Love the Malibu

My first Malibu and it’s the RS model. I don’t understand why some people talk bad about the Malibu. I understand it’s not super fast which I wish the engine had more power. But it’s a sexy car and I love the room in the driver cabin it’s smooth and affordable. And made in America. I had three Hondas and they all gave out before 120,000 miles one of them. The heads blew out the other one that transmission went out and the other one the reverse went out. So I could be trashing Honda , but I choose not too. I love the 2024 Malibu RS and LT.

I disagree with the reviews saying that you have to floor it to pass on interstate. I find the power is plenty adequate, but nothing special. It is not the quietest new car on the road I agree, but it is not egregiously loud. You get what you pay for here, which is the cheapest vehicle in class, which is a reliable, gas sipping sedan with plenty of cargo space and great exterior looks. If you want a hi tech, powerful sedan, bring 15k extra and head to Cadillac.

I traded my 2004 Malibu for the 2024, which was a great car for a long time. When I sat in the new car, it was just as comfortable as the old car. It has new and improved things to learn to operate and enjoy but not intimidating for an older person. I love the heated seats!

Nice styling, easy controls, good gas mileage would be 5 star if not for the road noise.

I was in the market for a new car with good gas mileage. I waffled between the new Trax and the Malibu RS, and after driving both, chose Mabel. I've had her for a week, and it's been a blast to drive. At 6' 1", it's a bit of a challenge to get in and out, but not so much as to be annoying. Very roomy inside, and the outward visibility is much better than some reviews indicate. Very smooth ride, quiet cabin, and a pretty good stereo. In a strange twist, mine didn't come with Sirius/XM built in, but it plays thru my phone app along with Spotify. The kicker? It actually gets great gas mileage! I'm averaging 30+ in town, and 36.2 on the interstate at 75 mph. The trunk opening is a bit small, but the trunk itself is quite large. After coming off a 2003 Yukon, I'm enjoying the heck out of this car. UPDATE: I've had Mabel for 3.5 months and 13,500 miles, and still love her. There have been a couple small issues covered under warranty (radio glitches, weather strip, A/C vent), none of them related to mechanical problems. Still getting excellent gas mileage, and it's great on the road. It's a shame Chevrolet is discontinuing the Malibu. UPDATE: 9.5 months and 41,000 miles. The radio still glitches and the dealer can't fix it. The clearcoat started to peel off on the trunk, but it was re-cleared under warranty. Mechanically it's still doing great, and on a couple 150-mile trips got 42.7 mpg. It's still comfortable on long distance runs. Great car.
