Another great Volvo

First, I should acknowledge that I've driven Volvos, off and on, since 1985. Two years ago I replaced my Acura TLX with the S60 T6 Inscription, and also got an XC60 Momentum as our second car. I love both, and especially my S60. The technology is great, the ride is great, the car is great. I especially like that it's not like every other car on the road. It makes me fall in love with Volvo all over again.

2021 T6 AWD Inscription

The T6 engine has all the grunt and low end torque one would expect from its competitors at BMW or Audi. Where the S60 pulls slightly ahead of the competition is its refined and comfortable ride and its provision of calm ambience. To personify the car it is much like a sleeping jungle cat - which is awoken by a simple tap of the accelerator. I have owned my T6 Inscription for about a week and have had nothing but compliments from passengers and onlookers for its elegant, understated styling. Those who ride in the back feel like they have as much leg room as a 5-series BMW, and overtaking vehicles seems effortless and surprising due to the cars soft suspension. The double-cream that I appear to be driving on seems to be torn up behind me when I give it the goods. All-around, one of my favorite cars I’ve owned.

Great hybrid

2023 Volvo S60 Recharge T8 Ultimate Dark 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

Car rides very smoothly with lots of power. The increased electric range and power makes daily all electric driving practical. New android system takes some getting use to and surprisingly loses some nice features the old Sensus system had.

I ordered my 2023 Volvo S60 Recharge on Mar 2022, I received a called when it arrived a year later. I ordered the ultimate bright edition, in bright dusk color with maroon brown interior and the climate package. It was beautiful, my sales manager told me that many customers had already inquired about my car to purchase it, sorry that baby was mine. I had already test driven an ICE S60 prior to ordering this one so I had an idea of how it felt on the road. I have been driving it for over about four months and I absolutely love it. I have not have any issues with the car what so ever. I love all the advance features like the headlights turning as you turn, or the 360 camera that comes on automatically when you park your car, or the signal that alert you when is time to go when the car in front of you move and you are not paying, better that the car behind you honking its horn. The adaptive cruise control is better than other cars that I had, in addition to keep you in at a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you and to stop and go, it also keep you in the lane, as long as you keep one hand on the steering wheel. I also love the Google interface, because I do not have to mess with the dashboard if I need to change a station or adjust the temperature of the A/C, all I have to do is ask Google. It is just so convenient. The range of the battery is great, I am getting the advertised 41 miles. I have not purchase gas in four month that I have owned the car, I have drove it for over 1,000 miles and still have a little over half tank. Most of my driving has been in the city where I live, so I use the Pure move (electric) the majority of the time. I installed a charger at my home, so I charge at home overnight. I spent about $1,400 on the charger and labor, but received $500 rebate from the utility company. The ride is great, I which I and the choice of the 18 inch wheels instead of the 19, I think that would make the ride softer, but still very nice for a compact car. The seats are comfortable at least in the front, I have not experience the rear seats, I haven't carried any passengers. The trunk size is plenty for me, normally It is just myself travelling. This vehicle for just one person or for a couple is perfect and I highly recommended if you are considering an electric vehicle, but do not want to fully commit to electric. **Update*** I have had my car now for two years, and not a single hiccup, I still love this car, everything still works as it should, the fuel economy is superb, the comfort of the interior cabin is excellent, the quality of the materials use is so good, that is shows no signs of wear and tear, still looks and smells like new. I still get compliments for its classy and beautiful design. This is an excellent car, it met all my expectations so far.

I’ve loved owning this car. I’m averaging 75 mpg in gas so usually driving over 1,000 miles between fill-ups. If you have a shorter commute I’m sure you could do way better. I’m charging on a 120 outlet and it takes 15 hrs to charge completely, which is slower than what I thought I’d read on their website. So I typically don’t have a full charge either. The one pedal driving is awesome. The interior feels very premium and the car is extremely quiet in Pure. I really like that every door will unlock or lock the car. The Bowsers and Wilkins is good, but not sure I say exceptional or worth the price tag. I like the Google system. It’s not outstanding, but it’s responsive and generally works well. There is a lot of bad press around it, but it does everything I need it to do. A technology gripe is the instrument cluster. It’s either blank or has the Google map. I use Waze on the center screen so would love an option to have music info in the center display. Also burying the drive modes two or three touch screens deep is dumb for a company all about safety. It takes a good bit of focus away from driving to get there. And not have wireless CarPlay is a bit annoying. Final complaint, I don’t think this car tells you tire pressures? Overall, I love it and would buy again in a heartbeat.

Just completed first 1000 miles on my 2024 S60 Recharge. A lot of positives so far. Extremely comfortable, very quiet cabin, user friendly touch screen and excellent performance. Since most of my daily driving is less than 45 miles I use very little gas, currently at 156mpg for all miles driven. Cabin could use more storage spaces, but no big deal. I leased before the year ended to get the $7500 off of capitalized cost. Have the option to purchase at lease end for $31k. No additional garage wiring was required, just use standard 110 outlet and it charges overnight. If you install a 220 circuit charging is much faster. Now seven months into lease, no problems at all. MPG has been as high as 335. Recent 500 mile road trip drops that down. Transition from battery to engine is quite seamless. One additional bonus, the Vapor Gray never looks dirty..Sorry to hear Volvo dropping this model after 2025.

Best car I've ever owned!

I live in the Midwest where charging infrastructure is lacking to support EV travel. The hybrid system is ideal for this part of the country. I charge in my garage and start the day with a fresh 40+ miles every day. It's like somebody stops by by garage and puts two gallons of gas in the car every night while I'm sleeping. Seriously, I do all my local errands on battery and only use gas for distance driving. I'm retired so I don't have the daily commute and only fill up about once a month. If I need to replenish the battery I can do that on the highway without stopping to charge. The one pedal driving and regenerative brakes save lots of wear on brake pads. The seats are very comfortable and the interior is very quiet. All in all it is the best of both worlds; EV and ICE.

2023 Volvo S60 B5 AWD HIDDEN GEM

JC, 08/14/2023
2023 Volvo S60 B5 Plus Dark 4dr Sedan AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric mild hybrid 8A)

This car is beautiful inside and out! Ride is supple, stable and transmission is smooth as silk. Seats are excellent! A few things to note: The mild hybrid controls the Auto Start Stop system and it is seamless. In my older Volvo I used to disable Auto Start Stop immediately but in the 2023 is nearly invisible. NOTE: You cannot DISABLE Auto Start Stop in the new Google Infotainment System. At first, I was very worried about this but like I said--no problem at all with the Mild-Hybrid. If necessary, when you are in really heavy stop and go traffic, just put the transmission in M mode (Manual) and this will disable Auto-Start Stop system. I find the new Google Infotainment system very easy to use. Google Assistant can do almost everything with voice commands! Google Maps is in the center of the dash display--LOVE THIS! Car has optional 19 inch wheels with 235/40/19. Even with the larger wheels (which I did not want but came with the car) the suspension is still very comfortable. This car is made for luxury not sport! Superb materials throughout the car. Panoramic moonroof gives light and airy feel to interior. Harmon Kardon sound system worth the upgrade! Denim Blue/Blonde Interior is a gorgeous combination, in my opinion. The 2023 Volvo S60 is built in South Carolina. Treat yourself and go test drive the car! The PLUS trim is outstanding--leather. 360 camera, Pilot Assist, etc. GREAT CAR!

I bought my 2021 & problems with it began 2 weeks after purchase with condensation in the headlamps. The condensation didn’t remain long enough to satisfy Volvo’s standards to rate replacement so the issue continues intermittently. The problems are ongoing- issues with the anti-collision activating for no reason, not receiving notifications regarding when service is needed, the fobs not syncing, Car Play not working, seat memory not storing- too many more to list. $42,000 and countless hours at the dealership. Worst. Car. Ever. Should’ve gotten a Mercedes.

I just read that Volvo is discontinuing the S60 line in the US. I went from a BMW 550xi to this car last year and am amazed that I like driving it better than the BMW. The 550xi had a supercharged V8. The combination of the electric engine with the 4 cylinder gas engine in the Volvo is surprisingly quicker and the car is more responsive in the Polestar mode than the BMW was. The added benefit of driving in electric mode for the majority of my miles commuting to work and around town has gotten me about 70 miles to the gallon. I considered going to an all electric but am so happy I did not as I know I would have suffered from fear of the battery dying and I just like to get to where I am going, not planning on long stops. So far I have had no problems whatsoever with 18000 miles of mixed driving. The all-wheel drive is similar to other sedans. It's going to get you around in the snow most places with the right tires unless ground clearance is an issue. I took it skiing a few times this year and felt secure. The additional weight from the battery helps it to feel more secure in the snow. Overall, I am thrilled with this car. I am just a little shocked that the word did not get out and their sales have caused them to discontinue it going forward.
