Volvo 940 GL
I bought this as a used car several years ago. It has been a great car, overall. I have made some repairs, but I still think this is an above average car. It's highlights are: a great ride on the interstate, best engine in the business in terms of reliability, roomy, good gas mileage. Negatives: plain interior, low power around town, Volvo factory parts are kind of expensive. Overall, this is a first rate car.
Solid Swedish Steel
I've owned the following Volvos: two 240s; two 740s; one 780 Bertone; and two 940s. This 940 Turbo is, everything considered, the ultimate Volvo satisfaction. I never knew how much zip and fun the turbo added to the four cylinder engine until I got this 940. It is the icing on the cake of all the other admirable Volvo qualities. I've put 18K miles on it, changed the oil and filter myself every three thousand miles, and had virtually nothing to repair beyond regular maintenance things like brake pads. What a car!

Classy
This car is now 12 (almost 13) years old and people still comment on how nice it looks, and are suprised to hear that it is a '92 (they think it is newer). It is white with black trim and although I have retouched about a dozen very small dings in the paint, the overall finish is excellent. I bought this used Volvo in '99, with 86,000 miles, and it now has 140,000 and still runs great. I take it in for regular maintenance, which is costly, but the car has great pickup-and-go when needed and allows me to feel as safe as one can feel in a car.
One of a Kind
My father bought this car back in 1992 when it was new. It has proven to be one heckuva car, and it only has 92,000 miles on it, with many more to go. Acceleration is a little on the slow side, but the power of the engine is overwhelming. I still get complements on it!
Not American built
Quality and ease of use properly describe the 1992 Volvo 940 Turbo. I bought this car with 126,000 miles. It was in excellent condition and still is. A little bit of care is all that is needed. It's amazing the power of the 4 cylinder turbo. Parts may be a little expensive but the ease of replacement and the longevity of the effected repairs is well worth the price. If this were an american car it would be in the junk yard by now.
