The best I have found
After having a '82 SR5 for 260,000 miles with no real problem I was looking for a new vehicle to replace it as there wasn't enough room for the family. I looked atother trucks and setled on the Tacoma 4 dr V6. Unbelivable power and a turning radius better than my old SR5. It also is the most comfortable ride for long distances I have ever driven. I do not recomend lightly, this truck is perfect.
Is there a better truck in this class?
If your looking for anything else you will lose out. This truck has it all. Power, ride, comfort, fun to drive. I've driven most of them and this is the winner and stands out above all the rest. Thanks Toyota. Great job in buliding a excellent truck.

Toyota should have called it spartan, because it's
I have a 2006 tacoma double cab. I am am avid flyfisherman in utah. It has taken me places here in utah that alot of trucks can't. This truck is almost 16 years old. I bought it in 2012. I have had to change the tires once, the heater blower motor and the air conditioner systym because the compressor siezed up. I did the replacement for both. Blower motor was extremely easy. The air conditioner not so much. Paint is starting to fade, I'm going to have it professionaly painted when I do. Hopefully olive drab. Been a great truck. In my view the tacoma is the best midsize truck by far. I'm sure some people will disagree with me. Drives like a champ and some of the places I have taken it should have been on horseback. I will buy a new truck someday but probable not for at least 10 years. I will keep this truck when I do. Probably have to be an electric truck. Hopefully toyota will offer am electric truck, because I don't trust any other automakers Hopefully this review helps you.

2006 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Manual trans 4X4
Nice truck, it has a lot of power, leveled, cold air kit, Flow master, goes like a rocket, third gear is the happy spot, you're in a truck that is a ball to drive. Hard to drive with maturity, just begs to light up Nissan, F150s and the ilk. Had to figure out how to grease the grease fittings on the u joints, okay other than you have to pull a little heat shield to get to one on the front propeller shaft (aka front drive line). Be gentle on the clutch, get on it and get off it, they made two clutches, , the L UK on mine was replaced on warranty at 30000 miles. So much power I think it just is too much for the clutch. The 06 used premium, I think it helps.

Great Buy
I have always owned Toyotas. My first was a 1986 that ended up with 276,000 mile, second a 1994 ext cab 4x4 that I sold to buy this truck. I ordered this vehicle having never driven this model because I am so loyal to Toyota. It took 6 months to arrive. I ordered a silver double cab TRD 4x4 with 6 speed manual transmission. This truck has been great so far and I love driving it.
