Lifelong car man
I purchased my 2024 Volvo S60 Core on or about 11/26/24. It was a great price for the quality of work that it represents. The technology is pretty good. Since it’s a base model I am missing the adaptive cruise control which I thought it should have. Other than that it’s a great vehicle. The 2.0 (4cyl) AWD engine with a mild hybrid battery is great! Doesn’t win any races that I’m aware of but it leaves me feeling like the engine is sufficient to accomplish whatever tasks I want to accomplish. The seats are comfortable, the leather is very nice, the legroom is really good too. It lacks the space to quickly enter and exit the car as I am a tall man of about 6’2, 270 lbs. so I have to intentional when getting in or out. The backseat is also very limited in my opinion too. With me in the drivers seat, there is only sufficient room in the backseat for a tiny child or an infant. The trunk space is mostly enough for a party of two to pack overnight bags and a pair of shoes. It’s tight in that trunk. It’s a decent ride on smooth surfaces but the moment the surface is any bit less than perfect if becomes somewhat of a loud ride (even with Michelin tires). Fuel economy is decent for a mild hybrid. I actually get the 35mpg they advertise, which is rare. It does require premium fuel. I love that I can stream my music so easily but I do have to plug in my phone for Apple CarPlay. It’s a looker too. I get compliments on it often. The pearl white paint is beautiful especially after a fresh snow and I’m pulling out of the garage in it. Overall, the 2024 Volvo S60 is a great car for commuting and daily driving or long distance driving too. The sound system could be better but again mine is a base model.

2024 S60 Plus
These are some of the biggest deals on the market. Hertz is flooding the market reducing the number of cars in their premium cars in their fleet. Just bought a 2024 s 60 Black Plus with 11,000 from a Volvo Dealer that bought a number of these car and then sold them with a Volvo certification that now takes the Volvo factory warranty from 4 yrs/50K miles, to 5 yrs unlimited miles. Mine is less than a 1 year in service, Volvo certified, and I got it for only 28K. So far other than its so technical it takes a while to figure out how to set up and get use to temp controls, radio, etc but runs smooth, looks great, and no issues.

The best LAST Volvo sedan
I drove my 2015 s60 for 112k miles (still have it). I upgraded to the 2024 after starting a long commute schedule. If you have not bought a new Volvo in a while get ready to have you mind blown. Better in every way. Better ride, more refined interior, incredible tech upgrades, better brakes, better acceleration. It’s really a totally different vehicle more luxury and refinement the is phenomenal. Get the AWD and upgrade to plus for smoother ride and improved brakes.

The last sedan
The past 2002 S60 T5 that one saved my life, 2015 S60 T5 faster than my Dads 928 - I can’t find the handling limits of that car, now S60 B5 AWD. There is no comparison the new S60 is a fortress of solitude it’s quicker with smoother acceleration the older models are crude in comparison it’s a different class. Better brakes, beetle interior, better sound system - seats are about even. More width at armrest finally, better panoramic roof. This will surprise some better mileage, yes beats the 38 mpg 2025 s60 on average it’s significantly better. What are the problem areas try to find the a/c controls on the screen. It’s heavier so if it’s hard braking at speed you feel the extra weight. Not as nimble in its feet as the 2002 or the 2015 but it’s just a more sedate ride it’s more Cadillac less Porsche than it used to be - I really really like it I’m glad I got one before it is discontinued. Seventh Volvo by the way I like the SUVs xc60/xc90 LOVE the wagons V70 but the best ride they make are sedans. Too bad they can’t sell them😜.
