It is decent except for Auto Stop

I really wanted to like this car but I don't...This car is fairly decent BESIDES the auto stop mandatory "feature".. Every other manufacturer gives the driver the ability to disable this feature, however, in the Cruze you are forced to deal with the engine shutting off at red lights, city driving, every stop sign, etc. This feature claims to save a whopping 1mpg, its so not worth it. There have been instances where it is hot out and my car shuts off for a few seconds and then you have to wait for the ac to kick back on, if it's cold and your windows are fogging up and you are desperately trying to see, DON'T WORRY IT WILL SHUT OFF AND MAKE YOUR WINDOWS FOG BACK UP. This car overall isn't terrible, it's painfully plain, but not terrible. The turbo does a decent job at accelerating however driving a car in basically the same price range, the Jetta, offers the same size engine, but the performance in the Jetta is waaaaaay better. Also the Cruze was recalled for a roof leaking issue, mine leaked in the car wash and the dealership tried to shampoo the cardboard-like headliner and it basically looks like damp paper now. The speakers in the LS + LT without bose are terrible, they are not loud, they pop almost instantly after and the dealer will "test them" by basically turning up your radio all of the way , which in turns blows all of your speakers and tells you there is nothing wrong with them. Chevy dropped the ball with this second generation model.. The fuel economy is nothing to brag about either

I bought a new Cruze 2016. The engine is making a squealing noise from the begining. In 1 month of ownership I have been 4 times to the dealership to fix it and it is still not fixed. Beside that I had my headlights and tail lights replaced for fogging, wheels aligned and water getting in the trunk fixed twice. Spent 11 days in the shop already and I am due back again. After 8 months and 5500 miles the fuel economy is excellent 37mp/g. The water intrusion took 6 visits to the dealership to repair. They had no idea what hey were doing so they replaced the top brake light and the rear spoiler. I noticed the water intrusion stopped after they told me that they resealed the rear license plate bolts. In all I was 10 times at the dealership for various issues and had difficulties finding out what was performed on the car as the service write up short and vague. Over all the car is very silent and the engine performs well. The paint quality is poor as it scratches very easily. The head lights are bad as they fog up in the winter and GM states that is normal. The alternator is still whining at idle and that is also normal according to them. In conclusion it is a good car with ongoing issues.
