Used 1994 Volvo 940 Consumer Reviews
A Beautiful Vehicle
Since its purchase, I have only had to take it to a mechanic twice. In 14 years, there were only a handful of mechanical problems. This car is set apart from those of other manufacturers because you can actually do the work yourself. The styling is simple and functional, the seats are very comfortable and the car keeps on looking brand new. I wish I had more than one.
Still Happy
Very good car. Excellent comfort.

Reliable
It is a reliable and comfortable car. The only thing I would complain is not having enough horse power.
Best Car I ever owned
Bought this car new in 1994 and am sorry I ever sold it. Kept it until it had 214,000 miles and was still going strong. I then bought another for my 16 y/o daughter who had it 4 months when some putz ran into it and the insurance company totaled it. Am now looking for yet another one as they are easy to maintain and the safest and most reliable vehicle ever made!!!
Decent car
This is an absolutely fine vehicle if you are looking for something that has high build quality and excellent reliability. This Volvo however is an incredibly bland car with absolutely no personality. I guess Volvo was trying to compete better in the US market with the 940 because it is essentially an American car disguised as Volvo, with cumbersome weight (as much as a Honda pilot SUV), rear-wheel drive, and absolutely embarrassing gas mileage (gets about the same gas mileage as my brothers v8 f-150 with a 4 cylinder engine! Around 19 mpg mixed city/highway). The car is undrivable in the snow or even a little ice. I would recommend this car to someone who doesnt necessarily enjoy driving
