Used 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Consumer Reviews
A fantastic car!
I wanted a car that performed well and gets excellent economy and I got it! Economy - 39.76 MPG over 1965.9 miles (based on miles/gallons). I couldn't be more pleased with its performance (what wonderful torque), steering, handling and ride. Fit and finish are excellent and I love its understated, elegant interior. I have DSG and I'm very pleased with it. I do wish though that there was more manual control at low speeds in Manual Mode. Overall, I think this is the best car I have owned. I traded in a 2007 BMW 328 XI.
6-spd manual TDI....Great car and value!
I have owned my TDI for 6 months and it has been great. My previous car was a Volvo T5 S40 and I must say the TDI has plenty of power. Diesels have so many benefits but they also offer great power at any speed. Always wanted a VW but didn't like the quality of the gas motors. Decided to take the leap from Volvo (longtime owner--last 4 cars were S60 and S40 turbos...well one Acura TSX in that time also) after having some quality issues. I am very impressed with the quality of materials and how the car fits together. The ride is firm and sporty. It drives like a front wheel drive version of the BMW 3 series (if only the Jetta was RWD it would be the perfect car!) Average 40- 43 mpg.

Sportwagen SE
I have driven this car for about 6,000 miles since purchase. Recorded each fill-up since purchase & getting an honest 25 mpg city & 31 mpg highway with the automatic transmission. My Sportwagen is very versatile with comfortable seating & ride. Handling is excellent with little or no sway in sharp turns or nose diving upon hard braking. White paint subject to temporary stains with some brands of gasoline. Stains do fade away
Der Wagen!
Solid ride, incredibly reliable in wintry conditions. It survived Colorado winters and now South Dakota winters are nothing to "Ulrich". Manual transmission makes it fun to drive and the ESP is a great feature. Great winter car with the heated cloth seats, heater mirrors, heated wiper nozzles. Quality materials in the interior, great room on the back seat, awesome cargo area with hidden compartments on the floor. It's a little bit sluggish between 3rd and 4th gear, but it accelerates decently when merging into highways. Good mileage for its size (about 26-27 mpg). Fills up with $40 or less and lasts us for 2 weeks in city driving. Ich liebe Ulrich der Wagen.
My third TDI and the best yet
This is our third TDI and first sedan. We still have an 05 wagon but will be trading for a new sport wagon in late spring of 09. Our 03 wagon saved my wife's life when she was T-boned and ended up upside down 100 yards down the road. Not a scratch, a very safe car.
