Clunky -Awful Gas Mileage - Bad in Snow
We have had this van now for almost 2- years. We are counting down the days to get rid of it. It all started the transmission clunking since day 1 and still no fix. It also feels like it accelerates without touching the gas when it's cold. We can barely get up our hill in the snow and will not take it on road trips because the mileage is awful.
Routan
One of the best vehicles for ride and comfort I've even been in. We had a problem with the brake rotors when we first bought the van, had larger rotors installed and never had problems after 93,500 miles and still going. Good van fun to drive.

Bad engine
I bought this van used with 78,000 miles on it and had the oil engine cooler replaced last summer and now the motor was making a bad noise. Took the van to the shop and the crankshaft is going out and the van has 102,000 miles on it. I always had the oil changed on regular basis and it was never low on oil. I will never buy another Volkswagon.

Slightly clumsy
Lots of space. Many options. Hard on gas except on open road.

still going strong
We have over 61k miles with no major issues. Only problem is the brakes. My dealer replaced them at 26k miles no charge then I had to replace them at 55k miles with aftermarket cause oem rotors are crap. Other than the brakes I'm happy with my purchase. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
