2024 Volkswagen ID.4 Consumer Reviews

worst electric car
Poor battery performance, more than three recalls, terrible customer service, lack of conditions and chargers to use it for more than 140 miles without worries... it's a problem for any family.

ID.4S
Love this car for tooling around town. Don't need extended range. The interior on the S is functional and comfortable. I drive it in D mode exclusively. Drives and rides like my old Audi in that mode.

WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING!
I am surprised at how good the driving dynamics are!…like a giant go-cart when pushed a bit. Shockingly nimble handling for something that has the weight of an F-150 truck. Improved charging, battery pre-conditioning, more power, and incremental efficiency and range improvements. Glad I waited for 2024.

2024 id4 AWD excellent suv
Car drives very similar to our previous rav4 awd without the engine noise and has way more power . Also similar in passenger space maybe a little more leg room in rear then rav4. Slightly less storage behind the rear seats and opening is also a bit smaller. Have just over 5k miles since June and no issues other then inner fender plastic insert wasn’t seated properly so dealer popped it in. We do mostly home charging so about 30% cost to drive compared to rav4 over the 5k. No winter driving yet but expect the cost to go up to about 50% of rav4 during winter. Range driving locally is about 260 mi when using 80% charge. That dropped to 230 mi using same 80% at 70-75mph interstate trips. Overall very satisfied with the vehicle.

Pick Something Else
The ID.4 has a nice, roomy interior. That's about where the good stuff ends. The vehicle has poor sound deadening, utterly atrocious controls on the steering wheel and console, poor build quality (gaskets under the hood not seated, rear light bar retaining clips failing), crappy tires, intrusive lane keeping assist that can't read lane markers very well, and recalls that go unresolved for months.
