Great commuter car with alot of versatility for errands. Extremely functional, and even though targeted for younger consumers(IE Gen X, Y, & Zers), I have found that it works for me at 42. Nice alternative to an SUV, plus better gas mileage and it still handles in the snow. Fun to drive & both my dogs love it too!

Best Toyota yet

I purchased this car new. No major problems, only had to replace a battery and the headlamps after 5 years! Comfort is excellent on long trips, have driven 1K miles a day in it on trips. Gas mileage is also excellent. At 63 MPH have obtained better than 36 MPG, did 38.1 MPG once, no complaints here. The AWD is an excellent advantage in extreme rain drenched roads and snow. Never have been able to spin the tires. I am using Michelin Hydroedge tires, the car really handles quite well. Just keep the required maintenance up and this car will last a long time.

This little car is an awesome performer. I have put 46,000 to date with out any returns to the dealer for anything. The only complaint I have with this car is that I feel Toyota should look into using a more forgiving paint, As for the car has more paint ship down to the bare metal than for Ford Contour had after 150,000 miles. I would reccomend this car to anyone. Great Car.

I traded in a 2000 Solara (with poor access to trunk storage) for my very quick, extremely nimble, front wheel drive 2004 Matrix. I get 30-36MPG with it (5 speed manual), it's a real kick to drive, it maneuvers well, is fabulous in winter weather, and -- fully loaded including side air bags -- was less than $20,000. Great car! I love it!

I am really enjoying my new Matrix. I have driven it over 1000 miles now, in the city and on the highway and its been great. Everything that is said in the reviews is spot on, even their complaints (which arent enough to make me dislike the car.) The highway performance is better than I expected from the reviews however.
