2023 Cadillac CT5 Review

The CT5 is the largest sedan offered by Cadillac and aims to offer a mixture of sport and luxury at a slightly lower price than some of its competitors. In base trim, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 237 horsepower and costs just under $39,000. It competes with luxury stalwarts like the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Audi A6, all of which start north of $50,000.

With that said, we're not blown away by the CT5's interior, and you need to move up a trim, to Premium Luxury, to get access to some of the CT5's more appealing features. That includes Super Cruise, General Motors' driving system that allows for hands-free driving on some highways. You can option the CT5 all the way up to the mid-$50,000s — in other words, about the price of its luxury competitors.

Not much new is expected for the 2023 model year after the introduction of Super Cruise to the CT5 last year. We expect a few paint options to be added and swapped out, but otherwise this is much the same CT5 as last year.

The CT5's solid powertrain can be a good value proposition for the right buyer, but it struggles to keep up with its competitors in a fierce category.
