Used 1993 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Series Consumer Reviews
Workhorse
Wear items: Alternator, belts, battery, tires are all that has ever been changed on this truck. Extremely dependable if you properly maintain it. ei: tuneups, oil changes, tires/rotation. currently has 130k on the odometer and has been a major maintenance free vehicle. I earn my living with this truck and depend on it heavily for towing, off road, hauling. Reasonable gas mileage for a 4 wheel drive at 18 hwy and 15 city. This truck is like a comfortable pair of blue jeans. One of the most comfortable trucks I have ever owned.
1993 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Series
The 4.3L V6 is more than adequate for what the a fullsize truck needs to be able to do. What uneducated consumers need to realize is that the 4.3L is identical to a 350ci V8 but with 2 less cylinders. In other words, the bore, stroke, and compression are the same. The the V6 has about 20 less horse power than the V8 but it gets twice the gas mileage. The 4.3L V6 is litterally the most efficient motor of its time in all aspects. Combined with a the manual transmission I'm sure you will be satisfied with its performance.
Excellent Truck!
I have owned this truck since new. It has been the best car I have ever owned. I have owned trucks from Japan and they were never as tough or reliable. The servicing has been very easy and parts are inexpensive. I will never but anything else. Forget the imports!
Best truck I ever owned
Only truck I ever own that I didn't have in the shop every month for something. This truck rides better than the 2002 Cadillac DHS I own! The gas mileage leaves some to be desired but still best truck.
Great Truck
I'm 17 years old, and I just inherited my Dad's truck. It has 133,000 miles on it, and I gotta be honest, it's awesome. The truck is so sturdy, and I've gotten 1,600 pound loads on it before no problem. The engine is powerful and gets up hills easily with a full bed. Get this truck if you can! Its super reliable, and we've had only minor problems with it. I use it for scrapping metal at junkyards, hauling household appliances, and logs for firewood. Again, it has never let me down.
