Where's the catch?

2019 Mazda 3
It is hard to find a true bargain in life. Most of the times, things you thought would be bargains are in fact, slightly rubbish. Therefore, when something seems to be a bargain, there is usually a catch. The new Mazda 3 is a rare thing : it is a bargain. Well, there are a few things wrong with this car. Visibility is, at best, ''rather poor'', to put it gently. Cargo space is also a … bit limited for the segment. And I am strugling to find more things wrong with this car. Anyway, the poor visibility is almost a non issue when you start looking at this car. It truly is amazing looking. It is not ''good looking for the segment'', it looks amazing in its own right. And the best thing is that the interior is just as good. It looks italian and feels like german built quality, which is kind of best of both worlds. Anyway, about the cargo space, if you are looking at that kind of car, you clearly are not shopping for a minivan, aren't you? What about reliability? I have a 2.0l manual GX hatchback, and nothing went wrong. It's also fairly simple mechanicaly, since it has a naturally aspirated carry over engine and should be rather reliable in the future as well. The suspension is effective but actually fairly simple, and there is a lot of working room in the engine bay. That means that owner maintenance is fairly accessible (looking at you, VW). Oh, and the manual transmission is sublime. The clutch is very well weighted and the shifts are precise and quick. What does set it appart is mainly the way it drives. It drives amazingly well. It manages to be comfortable and sporty at the same time. It is incredibly quiet at highway speeds for a car of this class as well. The seats are also very comfortable. So where is the catch? It drives even better than a german car, looks as good as an italian car, but here is the cherry on top of the cake : it was built by the Japanese. It's also practical and very well priced. That is the good thing about this car : there is no catch.
