23) Wireless headset + remote + inbuilt games for rear passengers (love the silence while having kids along!!) 24) climate control (each to his own's comfort) 25) remote start stop ( warm or cool her up, while away) 26) Lane assist (the van sticks to the lane like a honebee) 27) Speed camera detection (Saving on speed tickets) 28) Built in Alexa with voice input and talk back (can you beat this...a talking car) 29) 2 phone sync ( for me and wifey...no hassles) 30) Driver profiles (from music to climate to seat to mirrors.....all in one go) 31) Vehicle health updates 32) 287 BHP!!!!...ever tried 185 kmph in Canada while still there is reserve power to reach 220 kmph ? The only downside is fuel economy, but that's ok keeping in mind the heft and the AWD in the van. Who care about a few kms/litre when you are in the maybach of minivans Simply put, forget minivans, not even premium SUVs come close.

The slider doors and hatch keep closing on me as I load/unload kids and things. They push against me pretty hard before they finally decide something is obstructing the path and open back up. VERY UNSAFE!!!!! This could cause serious harm to children! The radio changes stations on it's own. For instance, we will have it on station 101.3, shut the van off. Come back and start the van it's on 99.3. The gear knob goes back to R when you put it in park. Then the the van beeps at you and throws the gear in P. The driver settings are useless. My husband and I have our seat settings set to memory but we still have to manually move our seats. We got this van because I transport our grandson who is in a wheelchair. He is only 5 so we don't need a handicap accessible van yet. But when the back seats are stowed the floor is unlevel causing the wheelchair to rock when stopping. The A/C is not coming on with Remote start even though it is set to "All Start" meaning it's suppose to come on regardless of starting method. I still have the same issues as I had when I first bought it. I hate this car!! They say everything ' "Works as it should" yet all these things are still happening. It's JUNK!!!
