UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Im now the proud owner of a 2009 Honda Accord F*CK YOU VOLVO!!! Im really sad and disappointed because my wife and I have owned 6 or 7 Volvos in the last 15 yrs, all great cars up until the last 2, LEMONZZZ
The new XC70's may not be selling as well as expected but to blame it on fractional (e.g, less than an inch) differences in leg room doesn't make much sense. Rather we can look to a world wide recession that has hit the Volvo demographic fairly hard. (What the Volvo demographic? Probably college educated couples in their mid 30's to 50's working in white collar jobs other than financial services and ... Read More
>My take on it? Women hate station wagons, and love SUVs.. If it rides up high like a truck, you can sell almost any piece of crap... but, if it rides a little lower and looks like a wagon, you can't give it away.. big seller. The new one isn't selling b/c (1) quality issues and (2) stupid design. By stupid design, I don't mean the style, which is very nice...a ... Read More
Is it really possible that nobody has purchased a 2008 or 2009 XC70 since 09/30/08? If so, what aren't the dealers willing to deal? I have talked with several dealers in Central Illinois and Eastern Iowa and this is all I am coming up with... $10000 off a 2008 (sticker:44,960) and $9000 trade for my '04 XC70 with 51,000 miles. $25,473 OTD with tax, etc. Been on the lot for over ... In a post above I commented how happy we are with my wife' new 2009 XC70. I may have not been effusive enough. We really like the car and she is enjoying it immensely. Great ride, great seats, nice new features over the older versions, and on and on. Which leads me to a question. I'm puzzled why the XC70 doesn't sell better. What is the competition? Below it we have ... Read More
If I were you I would not even consider to get a Volvo, read my postings from before the 2008 XC70 is just a pool of problems, I get something new every other week and of course Volvo US or the dealership could care less. I imagine their sales are down so badly due to quality and reliability issues that they have to put the 5 year Complimentary Maintenance Program but ... Read More
Hello jaa37jaa37. I don't believe that Volvo is currently providing any lease support on the 2009 XC70 through Volvo Finance. If you really want to lease one, you would be better off doing so through an independent bank than through Volvo Finance. Volvo is currently providing a $1,750 cash incentive on leases of XC70 3.2s through independent banks. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum
Hi Car_man (and others) -- anyone know what the money factor and residual, etc., would be for a two-year, 12,000-a-year lease would be on XC70s? Any cash back deals? We have a 2007 lease that is ending soon, and we're trying to decide whether to extend the lease for a few months, get a new lease or try a different model. Anyone have any advice on extending a lease?
Bought a new 2008 (left over) XC70 on 4/09 in Southern Cali, list price $48,100. Loaded with options, similar new 2009 lists for $4,000.00 less. Paid 33,200. I have always leased my cars (usually BMW's for @ 15 years) but this deal seemed to good to be true. We love the car and have a total of 200 miles and one warranty service already. Maybe this is a result of being ... Read More
I sure do, dpeck1. Unfortunately, Volvo is not currently providing any lease support on the 2009 XC70. You definitely don't want to lease one through Volvo Finance right now, its lease money factors are around .00500, which is equivalent to an interest rate of around 12% . You can lease one through an independent bank and take advantage of the $5,500 dealer cash and $1,500 cash incentive for leases through anyone ... Read More
Hi dpeck1, even if Volvo is giving a cash incentive of $2000, I would not get the car, they are depreciating the resale value more and more so the used cars are going to be worthless like most of the american brands. As much as you discount a car as worthless it is. If I were you I would be looking at Acura, Infiniti, Lexus, or BMW. You can get great ... Read More
Hi dpeck1. Volvo recently enhanced its dealer cash incentive on the 2009 XC70 to $2,000. Its lease program varies by term and mileage allowance. You never mentioned what either of these variables are, so for now I will assume that you are interested in a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. Let me know if you want something different. Volvo Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual ... Read More
Hi archielevick. Volvo Finance's lease program for the XC70 varies by term and mileage allowance. You never mentioned what either of these variables are, so for now I will assume that you are interested in a 36 month lease with 15,000 miles per year. Let me know if you want something different. According to the latest information that I have seen, if you were to lease a 2009 Volvo XC70 through ... Read More
"Eventhough the 2008 has more horsepower (235) on paper, I found it underpowered and sluggish compared to the 2007 (208 hp)." My wife loves the 2008 XC70 for the ride quality, but it is an extremely inefficient vehicle. We're lucky to get 20 mpg. The engine is harsh. The transmission is unresponsive. The vehicle is heavy and so slow that it's almost dangerous to merge into fast moving highway traffic. Contrast ... Read More
Took a 2009 XC70 T6 with 4C chassis out for a test. The T6 is imo a much better feeling car. There is competent output from the turbo charged motor and the 4C enhances the driver/road feel. Not only that, but I didn't hear the constant creaking I hear in my 08 model. Does anyone know if dealerships (including Volvo) sell repaired crash tested or damaged vehicles as new? If so ... Yeah, even the sales guy was upset. He said they all agreed that it was underpowered and that Volvo wasn't making it easy for them to sell new Volvos (not too many deals). I'll probably keep mine or weight until the 2009's go on sale (with the better power). But still, I dont really like the look of the new XC70's. I also heard that SAAB is completely redesigning their cars, ... Read More
So let me begin by saying that I am no expert. Just a consumer. I just had my 2007 XC70 in for a service appointment and got a 2008 XC70 as a loaner. Eventhough the 2008 has more horsepower (235) on paper, I found it underpowered and sluggish compared to the 2007 (208 hp). I also wasn't crazy about the look inside. If I decide to turn in my car and ... Read More
Here you go, novalauren. You never mentioned whether you are interested in the 2008 or the 2009 model, so for now I will assume that you want an '08. Volvo Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a base '08 XC70 with 12,000 miles per year are .00084 and 48%, respectively. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum
Add the 4C chassis to the US market, it already is sold in Europe. The suspensin is floaty. Also, add a T6 version like the S80. These two changes alone for the 2009 model year will help dealers avoid the hundreds of unsold XC70's off the lots.
