I just purchased a used 2017 RDX Advanced package. I traded in my 2018 Honda CRV because while I love Hondas, it wasn't a comfortable ride on longer trips. I drive to see family several times a year, and it's 650 miles each way. At 100 miles in, my legs and bottom would be sore, which meant I had another 550 miles of being uncomfortable. I wrote a review here on the CRV and knew the comfort level would be why I wouldn’t keep it for a long time. Three years later, I began to look for a replacement. For budget purposes, I looked at used cars - the Lexus NX hybrid, the BMW X3, and the Acura RDX. I wanted something that would be comfortable for long trips, with good reliability, blind spot monitoring, a bit quieter on the highway (Hondas aren’t noisy engine-wise, but they let in a lot of road noise), and not too expensive to keep up. I didn't like the way the Lexus drove. It felt very jerky when I stopped and started. I used to drive a Prius, so I'm familiar with hybrid technology and driving, and this didn't feel like the Prius. The Lexus had poor rear visibility. The seats and fuel efficiency were the best parts of the car, but not enough to make me want to buy it. I loved the BMW - it had a really peppy ride and I love the looks of it. But the seat didn't feel like it would be really comfortable for a long trip. It was also hard to find a used one in the years I was looking at (2016-2017) with blind spot monitoring. And I didn’t want to risk the cost of maintenance. The Acura ticked off all the boxes for me. The seats felt comfortable but still supportive, it was very easy to find a used one with the technology or advanced package to get blind spot monitoring, it was a similar price to the BMW with more options, excellent predicted reliability, and reasonable maintenance costs. And because I’ve always loved Honda, I liked that I was staying within the family. I took the Acura on a trip to visit family soon after purchasing, and it was a dream to drive. I was so comfortable, even after 12 hours I wasn’t tired. I didn’t get hand fatigue from the leather steering wheel like I had happen with the CRV (and I had never had that happen in other cars). I didn’t have to jack my podcasts up on the highway because it was much quieter. I miss not having Apple CarPlay, but that’s the only area where I feel I “downgraded” from the CRV. The only thing I don’t love about the Acura is its fuel efficiency. But, the RDX has more than exceeded my expectations and will do for several years until I can find the fuel efficient SUV of my dreams (that I can afford). My most favorite car of all time is my beloved 2001 Civic. It stayed in my family until 2017, and I was really sad to see it go. The RDX is a close second.

I have not had my SUV that long, less than a month but I must say I was a little apprehensive about the purchase but after a few days found out that I love it. Gas mileage is not as bad as I thought it would be, some options I would like to have is adjusting the lift gate (hit the garage door when in the garage) my other SUV you could adjust. Size is great, more roomy than I thought it would be and I am very happy with the safety features.

Conducted extensive research on the RDX before I went to the dealership. I scored an excellent deal and got the car that I wanted. I agree with Edmunds review that it is quick to brake when there is plenty of space that does not require the over reaction. Love the dual screen and while there is a learning curve on the navigation, my phone app has a better navigation then what Acura provides. Still. It's not a deal breaker and I look forward to when I get to drive my car- which is a first for me. Definitely a smooth, quiet ride. And very comfortable on all fronts. Just love it.

CONS: Purchased the newest top-of-the-line vehicle available. Picked it up and the Navigation didn't work. Dealer had to replace a wiring harness to fix the problem. Got the car back and now the Radio does not work properly. It sounds ok for a while and then the music sounds tinny like the bass was turned off. the satellite link for radio is terrible. Navigation is difficult to use and often send us out of the way. The voice commands is sketchy at best. Locking the doors on the car is tricky - if you press it twice too close together, the windows and roof open! The Hands Free isn't very adaptive. My 5'10" husband has a great deal of difficulty getting in and out of the car... it is very tight. If you start the car top gear out and walk around to the other side, you can't open the other doors or tailgate. You have to walk around top the driver side and unlock from there. PROS: the back seat covers are fitted perfectly.

Up graded CRV

Previously owned 2 Honda CRV- RDX Is a pleasant, up graded Honda CRV, reliable, interior noise from road and wind, annoying as is mpg. Navigation was very disappointing- not user friendly. Considered a new and touted, great RDX improvement but dealers were not discounting nearly as effectively as Lexus, and Cadillac.
