  OK. The previous discussion helped me solve the problem. It was the solenoid mounted on the steering pump that controls how much hydraulic fluid gets to the fan motor. I replaced the steering pump with the solenoid mounted on it. It solve the problem. The fan now runs normal.   I was curious for some opinions on a car I am thinking about buying. The Lexus dealer is offering a 1994 ES 300 with 68000 miles for $12000. I have talked the dealer down to $10500 out the door. Is this an alright deal? Also, if I decide to buy this would it be wise to get a 2year/24000mile warranty for $2000. Thanks for the input.

  Well my mom just received her new 2002 ES 300 (mystic sea opal/ivory) and I bought her 1994 ES 300 for my wife. It had only 30,000 miles on it and not a scratch, always Lexus dealer maintained. Well now that me wife drives it, she seems to feel that the brakes could be more responsive and less play in the pedal feel. I've driven it and seem to feel there ... Read More

  Having had six Lexuses in my family, I am 99% sure I will love the new ES 300. If I don't, I can get my entire $500 back at any time.   I'm currently looking for a 1994 or 1995 Lexus ES 300. Is it reasonable to assume if I look long enough I can find one with under 90,000 miles and in excellent condition for under $14,000? Is a 1993 with 104,000 miles a good deal at $9000? Does the 1994 model use the new RC-134a coolant and 1993 and older use the old freon? Should I look for any particular options ... Read More
