  • New Mazda MPV Owner - 2004 LX

    Written by: lfh3 on Jun 14, 2006 11:23:16 AM

Last Thursday, 6/8/206, I joined the ranks of MPV owners. I bought a 2004 LX with the following options: LX Plus Package (incl. privacy glass, fog lamps) dual power sliding doors side airbags traction control roof rack The most compelling aspect about this minivan (to me) was the fact that it had only 4563 miles. Yes, you read that correctly. This two-year-old minivan had less than 5000 miles. I made first ... Read More

I have had many instances of my Mazda MPV 1997 model not being able to start. Have had to have it towed in several times and by the time it got to the garage it started just fine. Have replaced everything but the computer and still no luck. However, we were finally told to add upper cylinder cleaner to the gas tank and run a tank of high octane gas every ... Read More

Got the convenience package - A/C, rear heat, cruise, power everything (except sliding doors), keyless entry, remote starter, alloy wheels etc etc. Got the dealer to throw in mud flaps, block heater, and under-coating for free. It's nordic green with beige interior. The base price was $26595 plus the convenience package and remote keyless, it came to $28375 ... Read More

We just purchased (Nov 03) a new 2003 MPV ES with Towing Package replacing a 1997 Dodge Caravan Sport, also purchased new (problem free except a/c compressor needed replacing just 30 days after expiry of warranty, urrghh! The odometer now reads 1,200 kilometers and we are experiencing an intermittent HARD SHIFTING (possibly 2-3 shift) with an audible "CLUNK" noise in the ... Read More

  • Question on Transmission Cooler

    Written by: asa0526 on Jul 18, 2002 4:11:28 PM

I just bought my MPV LX 2002 - midnight blue - with rear a/c, floor mats, roof racks. Got about $2500 off from below invoice. I actually wanted COASTAL BLUE color but I had been looking for over a month ... and they were either ES or LX with spoiler and no rear-a/c. 1. My concern is - if I had a transmission cooler, would that affect the warranty ? I ... Read More

Hi, all, My wife and I have a 1992 Mazda Protege LX with 156K miles on it. It would probably make it to the 200K mark, but our family has grown with the addition of our first child. This dictates the purchase of a new vehicle since while the baby is small, all the accessories are not (stroller, pac n play, etc). Our other car is a 1997 Honda Accord. We ... Read More

  • For heaven's sake, Rutger!

Rutger, Lord, you need to chill out. The MPV is a great car. IF you paid, say, $3,000 less for it than you would have for a Sienna, that's about $60/month in payments (on a 5-year loan, assuming that you don't have a special financing deal)--and I don't believe for a minute that you can buy a comparably equipped Sienna for less than $4 to 5,000 more, so this is a ... • Mazda MPV 2001 - Vibration

Written by: turboplex on Apr 9, 2001 11:48:10 AM

I was a mini-van owner prior to 1997. I bought a car in 1997 and I am now considering going back to a mini-van. To me, the MPV offers the best package. I did 3x road tests recently (3x different new 2001 MPV vans) and on every occasion I truly felt a small vibration in the steering column, almost as if the engine was struggling on the highway. Have any 2001 ... Read More

  • MPV Engine

I've had a couple of Contours with Duratecs, including my current SVT Contour (200 HP 2.5L Duratec.) This is a Ford designed engine. Any Mazda sales person who tells you otherwise is lying to you because he fears your dislike of domestic engines. The engine was designed for the CDW-27 platform by Ford. The cars we've seen from that platform are in order, the Ford Mondeo (Europe only), the Ford Contour/Mercury ... Read More

  • Talk me into Mazda MPV buy

Written by: gungadin_ on Dec 13, 2000 9:15:14 PM

Hi, I'm looking to buy either a Mazda MPV, Tribute or Ford Excape. I was leaning towards a MPV however this board has been giving me serious doubts. 1. Gas milage of 15 is'nt making me too happy 2. The leaning towards one direction concerns me. 3. Seems to be a lot of 1997 and 2000 used ones for sale. No 1998-1999's at all. Are these used ones returns from people ... Read More
