Will it start when the temp is warm? And, Is the CEL on when you try to start but not starting? My 1991 would start when warm, or if I put a drop light against the distributor housing for an hour. Tell-tale sign would be, when the car won't start the CEL is on, and stays on when key is turned on, but if it goes out after a few seconds ... Read More

ushy66- Most likely not. The TSX wagon is the real Accord wagon. For us here State side, we get the wonderfully awkward Crosstour. My father had a 1991 Accord wagon, which has more cargo room then the Crosstour, got better fuel economy and was actually fun to drive. What ever happened to Honda??

Having read all the posts on the rear brakes I am pretty much up to date. I have some questions ( I wish Honda would answer) but others might have some insight. 1. Why no distinction on the Accord models--no badging for the LX Ex etc. Are we all to be alike? 2. Look closely at your front rotors--Honda spent the money to paint black the area on the rotor closest ... Read More

No, I'm not a salesman (of any brand). I am just an owner, of two Accords since 1991, who has been very impressed with his cars. I have driven many other brands, before and since, but they don't measure up imo. If that makes me a "fan", so be it.
I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I cannot locate the forum. Has anyone else noticed how high the Rpms are at highway speed? At 60 mph my engine speed is well over 2000 RPM. On a different topic, I had an interesting experience with my 1991 Accord. 91 may have been the only year where they had the seatbelts that opened when the car door opened, and automatically slid over and closed on you when you got in and closed the door. My suggestion would be to look up the parts you need at one of the 2 bigger muffler manufacturers. www.maremont.com or www.walkerexhaust.com Both will have online catalogs showing the parts you need. Here's a good example of 8000 rpm and 300K miles co-existing on an original (1991) engine. This is currently a daily driver. And if you happen to be in Dallas-Ft Worth Area, an Acura dealership has an on-display car with over 700K miles to go with 8000 rpm. The stat isn't based on volume, but based on per 100 cars (I think). That said, not all thefts may be for parts, but that can be assumed for most cases. It was beginning of a new era that has led to ... Read More

Actually, it is the late model Honda's that are on the most stolen list. Honda's are most likely stolen because their parts are needed in the tuner market. 1. 1995 Honda Civic 2. 1989 Toyota Camry 3. 1991 Honda Accord 4. 1994 Dodge Caravan 5. 1994 Chevrolet C/K pickup 6. 1997 Ford F-150 7. 2003 Dodge Ram 8. 1990 Acura Integra 9. 1988 Toyota pickup 10. 1991 Nissan Sentra I doubt ... I'm sure it's not that hard to get out. I'd have to see it. The Japanese don't do stupid stuff like that. There must be something you can pull or unbolt out of the way.
ON a 91 Honda accord, only the filler neck of the reservoir is visible. The actual reservoir, motor, etc. are all below a metal shelf, which the filler neck goes through. ON the underside, it appears that all the wheel well covers are underneith. Any thought are appreciated. Jack
I haven't done it to repair a water reservoir crack, but I would try silicon caulk which is flexible or polyurethane adhesive in a caulking tube from Lowes named PL-1. It's a quick grab and dries in several minutes and sticks well to plastics.
It shouldn't be that hard to access the reservoir and pull it out. Sometimes you can epoxy the crack in the plastic jug but that's a 50-50 bet. Sometimes the leak is the gasket around the little electric pump. Best to take it out and test it in the sink.
I have a 1991 Honda Accord. Every time I fill the windshield washer Reservoir it drains all over the driveway. Either !) a hose is loose, 2) a hose is holed, 3) the Reservoir has a leak. Short of dismantling the entire car, can anyone provide direction as to what needs to be removed to get access to the Reservoir / hoses? Thanks
And for the most part its been a good car, but I still prefer the Accord over everything else in this class, especially the 06 Accord models. But you can't beat the Hyundai's value these days. The only glaring fault I have with Hyundai is the fact that you can't get a manual on anything but the GL models (that's not an issue for the MAJORITY of buyers in this class) ... Read More
I still don't think I'd buy a hybrid. The cost is just too high for the amount of gas you might save if you get the EPA mileage they are rated at. The Prius is probably the only hybrid I'd consider and only if I can get past the Toyota dealer gouging. I will not pay 25-26K for a car with an MSRP of less than 22K. The only other hybrids ...
