Big Mistake

I watched the cool commercials. I salivated when I first saw the car in person at the dealership....what a great looking car. I test drove it....wow what great pickup it had. I bought it...BIG MISTAKE. The car in a nutshell is a piece of crap. Bad electrical system, Bad 02 sensors, bad window regulators, the car is so low to the ground everything scrapes,Bad water pump, bad starter, bad battery, the door frames leak water into the cabin when it rains heavy...the list goes on. Yes it looks great. Yes it has pickup...but the reliability and the cost of things breaking and going wrong at this mileage? I smell a lemon. Don't buy it.

This is the absolute worst of piece of junk car that I have ever owned or been assosicated with. VW is in real trouble if this car is any indication of their quality level. Just about everything has broken - most things have broken multiple times. I will NEVER buy another VW. Period.

We leased our Jetta new in 2000 and are finally done with the lease.(never again)and the sorry @#! car. They are so appealing to look at but don't be fooled! Three sensors went out, drivers window fell out, both cup holders broke several times, seatbelts broke, brakes went at 22000 miles all 4 tires went before 15000 it shakes, sputters, idles funny, has stinky exhaust no room in the back seat. And VW dealerships and cuctomer relations SUCK! Buy a Honda,Toyota,or Subaru instead.

What a mistake

This vehicle was purchased new in April of 2000. It has been back to the dealership for Check Engine light service an average of 6 times per year. I have had it serviced in April, May, June and have an appointment for July of this year. My father drove a VW Bus from 1978 until 1998 and it was still in good shape when he sold it, I thought VW was a vehicle I could rely on, but that has not been my experience. I've spent over $1,000 on service so far this year. Oh, and by the way, when you take the car in for service be sure to remind the techs to check the oil; two different dealerships failed to do this when the vehicle was brought in for basic service.

2000 JETTA = Worst Car EVER! Problems since day one, it was a lemon. Within the first year i had to have the full TRANSMISSION replaced 2 times, the trunk replaced -would not shut, the two front windows replaced. After my warrantee ended the car fell apart even more: O2 sensors malfunctioning, Wheel Speed Sensors failing, etc. Most recently I took because my ABS/Traction lights flickered on, after 6 RETURN TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP in two months + $3,900 they ?fixed? my car. They had to replace the ENTIRE ABS BREAK SYSTEM, THE MASTER BREAK CYLINDER, 2 MORE WHEEL SPEED SENSORS, A Wheel ROD, and A BALL JOINT. The car rarily WORKED!
