I love my Camaro

Doug, 05/20/2016
2013 Chevrolet Camaro LS 2dr Coupe w/1LS (3.6L 6cyl 6M)

I have enjoyed the past 3 years in my Camaro, even though it is a base model. This is my 3rd Camaro that I've owned, and the V6 outperforms the older V8s models that I've had. There are little things that I really appreciate, such as the windows opening a crack when you open the doors, so you never get the it didn't close all the way situation. Or, the radio staying on after you remove the keys and shuts off after you open a door. The seats are comfortable, the dashboard well laid out and easy to manipulate. You can only stream phone over bluetooth, so I have to connect via auxiliary connection to play music from my phone. It does have XM/Sirius, CD player (plays MP3s on CD too), and is smart enough to remember different music settings between radio/cd and the auxiliary input. When I had On-Star, they were able to send directions to the dashboard, which was almost like having a nav system. The trunk has room, but the opening doesn't allow you to put larger items into it, which is too bad. It is the best Camaro that I've driven in the winters, but still not very good in the snow. Visibility takes some getting used to as you sit lower and things feel like they are at neck level, though you can adjust the seat height. I've also been able to fit my child in the back seat from 7-10 years old, though he's soon outgrowing it. If I were looking for a used muscle car, I wouldn't hesitate in getting this. If you want something quick, but don't necessarily drive fast on a regular basis, I'd say the V6 would be fine for those times when you want to have a little fun. Pros: Quick acceleration Fun to drive Comfortable Well laid out controls/dash Added intelligent designs Cons: Trunk opening Base stereo doesn't stream audio over bluetooth, just phone Mileage (I average 24 mpg mixed)

Camaro LT w/ RS Package

I recently bought a 2013 Camaro LT with the RS Package (automatic)..best decision I could make! I love my new Camaro, it's a blast to drive, a total head turner. Only complaint is very poor visibility when backing out of a parking spot. So I just back in so I'm pulling out nose first and problem solved. It gets great gas mileage. I constantly get compliments when filling up at the gas station. I bought it with 20K miles on it, it was a lease car turned in and was in perfect condition.

I have owned three Camaros, a 1991 coupe, 1995 convertible and my current 2013 convertible. This is undoubtedly the best one yet. Great performance from the V6, good mileage and this sucker handles like an Indy car on the curves. Plus it has a very good ride. The engine pulls as good or better than the other two V8 models and I am getting used to the V6 sound. Mine is Blue Ray Metallic with white stripes and I entered it in its first car show Saturday and it won Ist place in its class. I also get a lot of great comments about it. I was going to buy a corvette but I'm glad I didn't 'cause this car gets much more attention and can run on the "cheap" gas. I love this car!!! I have since installed a Solo Performance cat back exhaust system and it makes the V6 sound as cool as a V8!! I love this car even more now!!

One word FUN This car has everything you need to have a great time driving. I was not certain which engine to get when I ordered this car the v8 sounds great , the 6 cyl gets good gas mileage and has more power than you need. So if your on the fence about which engine to purchase you will be still having a blast with the 6 cyl.

2013 ZL1, a factory prepped hot rod!

Not something to be considered for an inexperienced driver. Excellent engineering, brakes and handling! Still this coupe is a 4000 pound automobile; if you want to enjoy it you should have a reasonably good mix of track and drag strip experience to appreciate the power, handling and the refinement that was built into this automobile. Just because it's fast doesn't mean you have to violate most all state laws it's perfectly agreeable as a good Highway Cruiser as well. One trip down I-35 into Texas yielded an amazing 24.8 miles per gallon between 70 and 80 miles an hour, outstanding achievement for a supercharged 580 horsepower 6.2 L V8. Of course your mileage may vary, in town fuel mileage just nothing to brag about. Mostly my mileage has been from 10 to 15 miles per gallon in City traffic. When asked why at age 65 I purchased this yellow and black factory muscle car my answer is simple: It is FUN ! 25K Update 12/14/19: Just keeping to the recommended maintenance has resulted in a almost trouble free ride. Have tweaked the engine and tires (295 frt. & 325 rear) to add an extra slice of performance. Short tube headers, Corsica exhaust system, Fuel injectors changed from 56lb. per hour to 88lb. per hour, colder plugs, 160 degree t/stat, overdrive Harmonic Balancer Kit, 5% Overdrive Balancer Pulley, Supercharger Pulley Hub, 2.55 8 Rib 10 Bolt Pulley, full retune via dynamometer. Still running a mostly stock air intake due to Arizona dust, nothing filters better than OEM performance filters. HP is now over 600+ to the rear wheels. Lost a little fuel mileage but got a nice gain in horsepower/torque. I added a front proximity sensor to avoid parking berms, Clear front bra to protect from rock chips, LED headlights, back up lights, tail lights, flashing circuit to 3rd brake light, LED interior lighting. All work except retuning performed by myself, I am a retired ASE certified Heavy Equipment mechanic.

This is the 5th summer I have driven the ZL-1, highway onramps are so much fun!!! Usually have to brake when I get to the highway if there is any traffic. I test drove the Camaro SS, and Mustang GTs (before they went to independent suspension) and the Camaros handled so much better, and the ZL-1 is head and shoulders faster than the others. Everyone complains about the visibility out of the Camaros, easy solution = get a convertible!! Never an issue with being able to see anything. 5 hour trip on the highway got me 18 mpg, both tanks, normal city driving averages 13mpg, but that is not why you buy this car. It is fast and fun, and looks fantastic!! Just started having a couple electrical issues; backup camera a few days ago was solid blue instead of camera view, and passenger window did not go down when lowering the convertible top. Both problems only infrequently, but hadn't had these happen until this summer. Anyone else have these problems??

I have wanted to get a Camaro since they started making them again in 2009 but when they came out the dealerships marked them up as high as $5000 above sticker. So I settled on a Mustang waiting for the price to get more reasonable. Since then the trans on the mustang went out after 4 years and I found a new 2013 2LS in Las Vegas that was below sticker price. Yes I bought it and found out it has true dual exhaust, 323 HP, 4 wheel independent suspension, and extremely FUN to drive. If your looking for a sports car for half the price of a Corvette, this is the way to go in style. If your looking for a Cadillac, Buy a Cadillac.

I turned my Camaro in when the lease was up in April 2017. It had about 45K on it by then. Overall, it was a very good car, very reliable, it's just not great as a daily driver and it's not comfortable for long trips. Visibility is limited and the seats are just not made for sitting for hours on end. Also, it was noisy. I replaced it with a CPO Lexus RX 350, which I bought. I'm very happy with that car, no issues at all yet and it's much better for making the 1100 mile trip from NY to FL. Also, the Lexus is slightly better on gas and uses regular, which is a tremendous savings.

I bought a 2001 1LS in April 11 from Terry Cullen Chevy in Morrow Georgia, and I just traded for a 2LS in April 13. Great remake of a classic Chevy muscle car. Rock solid no rattle body and chassis, stiff and taught, really good road car. LFX 323 horse power V6 gets the job done for me, brisk acceleration, strong pull from 55 mph till..........well, whatever. Comfy seats, Bluetooth, Sirius radio, CD, aux port, power locks windows trunk release, it has all the standard goodies you would want...........and this is a base model. Never had a problem in 61,520 miles with my 2011, I am sure the 2013 is going to be the same!

The Most Fun You Can Have on 4 Wheels

I just got a new 2SS model convertible and all I can say is . . . OMG! I came out of an Audi A4 Avant with the 3.0 engine, which is a great car with excellent performance and appointments. The Camaro is my very first muscle car and convertible, so I thought I'd do it up right. Pretty much everything I've read about it thus far, both pro and con, is true. Bottom-line, it is a beautiful car to look at (LOVE the retro look and feel)--top up or down, and is really a blast to drive. While I will miss the nimbleness of the Audi and its German engineering as compared to the heft of the Camaro, the V8 engine certainly makes it fun to throw that weight around!

LOVE a Camaro for its design! 2013 2LS COUPE

Love this 2013 Silver Ice Metallic 3.6L V6 Camaro!!! Purchased in Sept 2012 Brand New! This is my third Camaro in my life, I'm now age 68. Cons are small back seat is for kids only, but it's a sports car. Rear side visibility is sketchy at times so you must be really careful. As I have aged these past four years I've had it, finding it harder to get in and out. Pros are I love everything else!!! PLENTY of pick up, rear wheel drive (the only thing my husband will let me drive is rear wheel drive) and I think there is plenty of trunk space. Everybody says WOW you have a nice Camaro!!! I made my Chevy dealer an out the door offer of $27,000 and they made it work!!! Was a great deal!!! Unfortunately, I need to sell it now ( I want a four door and something easier to get in and out of) but (Chevy has made it nearly impossible to get a rear wheel vehicle at a reasonable price) so I am looking at a new 2017 or 2018 Charger rear wheel drive and less expensive but still hot roddish and stylish. Never had one single problem with this car. Has 30,600 miles on it, low for four years old so I should be able to get $14,000 to $15,000 for it if I sell it myself. It's in excellent condition. Took it to CARMAX and they would give me $11,500 right now and said they were anxious to get it as it was in perfect condition. Uh, don't think so. But anyway, don't be afraid to buy one of these. I've had a ball with mine!!!!

. I fell in love with this platform with the 2004 GTO ,and general motors has refined it into a monster (muscle car or super car ? ) Hands down the most refined in its class at nearly 600 bhp the vehicle accelerates and corners with some of the worlds top performance cars while still retaining a retro muscle car styling from the 60's.. 0-60 is 3.9 seconds electronically limited to 184 mph with rpm left to spare , and...99- G on a 300 ft skid pad 3.5 years later. I still own the car and i love it as much as i did when i first got it . I still own the car now 5 years later and still in love with it .The only complaint i have is some of the plastic trim in the car hasnt held up as well as i hoped it would

I purchased my 2013 Camaro LT2 nearly 4 months ago. Opted for the 6, with a manual transmission and the RS package. A blast to drive, and quite the head turner for many passing motorists and pedestrians alike. Car is solid, plenty of pull, and I love the sound/feel of the exhaust in the higher RPM's. HUD is a nice touch, and gauges are easily visible. Rear leg room is limited, and I wouldn't recommend it. Its a daily driver for me, and I look forward to it. Rear visibility is limited, but with the optional camera assist, I can see just about everything I need when backing up. Getting about 24 MPG now, with a mix of city and highway driving.

My wife has wanted a Camaro for several years now, since her best girlfriend purchased one in 2010. We lost our 2005 Chevy 3/4 with a Diesel and Allison tranny to the great 1000 year flood on August 12th of 2016. I had purchased this truck with only 22,000 miles back in 2007. I had it raised with a lift, 34" tires, Ranch bumpers, and many other extra's. She was my baby. The flood waters got the truck and my 2005 HD Road King. I took the funds from the insurance and purchased the 2013 Camaro LT/RS Coupe. I have never driven such a fine car. The inside trim with sunroof is A+ perfect. It has the heads up display that is wonderful to use as you never have to take your eyes off the road. IT also has paddle shifting if one would want it. The Halo headlights really make the car stand out at night. The 325 horse V6 is plenty strong and able to pull away from others if the need is there. The Inferno Orange paint with the two black hood stripes tells others that this car will leave them on the track or back country road. My biggest problem is keeping my wife from running so many errands so that I may have some seat time. If you are any kind of a motor head, the new Camaro's are the car to own. It's been several months since we purchased this RS Camaro and we are still very pleased with the car. It has given us daily transportation with no problems. Through the winter months we used the remote start every time we left the house and this is a great feature to have. If this car continues to deliver it's great service, we will never need to buy again!! Later David Shultz

Hello everyone, my recent last month experience with my 2113 Camaro 1LT Coupe, had making me question the reliability and durability of the brand. Just imagine, having your entire tire assemble system with break pats and everything that comes with it, broke apart while you are driving above 70 miles an hours, YOLO, If you do! This car is full of flaws. Many of them I noticed immediately on my drive home from the dealership. First thing the next day I took the vehicle back for service and was told the car needed to be broke in. Really ? A clunky front end and steering wheel wobble needs to be broke in ? This car was broke before I even bought it. Is it normal for a car to stall / shut off after a hard left turn ? The people servicing these vehicles are just as incompetent as those designing & building them. I own 7 cars, and this one is by far the poorest quality with the worst service. This vehicle is a typical GM S-Box, the only good things are the engine & transmission, rest is junk. Buyer Beware !

It’s a little hard to see traffic lights above you from the front windshield if you’re too close to a traffic light. It’s ground visibility is difficult around sidewalk curves because of the long engine hood and it’s low to the ground because it’s a sports car so you have to get used to it. I have a black Camaro and the paint finish is too sensitive to scratches and bird droppings. I hand wash it I don’t think it would do well in a car wash. That’s why I gave it 4 stars because of the paint. I would give it 5 stars for reliability. I have not had any mechanical failures or electrical problems . The original car battery still works since 2013 . Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. All I’ve replaced is tires, brakes, rotors, oil changes.

This car is blast I wanted to find a fun daily driver that didn't break the bank and that's pretty good on gas. This car does all that and more the HUD display is so helpful when you're going fast. The V6 is perfect for the city you can make all the tight corners and not crash into a tree. I love the leather heated seats, back seats exist but only for kids or absolute emergency. But you don't buy this kind of car for the back seat. Speakers are great I love the LCD display in the center console absolute blast. And don't be confused this V6 can easily go past 120 so you'll do the fix of speed for most people.

Nephew's Camaro, Not Mine

Nephew went to Qatar for a year (Army) and left the car with me. Fun to drive, handles great, rides OK for what it is, mileage is good, good looking car...BUT...preparing the car for his return, after washing and waxing, I see the car has marks under the clear coat which will not come off. I tried different waxes, buffing with 3M Finesse...clear coat is ruined as far as I'm concerned. I've seen this same defect on my 1996 Intrepid and my 2003 Dodge Ram. It must the good old boys at Detroit using the cheap junk because my 2002 Honda (296000 miles) sits in the same driveway, and does NOT have these issues. I'm glad we taxpayers just gave GM $10 billion to produce junk!!!

You will hate AFM on V8 with auto transmission

After 2 years and 13,000 miles i have learned to hate this car which only has one flaw. "Active Fuel Management" (otherwise known as AFM or DOD) There are thousands of posts on the internet about this because your lovely V8 drops into 4 cylinder mode and runs like a nissan Sentra with a bad tune. AFM is not on the car with a manual transmission. So I am trading my beautiful Camaro for a Ford Mustang that has a real V8 without this horrible feature. If you put exhaust on this car with automatic transmission it sounds like a fart mobile every time it goes into 4 cylinder mode. I burn way more gas trying to accelerate the car back into V8 mode.

I use to own a 2011 Camaro SS before I bought my 2013 Camaro ZL1 earlier this year and man there is a huge difference in performance, power wise and handling. Every time I get in and drive this car I feel like I'm like the king of the road because I can accelerate an pass the majority of cars or brake quickly to avoid accidents. The reviews say it is has a small trunk opening and small back seats and hard to see out of. I think it's like everything you just have to get use to it, I took care of that when i drove my 2011 camaro SS. I give this car in a rating of 1 to 5. Let me see I would give it a 7+

Problem 1: When I first picked up the car it exhibited a loud creaking noise from bad front end bushings. Problem 2: Driver side weather-stripping kept falling down out of its channel. Problem 3: After 5 months of ownership was a slight shuddering I thought was something with the motor. It would start at about 1400 rpms during acceleration. Mechanic test drove the car saying it feels like its misfiring. BS, it had a bad tranny and four attempts later I got it back. Problem 4: Metallic sound from driver side rear. Lug nuts loose. Tightened myself. Sound gone.

This car is hella fun... I did have to upgrade the exhaust system so it can sound more like a V8. I also installed a cold air intake which woke up the beast even more. This car has a lot of power and taking off the traction control can get you in trouble if you don't warm up the tires first. I've had the car since 2013 and I have put around 44,000 miles on it. I haven't had any serious issues with this car. The only issue I have had is with the rear deck lid speakers vibrating. I took it to the shop and they said the speakers were blown, but I can't fathom why that would be since they are the "upgraded" Boston Acoustic speakers. I would replace them with better aftermarket ones, but after watching some YouTube videos and seeing how difficult it was to get the speakers out, I just took it to the dealership to have them replaced with the same ones (under warranty). Hopefully these will last a bit longer. So that is the only repair I've had to do. Other than that, the only other con is that the car is pretty expensive (to buy and to maintain). Gas is expensive (17MPG), oil changes are expensive (8 quarts Mobil 1 do it yourself = $70), and the payments ($600/month) leave you wondering where your check went. It leaves little room on my income to do any more upgrades or keep up with other minor things that go bad (windshield wipers, tires, etc.) By the way the tires are $300 a piece and i have gone through 3 rear sets of tires and I am currently on my 2nd pair of front tires. So all-in-all, you pay to play. If you have the extra money, it is a great value for an awesome piece of technology. I plan on keeping mine for as long as it will last.

This SS Camaro is an absolute blast to drive, in fact it's like blasting off in a rocket ship when you take off with the acceleration snapping your head back into the seats!! But is handles all that power so well, it will spin the rear wheels with ease, but will also recover with ease as well. The steering is so very responsive as well, it is tight as heck in a good way! It totally hugs the road in turns at almost any speeds you can throw at it! I am so impressed with the power and overall driveability of this Camaro SS that I would recommend it to everyone who thinks they can handle this monster of a ride !

I love my 2SS. I am thinking of getting rid of it to get a Corvette, but it is a great road car.

Needed more room to get in and out of car. I am not a large person, but because of my physical limitations I need as much head room and leg room to get in and out of the car. This car works for me.It is very comforable.

This is my old car. I loved it and hated to let it go. This car has so many extras on it. I treated her like a baby.

Best purchase I ever made. My first car was a1975 Camaro and this one is a 2013 Camaro 2Lt rs. I bought it used with very low miles. There's pros and cons. Not the most comfy ride, no leg room in the rear compartment. Small trunk. I have a convertible and the accessories for it take up the space. Goodbye golf clubs. Just a small sacrifice since I don't golf. Has a lot of power.....zoom zoom!! I've had a couple Camaro owners try to get me to engage in a little race, I was a chicken. I have the 2013 V6 supercharged 2lt convertible. I love my car too much to risk killing myself. Need I say more about this beast.
