LTZ Magnetic Suspension Problems

I have put just under 5000 miles on my '15 LTZ 4x4, and take serious issue with the ride quality of this car. This is my 3rd full-size GM SUV in 10 years, and the LTZ magnetic suspension this year is, by far, the roughest riding I have ever experienced. I purchased this "top of the line" model due to great luck and comfort experienced with previous Tahoe/Yukon's with adaptive suspensions, but this one fails to deliver. I paid out another $800 on a tire upgrade about 2000 miles ago (to Michelin LTXs) and the ride quality is still unacceptably harsh. I really hope GM is listening, as i am contemplating trading this car in, and giving up on my life-long love for GM products.

I've Ditched German Engineering for USA!

After owning 6 Mercedes (and 1 Volvo, 1 Toyota, and 1 BMW,) I've turned to the good old USA. My last car was a 2009 MB ML 320 Bluetec, and was nothing but serious, expensive trouble. And the main reason I started looking at the American made vehicles was because I just got sick and tired of the constant insane maintenance costs. So my expectations weren't super high when I walked into the Chevy dealer. But I was instantly surprised when I got into the new 2015 Tahoe. Now that I have 32K miles on the odometer (I drive a LOT!), I have to say that I love it even more. After all of the supposed "luxury" cars I've owned over the years, this Tahoe seems to be the best built, most comfortable, and nicest riding car/truck. The ergonomics are excellent. Great stereo, GPS, Rear camera, etc. I do mostly highway driving, and I've been getting 24-25mpg on the highway, with a high of 26.5mpg. Around town i get 21-22mpg. Handling is spot on, and always feel well controlled and safe. I have towed with it, and actually forgot that the loaded trailer was even back there! Plus, I think it really is a great looking SUV. I wish that the rear floor was lower. That's my only complaint. The dealers have been great. I have yet to pay for any service, so out of curiosity I recently asked what my oil changes will cost after warranty. About $40! I never escaped from the Mercedes dealer for less than $250! My father has the Ford Expedition, and used to love it until he drove my Tahoe. Now he is Tahoe Shopping. UPDATE: I now have 52000 miles on the clock, and I love this car even more. Why did I waste so many years and dollars on those stupid German status symbols??? I'm out of my free service period, so I had to pay for my last service. The dealer did the oil change (synthetic,) tire rotation, all fluids, state inspection, and a few other little things. The total was well under $100! That same service at the MB dealer was always way over $250, and they would ALWAYS find another $600+ of things that absolutely had to be done. This Tahoe remains tight (no squeaks or rattles,) super comfortable, very competent in the snow and heavy rain, and a joy to drive. No complaints at all. My mileage has dropped a little to the 21mpg overall range. But I am due for tires, and I'm sure that the mileage will pick back up with some quality high carbon tires. More updates to come! UPDATE 8/9/16: As mentioned, I drive a LOT! I just passed the 70K mile point, and I still LOVE this car! This Chevy is more reliable, more comfortable, and seemly better made than any of my last 3-4 Mercedes. There are zero signs of wear, suspension is still tight, no squeaks or rattles, and everything works perfectly. It's a shame that I am so surprised by how good this car is! I just had new tires installed, and I went with the same OEM tires that came on the Tahoe: Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max. They lasted 70K miles without any issues, they ran quiet, had good grip in all conditions (I don't encounter much snow,) and they're inexpensive. But I've had to return to the tire shop a couple times due to flat spots on one of the new tires. Same tire being replaced for the 3rd time! So back to the Tahoe... I still love it. Zero problems. And still seems brand new after 70K miles. What more can you ask for? Update 8/9/17: Yes... I drive a LOT! I now have 107K miles on the Tahoe. I'm afraid to jinx it, but I have honestly had zero issues, and the Tahoe is nearly as tight as when I bought it. No squeaks, rattle, or trim pieces falling off. The suspension is almost as tight as new, but you can tell it has a few miles on it now. It is a bit softer over big bumps, but still smooth and quiet, and the steering is still perfect. Mileage is unchanged. I've been able to spend more time just poking around the car, and I really am impressed with the construction, fit, and finish. I will probably be replacing the front rotors within the next 10K miles, as I'm getting a little rumble during hard front load braking. (Still on original pads!) I'm thinking that this may be a car that I'll hang onto for a while! 2/12/18 Update... 112K+ miles and still like new. The mileage has dropped a little, but I think that may be partially due to the newer tires (AT tires instead of highway... not as comfortable!) The service center guys say that after I do full/major service that mileage should come back up. Other than that, all is still perfect! I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. 2/12/19 Update... Absolutely no change... Again, after owning so many "High End Luxury" vehicles over the years, I simply can not believe how well this Tahoe has performed and held together. I just rolled over 150K miles, and I have had zero problems, issues, or disappointment. Besides being dirty, it really isn't much different that when I first rolled it off the dealer lot. Rock solid. 2/1/21: After 196K trouble free miles, I traded her in on a new Escalade!

Had a '12, now have the '15. The difference is a great surprise between the two. Its quieter, handles better and is more comfortable then the previous one. This time I have the 4x4 and Im still getting better gas mileage than I was on the '12 4x2. 600 miles so far and averaging 19, and I live up a steep incline. Nav system is WAY better than previous. Mine is sliver with gray leather, 22" wheels with the luxury package

2015 Chevy Tahoe Problems

Purchased the 2015 Chevy Tahoe new. 38,000 miles on it now and have owned it 2 1/2 years. Traded a 2000 Chevy Tahoe with 220,000 miles on it that we also purchased new in 2000. Awesome Tahoe, I miss it now. The issues we've experienced since owning the 2015, in order. Steering column popped during steering in parking lots during parking or in town driving. Steering bearing kit replaced. Steering wheel begin to pop again 5 days later. I complained and demanded an entire steering column be replaced. Dealership agreed and it was an all day job replacing it. A year later. Steering is still excellent, no problem. Next, climate control knob broke on front passenger side. Had to use the sync button to control temp until repaired. Next, dash board panel above odometer bubbled up and was replaced. Next, three side panels by the window broke in a car wash, had to endure an 8 hour car drive with whistling noises outside everyone's window. I've read they could fly off into traffic, so I had to tape them all down for the drive. The Tahoe metal body is like a thin beer can. It dents really easily. I've even had acorns drop on it from an oak tree. No kidding, small dents from that. The hood metal is so thin, it flexes up and down rapidly, during highway driving and is very distracting. Next, the Continental tires it comes with are the worst as far as wear goes. They drive nice but wear terrible. We will need new tires at about 45,000 miles. The worst problem yet, the air conditioning no longer works. We've been stuck with driving a hot Chevy Tahoe with no AC for over a week and are told the part will not be in for another 4 days. I read that there is a design flaw on the air conditioning unit. There is no bracket that secures the line coming out of the compressor that produces 350 psi. Every time the compressor kicks on, the tube flexes and over time, will crack and all of the Freon will leak out and destroy the condenser. It only effects 2015 Chevy Tahoes. So it you own a 2015 Chevy Tahoe, you're air conditioner will go out, it is a matter of time. GM will not fix it prior to the failure. They will not issue a recall on it, it is not a safety issue. The condenser is on back order due to the high demand on replacing them on the 2015 Chevy Tahoe, only. Bottom line, I'm not convinced I'm going to make 220,000 miles on this 2015 Chevy Tahoe like I did with my other Tahoe. That 2000 Chevy Tahoe was a tank. This 2015 Chevy Tahoe seems to love going to the dealership repeatedly. Once the extended warranty that I purchased runs out, I'm going to be extremely nervous about what will happen next to this 2015 Chevy Tahoe. Again, it only has 38,000 miles on it and we purchased it new. I'm shaking my head on the idea of that. 65K for a Giant Beer Can that keeps falling apart. What a shame GM.

2015 Tahoe interior leak

I bought a 2015 Tahoe less than 45 days ago and its been in the shop twice for interior leaking. They can't seem to find the issue so their solution at this point is to rip down the headliner and remove the insulation and put silicone on the frame. They also told me that my head room will end up being lower and they will put less insulation in. I have made a complaint to Chevrolet and I don't think they care. I do not want this vehicle and I am requesting another. For 65000.00 they should take their lemon back and give me another one. The dealer told me Chevy will not put me in a new one. I also found out from the dealer that there are two other Tahoes in the USA with the same issue and they

2015 Failed Transmission at about 4K miles

David N, 02/28/2016
2015 Chevrolet Tahoe LS 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 6A)
14 of 14 people found this review helpful

I bought this LS 2015 Tahoe new in Sept 2015. I thought this Tahoe would give me confidence and safety on the road in Dallas, TX. I really like the SUV in the first 3K miles or so. I took it easy on the SUV in breaking it in. In the first couple of weeks after I got it from Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson, TX the driver door rattles. I took it back in and the dealer fixed in the same day. But this shouldn't happened in the first place on such an expensive SUV. I own two Acura MDXs, but wanted a bigger truck for towing of a boat in the near future. At around 3K-4K miles I noticed that the SUV make a "clunk" metallic sounds intermittently when I stop and start at stop sign. It also started to shift weird and at times slip into "neutral" after I accelerate at stop light. When this happens the Tahoe lost acceleration and the RPM goes to 3.5-4K. I almost got hit from behind a few times. I had to let of the gas peddle and wait for the RPM to return to about 1K before a gear would catch and the SUV move again. I brought the it in for the dealer to check it out and have the oil change around 4.5K mile. My dealer service advisor told me that they find nothing wrong with the Tahoe. They said there was no code. I told them that I am not wasting my time to bring the SUV in for no reason. I took the SUV back to the dealer after a few days later after I had a close call with my family in the SUV. It came to a stop light on a down hill street and I felt the transmission shift a somewhat weird. When the light turn green, I press the gas peddle lightly to go, but the engine rev-up and RPM go way up to about 4-5K but the Tahoe just sat there. Luckily no one hit me from behind. I had to shift it to park and then shift it back past DRIVE to M1 to get the Tahoe to move. I got home and tried to back it into my garage, it didn't catch a reverse gear to backup. I gave it some gas, it abruptly jerk back and almost slammed into my garage. Upset and scare of drive the Tahoe is an understatement at this point. I took it back to my dealer the next day to have it inspect and fix. The dealer gave me a Traverse for a loaner. I left the Tahoe with them for almost two weeks. They said they had to replace the 3,4,5,6, reverse, and the input rod. The input rod was broken. I looked up this rod, it is a major bar of metal that would take a super force to break. I am not a transmission engineer, but replacing four gears and reverse out of a six gear transmission seems excessive and stupid. They should replace the whole transmission. They still don't know what caused the transmission to wrecked all of those gears and clutch. I am not scare to drive my "safety" SUV. GM is giving me the run around instead of addressing this SAFETY issue. I will have to push a Texas Lemon law soon if GM does not make it right for me. I am tire of being the SAFETY Beta tester for them. When this transmission cause a problem of locking up on an on ramp or in the middle of a high speed slowdown and accelerate on a highway. You can imaging what kind of a wreck that may be. I am sharing my experience with the readers of the website and hope that the new Tahoe potential buyer to consider carefully before buying one. Oh and when GM service rep calls about by issue after I went on social media site and voice my concern about the safety of drive my Tahoe, she always warn me about the call being record. The next time I too will warn them that I will have the conversation record also to see what happen. I will update this post as I work through GM warranty. I will report the good, bad and ugly. Update March 14, 2016 The dealer service department finally acknowledge that there was something wrong with the power train or transmission. I learned that GM warranty controls how the dealer repair the SUV by only authorizing certain fixes. When it was done (repaired, not really) the service advisor at the dealer told me that they had to replace gear 3,4,5,6 and reverse, some cluthes, and an input rod on the transmission. They called it fix and I took the SUV back. Within a couple of days driving it acted up again, very similar to before, slipping into neutral and not shifting out of first and second or third gear. It jsut feel stuck in between gear at time. I finally got in touch with the GM warranty person that I was working with, she told me to take it back to the dealer to let them check it out. I did that what she asked. The dealer kept my SUV for a couple of days and then called to tell me that they cannot find any code or problem. I took it back and drove it to Houston, TX from Dallas, TX on Mach 4, 2016 for vacation. The SUV slip to neutral on the drive down. It does not move forward or reverse while I tried to park the SUV at a hotel parking lot. I had to let of the gas peddle each time and wait for a gear to catch. I have problem with it every time I drive it.

I have wanted a Tahoe for quiet sometime, I had settled on finding a used one. However my husband made the mistake of "just looking" at the newest model. I loved the new design and figured it would look new longer with the new body style. 1st time at the shop: there were some defects in the cabin, armrest needing loosening, and when you sat down in one of the rear captains chairs it made a weird popping sound. Had to order a new base. 2nd time at the shop (in less than a month) replacing seat base, and the AC went out, on a family vacation. To add to it, the driver seat is now popping when raising to my "setting". Also there is no lighting in the rear area, and you can not see.

Within the last 8 years, I've driven a Pilot, Expedition, a 2011 Explorer, and now a Tahoe. Without a doubt, my Tahoe has been #1 in my experience, even though I loved my Ford SUVs. After driving it for roughly 11 months and for over 15,000 miles, I've had absolutely no issues with anything at all. I can easily fit two large car seats in the second row (captain chairs) and can comfortably fit another two car seats in the third row whenever we have extra kiddos with us. With the third row folded down, I'm easily able to fit all 3 of my dogs (2 big boxers and a very husky pug)! It handles exceptionally well for its size; gets better mpg than even my '11 Explorer got, and is easy to drive!

Review articles on google with users complaining about vibration and a/c issues. I've had my vehicle less than a year and have estimated over $6k in repairs. There are no GM recall as for the poor workmanship of these vehicles. I've owned tahoes of 2004 and 2008 and NEVER had issues like I see with these vehicles. Do your homework before making the plunge

Only 1000 miles on the truck so far so I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but I really like this truck. I've owned Honda, Acura and Audi. Next to the Audi this is the smoothest driving and best looking vehicle I've owned. 5.3 has plenty of power to move it. Trans is a little squirrely on downshifts. Sure MPG's could be better, but 16 and 23 on highway is spot on. Recently traded in a 2014 MDX Tech which I hated. Full of hard to use tech. Tahoe however is hi-tech & easy to use.The nav system flat out works. Understands voice commands, typing in address is as easy as it can get. Real-time weather app for road trips. third row is tight, and capt chairs should slide. overall very happy w Tahoe! ** update several years later **. I ended up getting rid of the 2015 tahoe after I realized I had backaches after driving for any length of time. Turns out the steering wheel is several inches off center from the seat. Forced me to lean while driving and after 30 mins, the rock hard seat combined with the off center driving position was killing my back and neck. Come on Chevy- that’s a basic engineering fail. Additionally, the gas mileage seemed to keep getting worse. Was getting 12-13 city, 17-18 highway (I don’t drive 65 in the hwy). Bose system was lackluster and muddy for a nearly $70k vehicle. I live the big vehicle - gm fixed the steering wheel position in recent model years.

I have had 5 Tahoe since 1996 and this is the first one that I bought and had to returned to the dealer for fixing within 20 miles The back door is malfunctioning doesnt open/close automatically. Also several visible blemish on the exterior paint were detected. The ride is weird and the 1 second response to pressing the gas pedal is very odd. The bottom of the front seat is very narrow and has very little padding you fill the 2 brackets after 15 minutes driving. The center console is too wide and the hatch bother the driver side. The front end of the hood is way too highm about 3 inches higher that 2014 body the driver can not see when parking the other car gas millage 14mpg

Terrible throttle response, very annoying. Body moldings falling off. Back hach door leaks, back window leaks. Back wiper does not clean the window. Ac went out. Geared way to high, constantly shifting. Cabin buffering is significant on any slightly rough surface. Raidio went out. Hood flutters when going down highway the metal os so thin. Back hach door dont close tight. Cargo floor is raised and sloped twards the door, when you open the hatch the grocerys fall out . Iv talked with many other owners of this vehicle and its the same story, gm just keeps passifiying you until the warranty is up. These problems all still exist after multiple shop hrs. 2017 is still the same crap. The old tahoe was a proven solid machine. Gm should be ashamed of this thing. No more gm for me.

This is the first Chevy I have owned. At 46, I have owned numerous Fords, but wife loved the look of the Tahoe so decided to take a chance. I put based used in August 2017 just as factory warranty had expired. 4 months later AC is out. Looks like it would s a common problem and very costly. Guess I should have stayed loyal to Ford.

I purchase the vehicle for my wife and I’m the beginning it was great. Fast forward 3 years of ownership the truck leaks when it rains under drivers visor, the back seat hard case fell off, the navigation has quite working three times. I’m currently on a vacation out of state with no navigation and I’m going to trade this Leaky truck in next week, because when you spend 60 grand you should expect for your vechile to not need an a drip pan underneath it. I would not recommend this truck to anyone.

I've owned 3 Suburbans prior to downsizing to the Tahoe. I selected the LT model, full leather, heated seats and steering wheel….. etc. The electronics on this are pretty detailed yet it does NOT have navigation. Totally unacceptable for a $60k vehicle. Nav and texting on screen are available in Chevy's very inexpensive sedans, yet to acquire such sought after technology in the Tahoe, you need to spend another $8k. Complete BS. THIS may be my last Chevy.

I’ve read a bunch these reviews and had to add my 2 cents worth. I’ve been buying full size Chevy Blazers since 1975, and Tahoe’s since they changed the name. I always buy the new body style within a year of introduction, and keep it until the next one comes out. I traded my 2007 LTZ (which was a great truck for 135,000 miles) for my 2015 LTZ. I thought they’d never top the 07, but the 15 definitely raised the bar again! More power, two more gears, better fuel economy. The acceleration is more than adequate for a 6000 lb vehicle. My 2015 has every option except the power running boards. The magnetic ride control and air ride suspension is amazing, it rides like a luxury car. And I will never go back to standard cruise control since being spoiled by adaptive cruise control. I’ve driven it 75,000 miles to date. Averaged close to 20 mpg over those miles. The power train has been bullet proof. I change the oil with mobil one every 5k miles and run a tank of premium gas once a month or when I’m towing. I changed all the differentials fluids every 50,000 as suggested. I purchased the extended bumper to bumper coverage at 35,000 miles, well worth the $2,000 (since I knew I’d be driving it 6-7 years). That covers me until 115,000 which should last until the 2020 arrives. Had a few issues that have been taken care of quickly by the dealer. Did have the AC fail three years in, but it was fixed in a week. The heated steering wheel failed twice, dealer replaced them no charge. The rear hatch defroster wires broke off a few times, dealer soldered them back on. That happens with every one I’ve ever owned, wish they could figure out a better set up. After the being soldered twice they replaced the rear glass hatch (covered). I replaced the OEM Bridgestone tires early on with Michelin’s. Truck still has the original brake pads! And I do trailer my old car to shows with this Tahoe. The built in trailer brake system works great. This Tahoe tows it easily, although it kills the mpg’s. Love the heated/cooled seats too. I don’t know how they will make the next Tahoe better than this one, but they haven’t let me down yet and it’s been going on for 40 years! Suggestions to GM - Some larger mirrors would be nice! And I did lose my front tow hooks (which I miss) when I opted for adaptive cruise control. Hopefully the next Tahoe will offer both. Making the 6.2 V8 optional would also be nice, and I’m looking forward to the 10 speed automatic, read good reviews on it.

Chevy has Raised the Bar

I've owned this Chevy Tahoe LT 4x4 for 15 months, and logged about 20k miles. It's a great vehicle. I own two other high end new import cars, both with window stickers over $100k. I prefer to drive my Tahoe. It's quiet, comfortable, and great to drive. I drive in all conditions, and haven't found one that the Tahoe feels out of place in. I tow a 6,500 boat regularly too. My only negative would be for off road, I'd need to take off the front lower air dam to improve the ground clearance, but I've seen that it comes off pretty easily. I get, at best 21mpg hwy and 15mpg city, so the EPA numbers are a bit off from my experience. In other cars, I usually beat the EPA numbers.

Design flaws will cost you a bunch 2015 LTZ

Wind deflector sits 8 inches from ground when tires inflated at max 40+ psi. Catches tire stops and when backing out, binds deflector and rips deflector off and pulls front fender out. Both items have to be replaced. Cost 1400.00$. I've had this to happen to my LTZ twice in 6 months. There is no solution that does not revoke warranty. GM Rep aware of problem but won't help. Should be concidered under the lemon law. GM don't care. I can see low deflector on small cars, but not a high sitting car (AKA TRUCK FRAME) wish someone told me before I bought it, I would have chosen another suv.

New Fuel Saving Technology burns oil

We have had the Tahoe for 4 years and generally love this rugged and roomy vehicle. All the features and performance are as we expect, but with one glaring exception. The engine comes with "cylinder disabling technology" and this means that sometimes your big V8 will shut off 4 of the 8 cylinders and downgrade to a V4 at low speeds and while doing econo-driving. This is a great assist for fuel economy but the bottom line is those four dead cylinders are still attached to the crankshaft and are being dragged along. An apparent unintended consequence of this technology is much higher than normal oil consumption. It took us awhile to figure out where all the disappearing oil on a brand new vehicle went to, but indeed, after about 2 years of testing we have figured out these big Tahoe's with the V4/V8 technology will consume about a quart of oil every 1300-1500 miles. That means you won't even make it a full 5000 miles between oil changes without the low oil alerts coming on, and you will need to supplement the oil level with 2 to 3 quarts before you get to your regular scheduled oil change. GM can make a nice non-oil burning V8 in their sleep, but they seem to be struggling with this technology that switches it down to a V4. Frankly, I like the vehicle so much, that I don't mind putting in a quart of oil every 1500 miles or so, but the wife is almost foaming at the mouth about the issue.

I'm a big fan of the Chevy SUV lineup. Prior owner of 3 suburbans and now the Tahoe. Previously went Suburban because you just cant beat the ride of that long wheelbase. The current Tahoe body Style 2015-on has really nearly perfected the ride, so I downsized. Generally thrilled with the unit. Very disappointed that the LT model does not have Nav, but somehow I survived. The mileage is excellent. On a 40-50 MPH road I can get north of 23MPG, Highway drops to sub 20 easily. Items of concern. Visibility in the Tahoe is pretty poor. Lots of blind spots. The worse of which is if you are trying to back up, especially on diagonal parking. I find myself really using the back up camera and sensors. The action in the seat is very helpful for the exterior sensors, although after my last detailing from the dealer the seat clicks or clunks on certain turns. Most recently the A/C failed and I'll be bringing it back to the dealer for repair. No way a AC should fail in this vehicle in this year, so we'll see. The GM line of SUV's really fits my lifestyle and nothing else comes close, but at these prices, if the vehicle doesn't continue to wow me, I'll take another sharp turn toward increasing my savings and retirement then forking out big dough on vehicles. Make me proud GM.

There are numerous issues with the Tahoe’s. GM really failed in making a quality suv here. They look great, but looks are deceiving. You will spend plenty of time & money in your GM service center. I wish I’d known before I purchased bc I’d have went with another brand suv. Shame on GM for putting a constant problem vehicle on the market. Stay Away !!

I have had Toyota 4Runner, BMW X5 (biggest piece of crap), Lexus GX 460, Cadillac SRX, and Nissan Armada. The Tahoe is comfortable, quiet, and smooth. It looks awesome. But there are a couple problems. 1) The tires suck. It may be because I have a Z71 but I do not find this vehicle stable in rainy conditions, sometimes glides when hitting puddles. 2) The car is defective. It lets in exhaust from other vehicles on the highway for some reason, it makes me really sick. I have had it checked at the dealer, they can't find anything wrong. I believe this is a GM problem, and they are aware of it. Some sort of defect in manufacturing. None of my previous cars ever had this problem. This is the only problem that really bothers me and the reason I wont be getting another GM vehicle when the lease ends.

BE AWARE!!!!! Air conditioning goes out due to faulty welds in the compressor and the Mag ride suspension fails as well. Both or EXPENSIVE repairs and not backed by GM at all! There is a class action suit for the air conditioning but so far not the suspension. Beautiful and luxurious vehicle just basically a LEMON that GM will not fix. Wish I knew all of this when I purchased it. Was always my dream vehicle, GM ruined that for me.

This SUV was not my first choice for hubby, but I had the opportunity to drive it long distance for a dance competition and this SUV delivered beyond expectations! The stunning chocolate/mahogany interior and ease of interior appointments were great and easy to use. The comfortable ride made a long trip tolerable. Agree that the 3rd seat option is cozy at best, and limited trunk area when it is used. Luckily it is not used often. If you are looking for a nice ride, comfort and feeling somewhat safe when driving, this is the SUV to have! Actually, really love it!

We love our new Tahoe 4x4 LTZ! We've had it for 3 months and taken it on long trips and towed our 7,000 lb boat 6 hours to the beach and back. It truly excels at every task. My wife calls it the perfect truck for town and country. We love the 3rd row folding seats, the entertainment system, the towing and braking capabilities, comfort, and look of the Tahoe. It's just been a great vehicle for us and we wanted to share our opinion. Although I read lots of reviews, I've never written one before. I was happy to take a few moments to tell you why we love our truck and recommend it to you if you're considering it versus any other large SUV.

there are not enough space in back, try to get the jack out when you have flat tire most of the technology on this truck wont work, the dealer and GM does not support the customer to fix the problem ,I have an LTZ model and I have so many problems with it I ask everyone to think good before buying this truck, some of the problem I have this 2015 Tahoe are, automatic lift gate sticks open sometimes and wont close with I push the close push button, some times the door steps get stuck and open pull out when I open the door, one day I was driving and notice that I lost the lights on bottom dash board where the climate control are I had to stop turn the truck off and restart it ,my driver seat keep breaking the dealer fix it ones and the problem came back again, and the last thing on it so far was when I push the start /stop button to turn the truck off the truck did not shut off I had to push the button few times til the engage shut off,I will keep update on this page on any new problems I will have on my truck to make everyone aware of this truck and let them think twice before buying since GM does not care about the customer.

I've owned 5 different tahoe/suburbans over the last 30 years. Stay away from the 2015 model. This vehicle has gotten fatter and has new blind spots. You can no longer look left to see cars on the drivers side-you must use your mirrors to see cars near you. The rear wiper stops in your line of vision, before swiping again, instead of returning to its normal starting place. There is no GPS, only ONSTAR. I use my phone GPS, but it rarely connects with the sound system. It turns out, this is a known issue, and will only work properly if you do not have the radio on! The bluetooth rarely connects. I've had the backup camera and console go completely blank numerous times-dangerous!

Worst tahoe ever. Took away front tow hooks, 373 gears, low range ,removable back seats, body panel are thin as a pop can . Dents easily. Body trim panels blew off in car wash. Computer went out. AC went out. Back door leaks. Constantly gear hunting and shifting. Terrible for town driving. Backup camera is useless on the radio screen! Door handles very cheep. Interior molding cheep end scratch and smudge easily. Lots of cabin issues on bumpy roads, uncomfortable rattling ect.

I have been driving my 2015 Tahoe LTZ for awhile now and I have to say I think it is a fantastic vehicle. In the past I have driven a 2011 Tahoe LTZ and think the current generation is an upgrade in every since. I agree with other reviewers that the ride with magnetic ride control is different than with the air shocks, but I like the ride not feeling as "floaty." The interior trim and finish is worlds better than it was. I know it is a much more expensive vehicle now but it feels like it too. So far I am extremely please with the car and believe that is probably the way the majority of those who actually own one feel.

Costumer support from General Motors in non existent. If the dealership can't give you an answer to your problem calling GM customer service will really deflate any confidence you have in GM. The engine shakes at idle. Answer shim the motor mounts. When that doesn't work check the shims. When that doesn't work maybe take a couple out. That is GM's answer. I loose 3 miles to the gallon on cruise control. Vehicle stays in V8 90% of the time even on flat surfaces. Last thing is I have memory seats that go back and the steering wheel raises when the vehicle is shut off. When I unlock the door to enter the seat goes to my driving position before entry making it difficult to get in. If I get in with the door unlocked the seat stays in the exit position so when you drive off you have to fumble with the buttons near the floor in the dark and hold the #1 until the seat returns to the drive position. Sorriest excuse for a car company. Never went foreign but I think it is time.

Weird things with this truck. I got it new and and made my husband give me back my 2012 gmc acadia. The electronics are so confusing and need so much attention it is silly. It is a car, for goodness sake. They Are hard to use. And too many require a subscription to use. Do not make a whole app for weathr if after my tirla I need to pay for it! Misleading. Major design flaw is the back storage area is not flat and tilts out toward the back of th car. I have lost quite a few gallons of milk because they fall out when the hatch is opened. Who designed it? Overall way too expensive for a bunch of nonsense electrical features that are difficult to learn to use and stupis storage area.

Traded a MBZ for a Chevy! If you are into status and frustrating electronics, don't buy a Tahoe. But if you want a great vehicle that is user friendly, then its the Tahoe. This is one BMW/MBZ/Jaguar owner who has just had enough of those brands. After spending $1800 replacing stupid Pirelli tires on my MBZ after three blowout/flats and having to sue MBZ for restitution because they blew me off, I decided to move on. Love my new Tahoe! Still perfect after 22,500 miles....

GM out did themselves on the redesign of the 2015 Tahoe . I have always been a chevy truck guy and this time they raised the bar substantially in quality looks and performance. I do wish it was able to achieve better fuel economy but the other attributes far outweigh the 14 mpg in town in my opinion. In this day in age you need all the safety features you can get and this vehicle provides just that. From the turn signals in the mirror warning other traffic of your intentions to the various sensors warning you of traffic around you to the heads up display this vehicle had it all.The Nav system is the most user friendly I have seen in any vehicle I have been in and which includes Audi and Mercedes.Overall it gets an A with the only exception being the fuel economy

The fuel management system has the ability to cut off four specific cylinders. The problem is those four cylinders have different lifters. I now have a dead No.7 cylinder. The fix is very expensive. This is a huge design flaw. Do not buy any Chevy truck with this system.

It’s a great vehicle. No major problems in the 6 years I owned it. I had the Tahoe and my wife had a VW beetle. It was time to go to just one medium size suv. That is the only reason I gave it up.

Super great truck/SUV, very impressive and we find new things the vehicle communicates every day! Love it.

I traded my '07 Tahoe for a new one and am regretting it. My seat heater takes 20+ minutes to heat up, the backup camera looks as if there is dense fog outside with poor color, the "newly designed" transmission skips gears shifting upward and downward. The throttle hesitation is so apparent it makes you think twice before passing another car unless road is completely clear. The water pump needed replacement at 17k miles! The outside temperature reader is 15-20 degrees off on warm days, but they say you need to drive the car over five miles without stopping...hmmm. I do like the seat coolers, steering wheel warmer and the stereo speakers can carry pretty good bass. All of the issues are claimed (by GM) to be part of the new design. After owning two Suburbans and two Tahoes, they have lost a loyal customer for good. Don't waste over $60k on a poorly engineered SUV.
