Still Fantastic After a Year!
I am absolutely smitten with my Allroad. Compared to my prior 2014 Q7 and 2016 Grand Cherokee, I can say that the fit and finish of the 2018 Allroad is superior. It is quiet, powerful, comfortable, fun to drive and very well thought out. Cargo space is ample. My ONLY complaint so far is that the cup holders were ill planned, but that is by no means a deal breaker. Update: We just had our first ice/snow event here in the midwest and the new Quattro w/ Ultra Technology works flawlessly and allows for a very confident drive. I can detect no difference when the system engages the rear wheels at all. I was skeptical as to how it would compare to the tried and true Quattro system, but I'm not anymore. This car drives incredibly well on all surfaces. Update November 2019: I still LOVE my car. There have been zero mechanical issues, and gas mileage is incredible on long trips. Often, we saw over 35 MPG when driving over 130 miles loaded up with a family of four. I also can't say enough about how much fun this car is to drive! It has great power and handles better than a wagon has any right to. The Allroad is absolutely GREAT in the winter, too. We get more than our share of snow here and it is no problem whatsoever. I still highly recommend this car!

Amazing Allroad
This car is a joy to drive. The composure and sure footedness is impressive at any speed. Going a wee bit :) over the speed limit, you will not know how fast you are going. Thank goodness for the head up display on the Prestige trim. This is a silent and stealth car for those of us who are looking to do some spirited driving and get the children to school. The quiet cabin is amazing as well. Enjoying every drive!

This is THE car for people who like to travel
Surprising fuel economy on the highway, comfortable ride in every condition. If you consider buying one of these you need to have the sport front seats and virtual cockpit. update: 3year/45000miles of ownership car never had any problem, the ride quality is still top notch. Fuel economy stays around 35mpg on highways. It had been through a tough winter traveling with me and the all wheel drive is what i’m impressed the most.

Traded in my BMW X5 for Allroad...happy I did!!!
5 months ago I bought a BMW X5 (completely different than the Allroad I know) but between it being in the shop too often with minor issues and the horrible breaking system...I swapped it for the Allroad. Glad I did! Before I get into pros/cons...another reviewer mentioned a "clicking" feeling in the pedal every time the car is started. This isn't a defect. It's the ABS system testing itself (I was concerned myself but a quick google search answered it). It happens at about 27 mph and although noticeable, it really doesn't bother me. Test drive and see for yourself. Pros of the car: steering is very light at low speeds making driving in city pleasant. Apple Carplay and virtual cockpit are awesome. I make a lot of calls from the car and it makes it very easy. The driving modes (Offroad all the way to Dynamic) do change the feeling of the car quite a bit thanks to the adaptive dampers. So its fun to change them if I want fun vs comfort driving. My daughter is 3.5 years old and a bulky rear facing child seat is no problem. My wife 5'3" and I am 5'9" and we both have plenty of leg room in passenger seat. Cons: I drive 90% of the time in the city. The gas mileage just isn't great. I'd really have to milk it just to get 18mpg's (way different story on highway. The MPG is awesome). Although it sits higher than a standard A4, the step in height is a bit lower. But it's a sporty car so doesn't bother me too much. Whoever thought that plastic trunk liner was a good idea should be fired. My bags just slide back and forth at every stop light and drives me absolutely bonkers. Going to buy myself a rubber Weathertech liner for Christmas (not what I want to do after spending $40k on a car). Overall: I'm very happy with the car. The technology, the comfort, ease of getting my daughter in and out and the styling have won me over. Also, its actually a very rare car. There are Q5's absolutely everywhere but I might see another Allroad once every couple of weeks. As a result, people ask me about the car often. Which is kind of fun! I also think resale value will be much higher. Finally, if you are looking at buying an A5 (which I was), do yourself a massive favor and get the Allroad. It is the same price and has everything the A5 has but none of the drawbacks (most notably the lack of headroom and smaller trunk space).
Dream car - very satisfied so far
This car is by far the perfect fusion of performance, practicality and technology. Drive select gives you two different flavor of driving, dynamic being stiffer, comfort being softer, and it was more than capable when traveling through mountains or highways. More space than you possibly imagine, huge cargo, very comfortable second row (don't look, sit on and you know what I am talking about). Length is the same with SUVs like Lexus RX 350, only with lower ride height, giving substantially better driving pleasure. Technology wise I don't know a car better than this except tesla, definitely better than current BMW (2017). Combination of advanced lane assist, adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist almost make this car driveless, removing most of driving pressure, but still in practical level (you have the control instead of the car itself). Luxury interior, fantastic lighting and high quality inlay and leather. Only one complaint is that it is not as sporty and stiff as some of the sport coupe, but I guess I can't put all hope onto the same car:)

It’s not an SUV!
A4 allroad is a great combination of comfort, performance, and carrying capacity in an attractive, unique wagon. Great alternative to all the SUV’s out here.

Wagons are back!
This is a fabulous car. Enough room to haul my dogs in crates. My 2006 Audi S6 just sits in the garage now. The turbo has no lag and the car is almost as quick and agile as my S6.

Quirky Ergodynamics
Handsome car, Excellent Mileage, Great highway cruiser. Good, not great, in snow with 4 new snow tires. Ultimately poor ergo dynamics led us to sell the car at 8 months of ownership and 9500 miles. Getting in and out of the car was difficult without hitting your head or shoulders. Getting out of the car the back of legs would always hit the door sill trim which sticks out too much. The gear shifter is different then standard automatics - easy enough to figure out but difficult if going from a different vehicle to this one. Cupholders are in the worst possible location - under buttons. Every time a cup is removed or placed in the holder a finger gets scraped. The MMI (technology) buttons and knob are between the shifter and the cupholders. One spill on the MMI controls and they are likely to get ruined and replacement costs are not covered by warranty (even the dealer warned us). The radio volume control knob seems to be in a great place on the console but way too easy to hit with a bag - change the volume, turn off the volume. The radio display - when a station is changed the display changes to the new station and then mysteriously shows the previous station (does not change the music) for about 10-15 seconds - why would it do that??? Strange click-click from under the car on the first acceleration with each time the car is turned on. Dealer said it was the anti lock brakes (never heard that in previous cars with antilock brakes). I wonder if it was the new quattro system.

Solid, Comfortable Car
The allroad is an excellent car for someone living in central Indiana. It handles well on slick or unplowed roads in the winter. It is an outstanding highway cruiser that always feels connected to the road. Great for crossing muddy parking lot at my son's soccer practice field. It is comfortable on uneven and cracked pavement. The wagon works well for hauling bags of fertilizer or soil for the lawn and garden - easy on the back for loading and unloading. No mechanical or electrical problems in the 7 years that I have had it. A couple of complaints: (1) U.S. models do not come with hitch, (2) needs acoustic glass on side windows to dampen wind noise. Versatile and comfortable vehicle. I would buy it again.

Took my new Allroad to Whieface
Audi is stingy with important features in base models. What is provided is hard to understand. When fancy names for basic safety add ons are removed, it is not very different from our last A4 wagon of 2010—that was still going strong at 125k miles. This one accelerates smoothly to 90+ on the NY Northway as fast as I admit to, then handles twisting Adirondack roads with aplomb. Fit and finish are excellent as expected from Audi. Just make sure you are packing short skis inside and carrying long skis on the roof! After 1 year of COVID lockdown the vehicle is essentially still new. No flaws have appeared after 6000 mi. I still haven’t learned how to use the expensive technology I paid for in the upgrade. Suggest that prospective purchasers compare base model+Apple CarPlay with Premium plus features. You may save 2-3 G’s. Update. After 2 years but only 15k miles the car still looks and performs like new. Still haven’t really tested its abilities and still haven’t figured out how to use more than. 10 percent of technology built into MMI (infotainment) system. I notice the value has increased on the web and dealer has offered attractive trade deal. But I’m keeping it for now.

Great drive but horrendous tech
It’s such a shame that this car drives so well and us extremely quiet, but the entire experience is ruined with a ridiculously buggy infotainment. It takes 2-5 minutes for the system to initialize, the navigation entry is worse than first generation GPS circa 1990. Results are not in order of distance, never returns consistent results, delayed button push, and completely forget voice commands. Audi should be ashamed to put this out on the market. I’m only 3 months in and looking to trade it in.

BEST ALLAROUND
Pricey but well worth while. Car is an amazing combination of luxury, comfort and utility. It make you smile as you go down the road; however, it will NOT accept a trailer hitch even though articles say it does.

Steering rack failed
At just 51,000k the steering rack started making a ratcheting noise. Dealership replaced it out of warranty. Very very expensive repair. Customer to pay full cost is unwarranted given premature failure.

The thrill in Back!
The A4 2.0Turbo, is a stealthy wagon often overlooked in the current market of SUV's and crossovers. Fuel economy is great for a mid-size car, above average storage and sporty good looks. Positive stares and comments on a great looking automobile. Enjoy cruising for short road trips and and traveling to vineyards. The overall advantages of a Tesla fighter are evident except for no hybrid option. Audi is leading seller of stylish vehicles with great technology and safety features. We enjoy the front seat comfort, adjustable lumbar and leg bolster support. Very impressive speed from turbo, and with insulated windows low road noise. The 18" wheels are low profile but give you a more tactical than cushy ride over bumps and potholes.

Third time is a charm
This 2022 allroad is my third allroad. I started with a 2001 A6 allroad with the V6 bi-turbo That car was the Audi from hell! It spent as much time in the shop as on the road. The air suspension gave me the most problems. Fuel milage was awful with a 16 MPG average. However when it was good it was very good. It took until 2015 before I waded back into the Audi pond and I am glad that I did. The 2 liter turbo 4 gave much better fuel milage of 27.0 MPG average for 81,000 miles. Performance was almost as good as the 2001 V6. I was perfectly happy with the car until My sales rep cornered me and showed me a new A6 allroad. We did the math and it was just more money than I wanted to commit to. So I had her run the numbers for the 2022 A4 allroad. Audi was offering a 1.99% finance package and the 2015 did have over 92,000 miles on it. If you are still with me let me tell you about the 2022. I love the infotainment center. Easy to read, and after a pretty steep learning curve, more information than you need. Great fuel milage from the start. 37 MPG on the interstate running 75 MPH. Very quick acceleration, Four damping rates for the suspension and good visibility all around. Why four stars? Due to the microchip shortage I don't have blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruse control, or foot operated opening and closing of the luggage compartment lift gate. I hope these features will become available as a plug and play once the microchips become available. Bottom line, ample cargo room, great performance, comfortable ride, and good fuel milage. Other than the mentioned microchip issues, what's not to love?

Cannot wait for my "Pocket Rocket" to be delivered
The 2018 All Road is gorgeous. I spent at least 15minutes rubbing my hand all over the exterior of the car. The lines, the design touches, it exuded quality beyond anything I have ever seen before. The interior, drop dead gorgeous. Perfect ergonomics. The leather, the dash board, simplicity raised beyond what most vehicles offer. Driving dynamics, silky smooth with 250 horses and a turbocharger at your command. An article in Consumer Reports in the spring of 2017 all but sealed the deal saying if you are going to buy a loaded Outback look at the All Road as in their opinion it was head and shoulder above the Sub. I am trading my 2011 Outback for the Audi. I had to order the Audi as I wanted a custom color and ventilated seats. I am like a little kid right know waiting for the Xmas presents to be found under the holiday tree.

This is my second AllRoad! I love its practicality yet sports car capabilities. Its the perfect blend of what I need and want in a car.
Windy and under powered
This vehicle needs the 350 hp engine from the s4 line, and window gaskets or redesigned roof rails so it is not wind noisy inside above 65 mph. Audi, really VW, could create the perfect car by making a model with the pdk transmission, the 350 6 cylinder engine, and no wind noise at freeway speed. Since Audi refuses to sell the rs4 avant in US, give us a more powerful allroad with pdk transmission and quiet. Buy Michelin super sports for the summer and second set of one inch smaller winter wheels with Bridgestone Blizzack lm 1000 winter tires, and you have perfect IC car.

Like an old friend of mine
As an Audi owner, when I heard Audi is going to change their production line, it made me sad. I had an A4 (B8) before and drove it almost everywhere. I loved its engine power and Quattro system. I have to say it was a reliable car and never had any major issues. So, I decided to buy this last version of the A4 Allroad, since there will be no more A4s next year. When I test drove it, it felt just like my old A4. Even though the interior has been updated, the driving experience is still as enjoyable as the previous version. The reason I love Audi is because of the continuity. It’s not just reflected in the driving experience, but also in the design. Unlike BMW or Mercedes-Benz, there’s a sense of consistency among different models. So far, I’ve driven my car almost 1,000 miles, and it’s been great in every way. If you like wagons, I think it’s the best choice you can get in the U.S. market.

Test drive first
I did a test drive at it did not impress me at all. Interior materials are not the best especially on the doors there were lots of hard touch plastic. Even closing the door did not sound very solid. I know it is not comparable but I have seen more solid Interiors from latest Honda products. I believe when it comes to solidNess and interior material quality BMW looks and feels much better

Great car
Great car to drive in any weather condition! The only shortcoming: does not have enough storage space for the driver to store little objects within driver's (and front row passenger) easy reach. For example: it does not have the drawer underneath the fronts seats like the Audi A4 Avant Quattro 3.0L had.

Fun Vehicle!
Coming from a large Lexus GX460, the Allroad has been a fun alternative to a tank with tires. Love the classic style, solid feel and luxury interior. The driver’s seat is like being in a cockpit. It has solid acceleration and crisp handing. Dynamic mode gives it a nice sports car feel. Plenty of room in the cargo area and opens up to one large back area by putting the rear seats down. The display and knobs to control heat and AC are super user friendly. Clear and fairly powerful sound system, speakers are strategically placed. What a great vehicle that won’t break the bank. Highly recommend.
