I bought this car with some trepidation because Audi has a reputation for having mechanical issues but after reading some reviews I found out this particular model A6 with 4.2l v8 is an exception to that stigma. I traded from a 2015 Cadillac CTS 3.6l it was a nice fast car but this thing is grown up fast this is no little bounce sport car this is a big smooth luxury European Saloon. It’s V8 delivers plenty of torque with a healthy 350hp which translates to better performance at lower rpm . I live in a rural area and regularly drive it at 100 plus mph where it is comfortably and sure footed. It has great steering dampening with little to no torque steer the awd works great and it has an amazing transmission with a bump to shift On the gear shift or paddle shift options . I have had zero maintenance issues aside from an after market gas cap causing an error code factory cap was $56. Overall I would highly recommend this car UPDATE: I had a CtsV it was worth triple what my A6 cost me used I got it with 80k miles cheap at a lot across from University Audi (Seattle area) it was a one owner well maintained . On paper the cts and the Audi are very close in performance numbers but in the real world in practice the Audi outperforms in every conceivable category . If the Caddy is a pissed off teenager the Audi is a furious dad. It’s Awd system out performs every other system including Subaru (I owned 4 when I was younger) the acceleration with the 4.2 and 5.2 power plant is staggering in all conditions . The weight of the car gives it amazing stability at all speeds coupled with pneumatic suspension system with several beneficial modes. This thing is a well refined animal that crushes everything while simultaneously feeling like it’s no big deal. If you ever are so lucky as to acquire one of these never let it go maintain it like and aircraft because it can damn near fly. Absolutely in love over here in the PNW

This is my fourth Audi, second A6. Best of them all! The power is great, smooth ride, unbeatable interior quality/design. I know that there are cars that are quicker, better handling, flashier, more powerful, etc, but no other car, taken as a package, does it all better than this A6. Can't beat quattro in the snow and rain. After 17K miles: NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, just changing the oil every 5K (not the factory recommended 10K).

We researched, watched and waited for just the right sedan to come to market. I compared features, performance, comfort and reliability for all sedans in the A6 category and there is no other car that would rank higher than 8.5 now or in the next years model. The steering capability with the S-Line sports suspension is what makes driving this car so much fun yet comfortable. I love the unique color (Daytona Grey) in a time when almost everything on the road is the same. The ability to power hard into your corners smoothly will never make you feel like you purchased something second rate. The MMI is fabulous and intuitive. My wife went from the A4 to this and just loves it immensely.

I looked at all cars that could possibly fit my criteria. I wanted top performance in a 4 wheel drive car. I finally settled on the A6. Although this car is fantastic in so many ways,the lack of road feel and poor wieght distribution is very unsettling. I can't understand why they would build a great car, but which lacks basic handling characteristics. My daughter's '06 Accord has much better road feel and handling characteristics than this car. I would even go so far as to say this car is quite dangerous if you try to drive it on a curvy road at high speed. The V8 is too much power for the poor handling. I am very dissapointed I wish I would have gone with the BMW
