2024 Chevrolet Malibu Sedan Consumer Reviews

You Get What You Pay For
I purchased this car $4,000 below MSRP. I thought I was getting a good deal. This car has LOTS of road noise when driving at interstate speeds. I owned a 2009 Malibu LT and it was quieter. The 1.5T engine is very underpowered and I need to floor the gas pedal to pass at interstate speeds. The interior is covered in low grade hard plastics and hasn't been updated since 2016 when this generation of Malibu debuted. This does not feel like a 2024 car. For people wanting a "American" sedan, you're better off buying a Camry or Accord. The Malibu uses foreign parts from Mexico and China. Read the parts content information on the window sticker.

What a turd... The worst sedan in this segment.
I have owned and driven a ton of cars and drive about 1000 miles a week to commute. If you are a driver, you will notice that it's a very sad feeling to drive this thing. It has no power, and the CVT makes it scary unreliable and weird to drive. It handles like an old boat and has annoying cabin noise at 45mph. On the highway, it won't get out of its own way. Accelerator all the way to the floor on the merge ramp and nothing happens. Driving it on the highway drives a person nuts because of the deafening road noise. The seats are very uncomfortable, like a 90s Honda Civic. It's a terrible car all around, and really shows you have given up on life... A minivan is better, because it has at least some utility.

hasn’t been updated since the 2016 model year
The 1.5T engine has not been updated since the 2016 model year and has the lowest horsepower and worst fuel economy in the midsize sedan class. Additionally, there is no all-wheel drive or a hybrid powertrain option. The interior has not been updated since the 2016 model year and uses low quality materials everywhere. The instrument gauge cluster and A/C controls are severely outdated for a $30k car in 2024. The rear passenger A/C vents do not have USB charging ports, and the wireless phone charger is incompatible with newer phone models. The road and tire noise is excessively loud. The technology is several years behind the competition. LED headlights are only available on the highest trim level. The highest 2LT trim level does not come standard with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, or rear cross-traffic alert. Competitors offer these features standard on all trim levels. For the MSRP of $30k, you’re better off buying a Japanese or Korean competitor. The Malibu is a decade old car made for rental agencies.

Best Car Value I ever experienced.
I sold my Tesla Model S. Sick of EVs. Traded it in for a new Chevy Malibu Premium. OMGosh! The Chevy Malibu was a much better car than the Tesla !!!!. Yes, Tesla was cool, powerful, and fast....but did terrible in bad weather, the daughter-board computer crashed, and it wasn't a practical car. Little things - no light for the vanity mirror, no hangers for clothes, the door handles broke often, the fit/finish was not great. Tesla was the "superior car" - but for value, Chevy Malibu was a far superior buy. The Malibu is a very nice looking car, awesome gas mileage (I average 32 mph with city/hwy driving), pleasure to drive, easy to maneuver, smooth on the road, and a comfortable and large interior with a huge trunk. GM hit a home run on the Malibu. My family now owns 3 and every single one is a dream.

Loved the Malibu
While my car was at the repair shop, I signed up for a rental and was given a Malibu. I loved that car. It was so easy to drive and the inside was very easy to figure out. When my car becomes to expensive to fix, I plan to get a Malibu.
