LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
This car is FANTASTIC! Bought in '06 with 45000 miles on it. It's now 2015, and we have 152,000. She runs smooth, and cruises effortlessly. Nothing major has gone wrong with the car. Just a few sensors. The 15 inch alloy rims look great too. We easily pull 22-25 mpg. Treat her right, and you'll be rewarded.

2005 Venture
We were in a rollover accident with our Chevy Venture. The van rolled over 4 times according to witnesses, and my 2 children and I walked away from the accident. You could see the obvious crumple zones, and while I did hit my head on the roof, it did not cave in at all. Instead it bowed out like a cone, like it was supposed to. I was very happy with the crash performance, and while I don't plan to get hit again like that (!), we did go out and buy another new Chevy Venture to replace the totalled one.

Love my 04 Venture Van
I have over 180,000 on my van with little troubles. I like the way it drives. I can haul things in it, pull trailers with it and I can haul all my grandchildren in it. Have had very little troubles with it. When it was new a rear wheel bearing went out but was covered under warrenty. I had to repair some window controls but that was easy.
Good "mom" car
Im 16 and i got my mothers 2004 venture about 5 months ago, when she had it she liked it very much. Overall its been a good car for me but it has bad car computer problems. We had to replace the whole computer system about 3 years ago. ($750) which wasnt worth it because about a year ago the gas gauge just stopped working which would be $500 to fix which is not worth it to us because we dont want the car anymore. But then again it has been a good car not including the computer problems.
2004 Chev. Venture
I purchased this vehicle after owning a 2000 model and doing considerable research. This vehicle offers good mileage and good value for the money. I looked at newer SUVs and Vans, then discovered this model offers as good or better mileage, and just as much interior space for a lot less than new. Mileage first 5000 miles has averaged 23-27 MPG if driven reasonably.
Nice family van -- so issues
Got my van in Dec. 2009. I travel 12 miles on mostly a hilly expressway and get between 25 -26.5 per trip. Problems I've had are the horn stops working because of a fuse. I replace it and then 2 months later it blows again. Also I wanted to get bucket seats for the middle row but Chevy changed the seat design on the 2005. As a result you can only interchange these seats with another 2005 and they are IMPOSSIBLE to find. I've been trying for over a year. I have a side and middle seat and they are not comfortable on long trip. But I am happy with the van, rights nice, rattles a little but no major problems after 143,000 miles. I would buy another Venture only with bucket seats.
I still love this minivan
We bought this minivan because of the 8 passenger capability. It has some minor issues like the cup holders are awful, and clearing snow from the windsheild is a nightmare due to design. We had a sensor light fuse that cost $400 to replace because of access. But despite all of this I had an accident and rolled this minivan with my 4 children and we all walked away with out a scratch. We are getting another one.
Good but wet
Overall, the vehicle is mechanically sound. I have a little over 111,000 miles on it so far. 18-20 mpg? you may want to check how you drive. I can easily get 22 city and 26 highway. Just don't take off like a rocket and use cruise control. Through the mountains driving across the country we got about 24, fully loaded with household goods and such. Typical maintenance, oil, brakes, transmission fluid change. Never had anything major go wrong, thank you God. Good van. It has been spun out on a California interstate at 70 mph, 720 degrees worth of rotation, driven through the Rockies in summertime, through Arizona in the same. Strong vehicle. Maintain it, and it will take care of you.
NOT IMPRESSED
I had a Dodge Caravan that I drove for 4 1/2 years and loved it. I finally put it to rest with260,00 miles on it. Wish i bought another 1, but no, I bought a 2004 Chevy Venture. At first I thought it was a good purchase, but I found out I was wrong when I started having serious electrical problems, windows stopped working, abs light and engine light came on fuel guage fell to E and this annoying chime started sounding off continuously while driving, poer locks no longer work and then it left me stranded on the side of the road. All these problems are caused by a water leak somewhere and rotting all the wiring under the carpet. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. No longer a chevy fan
Old Brownie is still kicking!
I have had my 2004 Chevy Venture since 2004. I've raised my children in it. We have a picture on our garage wall of the day we bought it. It has been my favorite vehicle ever. It has 210,000 miles on it, has gone all over the United States, and is still running like a top. The only problem is a little rust because it is not kept in the garage. It is very comfortable...would rather drive it than my husband's new Ford Expedition. It hauls furniture and people, and it's never had a major problem. I would buy another if this one ever quits...until then, I'm not getting rid of it. I am adding an update 11/2019. Our van was involved in a wreck and totaled. I was very upset. I'd still be driving it if this hadn't happened. This was the best vehicle we have ever had. It rarely had any mechanical issues. I just kept up on the oil changes. I wouldn't hesitate to get another Chevy Venture. However, we found a Town and Country at a great price that we love too, but would've bought another Venture.

Best AWD model
Van drivability is extremely well durring the winter, thanks to the active AWD. The gas milage is also better than my former van, Mazda MPV. Ride is smooth and engine comes to life when entering highway speeds.
My gift
This vehicle was a gift to me for my fortieth birthday. The features in my Venture are exactly what I was looking for. Lots of room and storage. comfortable seats. The only thing that I have to get used to is if the interior lights are on in the evening the reflection is right in the rearview mirror and very hard to see. Other than that I am very pleased with my Venture. The person who got this gift for me had looked at minivans for six months and out of the dozens that they test drove and examined this one was their pick. Liked the feature of the air filter. I had not heard of this in a van, but think this will help keep the freshness of the van. Also will help my son with asthma.
Bland/Average Van
Average van, bland styling, brakes are weak,no storage pockets on the back of the front cap't seats, only one power sliding door, noisy cabin,no cassette player, not enough cup holders for middle row,DVD hard to reach/see when cup holders are being used, rear wiper streaks/doesn't work in cold weather. I thought I would get better gas milliage with such a small V6 engine. All in all this van is O.K, not bad, not impressive, just average. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on an import, this van would be a good deal.
Happy to be in the 2000'S Vehicles
I recently owned a 96 Ford Explorer 4 WD and wanted to upgrade my vehicle. I wanted a van and checked out our local car dealer for the first time. He gave me a good deal on my Ford and introduced me to a Venture Van! I loved it the minute I seen it, took it for a drive. I am a person who prays for guidance, pray for safe trip in the 4 directions while I drive and pray for my vehicle, that it runs good and takes me where I need to go! Today, I just purchased a used one! I still cannot believe I am driving a vehicle in the 2000's catagory! I am a person who buys what I can afford. I don't want car payments, as long as it runs good for me. I am blessed and thankful.
Great Van
Great Van for family or travel long distance. Almost two years old and have not had a single repair or had to take back to dealer.
Decent Vehicle
We bought our used 2005 Chevy Venture at the end of 2005 with about 30K miles. We now have 90K miles on it and have found it to be a dependable van. It seats 5 adults and 3 children comfortably with a nice amount of room left over for luggage or shopping items (extended version). It drives in a very "truck like" manner and the ride is sort of clunky; it is somewhat difficult to steer. It doesn't "line out" very easily going down the road until you get used to it. The springs are under-sized in my opinion. Brakes and suspension seem to be cheaply put together. Overall though it seems to be a mechanically sound vehicle and a good value compared to other more expensive options.
It Drives and Drives
Bought this is with 24K miles on it, 3.5 yrs later it's at 115K+ and we have had very few complaints. Very reliable, comfortable, great mileage. Got from Raleigh NC to Allenton PA on one tank of gas, with a little to spare. Numerous long trips to the Midwest with no complaints and lots of comfort. Plenty of city driving, too. Basic extended model, no whistles and bells but it does the job. AC stopped working on level 5 this summer, and 4yrs old messed up the CD player with pennies, but other than a set of brakes and some new belts, tires, general maintenance, have been surprisingly happy with an American made vehicle. Would recommend it!
Was ok at first
Vehicle purchased in California, where it did not rain very much at all. Moved to Virginia, when the rain came, the rain leaked through. So much got through the carpet had to be pulled out due to mildew. Mechanically (engine and Transmission) the van is still strong. However, the other (ABS system, sensors, brakes, wheel hubs) have all been an issue. Hub bearings and ABS sensors replaced, ABS light still comes on. Engine sensors can be a bit hectic to decipher and replace. When the van works it works well. However, that has not seemed to be the norm. The leak mentioned, has not been able to be figured out or fixed, the windshield has been resealed with polyurethane to no avail.
Mom mobile
I bought my 2004 Venture in 2008 used. Good gas mileage roomy rides good. Starting to have problems air went out at 100,000 miles. Rusting out bad on the panels below the doors and the paint is peeling. Am having trouble with driver side window. I now have only 117,000 miles on it . I would keep it forever but it is had it's good days . Other than routine repairs brakes etc it's been a really reliable van will hate to loose it.
Second Venture Van
This is my second Venture van. The first was totalled when it was rear ended at 50-60 MPH while I was stopped waiting for a traffic light. There was no choice for a replacement van except for the color-the dealer had about 90 Ventures in stock. I have toured the country with my first van. It had 77,000 miles on it when totalled and my present van has 38,000 trouble free miles. I don't understand the poor rating and comments you gave it. What are "coarse engine characteristics?"
2004 Venture
Great reliability over the last 5 years. Handling is good for a minivan. Road noise is minimal.
I love my Chevy Venture
I love my Chevy Venture. I look forward to driving it everyday. Sometimes I even make up excuses to drive it!! My daughter loves all of the room inside and I love the many features it came with. I love the rear park aid and the homelink system that allows me to open my garage door with my van! No garage door opener! This is an excellent vehicle and so family friendly!
Not a bad vehicle
Overall, a good van. The fuel gauge is horribly inaccurate and constantly fluctuates. It has decent power, and the gas mileage good. Not a bad vehicle.
Very reliable
Bought this van at 40,000 km. Now has 110,000 km. Absolutely no problems.
No need to spend big bucks
We have owned this Venture for almost 6 months now. We feel it is a bargain if you do not opt for all the add-ons that jack the price up so high. It comes equipped with a/c, power windows, locks, automatic, basically everything that is necessary. If you want a new minivan for around $20,000 you just can't go wrong. I can't see paying $10,000 extra for all the options thrown at you. It doesn't do a thing to the performance of the van as the engine, transmission are the same no matter what you pay. The engine is more than adequate and has no problem climbing the steep grades in western NC. The ride is fine and you can't beat the value.
Venture rating
We are really happy with our 1998 Venture. The mileage is great and the reliability has been great.
Ls chevy venture
Bought used in 2015 with 110k since then I've put 30k miles on it and it 2017. I've fixed the left wheel bearings and done oil changes and it's just been awesome to me many miles little maintenance. What more can you ask for?!?

my fun machine
this is one of the best vans that i have ever driven. i have driven all the way to virginia and back with it. i am now planning a trip to seattle, washington this year.
Venture Views
Overall, I am very satisfied with the venture. I like it's interior design, room comfort and ease/placement of controls. Visibility is as good as any minivans with the headrests now seemingly required in all seat positions we have bucket configurations. Acceleration could be better when a/c is in use - seems a little hesitant. Nice tight road handling for a large vehicle. Car like ride. Entertainment center has been a great distraction for those long family drives, or when carpooling waits take longer than expected :-) Dealer responsiveness by RAMP CHEVY particularly impressive!
Perfect vehicle for family vacations.
This is our second Chevy Venture Warner Brothers Edition. It is the perfect vehicle for an active family. There is nothing like a van for road trips/vacations. The Entertainment center keeps the peace. The only complaint has been the problematic air conditioning - had it in for service and they told me that it works just fine - but it doesn't hardly work at all! Love the fold down 3rd row seat and the 8 passenger capcity.
Jese
I have had safety issues with the side sliding doors. This problem exists with both the automatic and manual doors. I do not recommend anyone with small children buy this vehicle since Chevy has refused to fix this problem, even after being notified.
LOVE IT
We bought our car when it was a year old, but it is still great. I was looking at Chryslers and Dodges, but once I drove this, I was definitely sold over those models.
Well worth buying
Overall, it's well worth its money. That same day I went into the Toyota dealer and walked out and I'm glad I did and right into the Chevy dealership. Good on fuel, handles well, lots of space and the kids loved the DVD player.
Venture OK
I had to downsize from Suburbans and after adjusting I really like this van. You can't get more vehicle for the money. Its a shame GM does not have a mini-van in their line up now. I have been a loyal GM buyer for 25 + years but need to look at other options for new vans.
So far so good
Sure, I worried about being the 35 year old fdork in the mini van, the mommie mobile, but for the ability to load 8 people or a hell of a lot of mulch, doors and other stuff (the second and third rows come out of my LS with 2nd row bucket seats), to hell with what 20 something women think. Seriously, it's a good ride with good power and the price was right. I give hit high marks. However, since it's a chevy...talk to me in a year.
This van is great!
I used to own a Ford Windstar..this blows it away. The Traction control is wonderful.I have not slid once. The dvd player is a lifesaver with the kids. It is smooth and powerful. Gas mileage is great. I drove 335miles before filling up!
My problem
I've had my Venture for a little over 4 years. And have had nothing, but problems. Hub bearing has broken 2x since having it. 1x in first year. Sliding door does not stop if something is in between it. I should have checked the engine area more and would have never have bought it. Battery is cover by other parts as well as the air filter; things I've maintain on the other Chevy's previously. Window motor had to be replaced 2 yrs into having van. I love Chevy's, but I'm disappointed in the Venture. I bought for my sons to have room and trips, but it's a headache.
Wouldn't trade for anything!
I thought I would never own a mini-van; that is until I was pregnant with my 3rd child! I love the convenience of getting kids in and out of their carseats without having to bend over (like in a car), or stand on your tip toes (like a truck). Kids love the DVD player. Great highway mileage, and goes great through the snow.
Very Good Van From GM
This van is remarkable. I have had it since it had 18,000 miles on it. I have done all maintenance that is required and it runs beautifully. I have one gripe, small things that go wrong on this van make me mad. The passenger window wont work, and the drivers side rear brake light wont work. Other than that the Van runs great and has been a surprise coming from GM. I was worried when I bought it. Gas Mileage is about 21 hwy and 18 cty. Brakes need constant adjustment. But work well
I really love my venture
best vehicle i have ever owned
Love this van
Traded in a Chrysler on this van ,Chev is quieter, quicker and delivers 24to26 mpg at highway speeds.Little road and wind noise compared to Chrysler van. (trade in was a 2000 model)
So far, so Good
A dream on the highway, comfortable for everyone. Interior seems a little cheap for the price you pay. Lots of plastic.
Comfortable interior/rough riding
Very satisfied with the seating capacity and interior roominess. Designed to be able to do a lot with the seating (i.e. 2nd row features individual bucket seats and 3rd row is fold down for major storage capacity in rear of vehicle. Very good on gas mileage. Vehicle does not handle well. Typical of front wheel drive vehciles. Does not perform well on substandard roads. You feel too many bumps.
TAKES A LICKIN
Loved this van when it first came out. I work on them at work{rent-a-car} and they are very reliable and can take a ton of beating. If you have a family this is the vehicle for you.
Chevy Venture
I have had Chevy Venture for 8 mo. love how it handles. good gas mileage. thanks
It's a venture!
We find this a great vehicle for traveling, which we do a lot of. Has some rattles in dash and headliner feels a little loose.
Chevy Venture
We are very pleased with our Warner Brothers Venture. It is a fantastic value for the money.
great family vehcle
Enjoy the carlike handling and smooth ride. Lots of leg room and cargo space. Engine has great performance in town and on the highways. Not at all like driving a bulky van. But has all the features we wanted in that class of vehicle.
Venture Adventure
This 2004 Vent is my 2nd Venture. 1999 was the first. Traded at 73K miles I found it to be a secure, dependable mini with economy and reasonably reliable. I used the 99 for both business and pleasure and it performed well. Now 5years later, with Onstar and DVD, and leather we lookforeward to enjoying this one in our real retirement years. It has earned its way.
excellent
It is a great Mini-van, I like it.
