2024 Kia Forte
Looking to replace my 2017 Civic Sport, which my 17 year old took over, I was certain I’d just buy a new Civic. Unfortunately the new civic I test drove didn’t perform like my 2017, despite having the same drivetrain. It was also roughly 50% more expensive, so I began looking for a better value.
I eventually test drove a 2024 Kia Forte GT and was impressed. It seemed to deliver a much … better value. Time will tell if it still looks that way years from now. I’ve put nearly 7,000 miles on the Kia and really like the car so far. I have only a few things I’d change if I could:
1) The OEM tires are not something I’d purchase, detracting from the otherwise solid performance for a car in this class
2) I’d like to see a hybrid version for close to the same price —gas mileage is mildly disappointing, consistently delivering mid- to upper-20s mpg around town.
Again, minor issues in a car I consider a five star value.
