Used 2015 Chevrolet Impala Consumer Reviews
best car i ever owned.
approaching 85,000 miles and never had any issues. It's the LTZ model with the V6. On my last trip to Florida i put on 4,000 miles and averaged 27.3 MPG. It's a 5 passenger car with comfortable rear seating and a large trunk. MY Best gas mileage on a one way trip of 140 miles was 30.2 MPG. my mixed highway/city is average 20 MPG.

vast improvement over the pre-2014 impala
I had high hopes when I test-drove this car. A recent issue of Consumer Reports said this car was among the best-riding cars they've tested and among the quietest. I found the latter is true but IMHO the former is not so much. This Impala LT [low-profile 50 series rubber on 18" rims] has a superficially smooth ride over average-quality roads with lumpy/segmented pavement, but sharp bumps crash through with a flimsy shuddering sound [loose interior pieces] in the passenger compartment. The roar from coarse pavement is not well suppressed and resonates in the cabin. The engine is well-muffled [electronic noise cancellation] and can only be heard as leakage from outside through the closed windows. Wind noise is almost totally absent, as well. The 4-cylinder engine has an amazing amount of power and smoothness, I never wanted for the V6, and was never in need of flooring it, for at least this driver [no passengers] there was plenty of power reserve for passing and hills. The fuel economy meter indicated an average of 25 mpg but when i had to pass somebody it dropped into the low teens. The handling was poised, with no discernible sway/lean/dive/squat, the suspension's performance was unflappable on the curvy wavy stuff. I just wished GM used 16" rims [like on the Passat] and 60 or 70 series rubber to take the edge off of those sharper bump impacts. The seating was supportive and comfortable over the long haul, at least for the driver's seat with its power-adjustments and variable lumbar support. with the seat elevated [to reduce pressure on my low back] I still had about 2" of headroom in this non-sun-roofed Impala. Entry and egress for this tall person, were vastly superior to the late model Passat I tried. With the driver's seat elevated as far as it would go, I didn't have to squat much to enter the car. With the driver's seat in its elevated and rearmost position, I could sit in the back seat with at least 3" of space between the driver's seat back and my knees. However, my head bumped into the ceiling unless I ducked or slouched. The driver's outward visibility was strictly average, the rear-view camera display is an essential tool to avoid a collision with another parked car, as the mirrors have a limited field of view. I liked the hidden storage compartment behind the video display, very clever. the cloth upholstery was monochromatic but comfortable to sit on in cold weather or warm. In summary, I admired the neutral drivability and serenity of this vastly improved Impala, I consider it the best performing value among its peers [Chrysler 300, VW Passat, Toyota Avalon] and could recommend it with comparatively minor reservations. -Interior= *** [two demerits for mediocre build quality, squeaks and rattles all over, on rough roads with broken pavement] -Exterior styling= ** [not my fave, blocky, like a streamlined brick, not graceful like an Impala should be] -Performance= **** [decent acceleration for a 4 cylinder engine, braking is good enough, handling unflappably stable over various road surfaces, a bit of NVH on sharp bumps, noise over coarse road surfaces mostly unsuppressed, average condition road surface noise well suppressed] -Comfort/Quality= *** [aforementioned slapdash build quality on interior, squeaks and rattles over coarse/broken roads, sharp bumps crashed through. comfortable driver's seat with adequate range of adjustment, well-sited lumbar adjustment with variable pressure. Exterior styling slope at back seat head area cuts into rear seat headroom for taller passengers

REPAIR MAINTENANCE IS RIDICULOUS
I bought my 2015 LTZ brand new from the dealership and since that time there has been sooooo many problems with this car. Fuel pump, moon roof electric shade, front and rear coil spring insulators, shock absorber replacements, front and rear hub bearing all 4 tires within 5000 miles of each other and then the timing cover gasket which costs $2,100. This car was my favorite car until all these things start wearing out at a rapid pace. I have spend approximately $20K in repairs. I will never buy a Chevy again!

Modern Spacious Car for 6'3" or taller driver
This is a new car replacing a 1999 Merc Marquis which has 250K miles and the engine seal were giving out. I have been looking at the 2015(+) Chevy Impala LTZ and did not know if I could fit into it because I cannot fit into a Ford Taurus. My torso length is to much for the Taurus but the Impala was a great fit.. Additionally, the front seat go back and there is plenty of leg room for my size 13 shoe.. So I am very happy getting to know my New Used (20k) miles previous Enterprise rental vehicle. It is very pretty has dark gray exterior and interior.. The LTZ is a must for this vehicle because of the 3.6 L 6 cylinder engine. the 2.4 L 4 cylinder engine, the later being to TOO little a power plant for the car. MY 3.6L is getting 24 MPG around town an a consistent 33 mpg @ 70 mph on the highway. The car since it came from Enterprise Florida came with factory tinted Windows and this is going to be big plus in the summer.. Going forward, I may put a 5 PSI electric blower on the air intake to give the car more air during heavy acceleration. This not need just something want to do as a science/performance experiment. It should be interesting.. Hank Freeman [contact info removed]
