Used 2002 Chevrolet Tracker Consumer Reviews
My ZR2
Reliable and agile on snow, 4WD capabily on-the-fly is a nice touch, helps you save gas. I get very poor mileage, even in 2WD mode 95% of the times, I get 15-18 mpg, which is unexceptable given the fact that the truck is so light. It was build poorly as well, the drivers door is falling apart already after only 40K miles! The driver side visor also broke off. The trunk light inside never goes off! I have black tape over it. Asides the problems, its a very fun car to drive. Its quite fast, the light weight teamed with the V-6 makes it take off very quickly. Very noisy in the cabin, feels like it floats during light winds, or 80+ mph it swirvs left and right!
Regretful Purchase
I have owned this vehicle for 5 years now & cannot wait to get rid of it. There is absolutely no pep to the car very sluggish. If you happen to hit a bump in the road the vehicle actually jumps. The ride is rough and the vehicle will only go into 4wd when the car is at a complete stop which can be very inconvient. Drivers side window has squeeked ear splitting since almost day one. Brought it in to the dealer stopped squeeking for about 6 mths & then came back. Back door on drivers side will not open. Lock will not pull up for nothing. Windows fog up continuously in the winter so defrost has to stay on.

Great Car
I bought this car because I wanted something versatile and suited to outdoor adventures, but which would also be practical for city driving -- that is exactly what this car is. I took it offroading in the Northern California wilderness and in Death Valley several times, and the Tracker proved itself to be tough, well-built, and the short wheel base lets it go almost anywhere. Unfortunately, the short wheel base is also the most negative aspect of the car. It was very squirrely on the freeway and I spun out a few times on wet or snowy roads. When I blew out a tire on I5, the car spun out of control and was totaled. The squirrely-ness of the car is my only complaint - no mechanical problems.
Good for the Money
Bought a lease return in its first year and was my first "American" vehicle purchase in over twenty years. Loving the value I got from paying 1/2 the price for a new one and also the continued trouble free operation. Four wheel drive has been more than handy in three blizzard occasions. The top comes off easily enough and gives you a wide open feel with big windows for full visibility.

This car is a huge value...I would recommend it to anyone looking for a small 4WD SUV
