Best Toyota in Town
I baught this car about two months ago, I have loved it ever since. The navigation system and the leather are to die for. Anyone thinking of buying this beauty one word, BUY.

fun to drive
It has been a good ride so far. About average fuel comsumption. Much better ride than my Ford Explorer.
After testing many others...
Highlander! I own my own business and could have gotten a big writeoff with a heavier SUV, but my conscious wouldn't allow me to buy a gas guzzler on the taxpayers bill. I took home and drove many SUV's, some over a weekend. The Pilot was so generic and bland inside, and the driving experience was blah, the Envoy was classy but a gas guzzler. No other SUV's in the low 30's are as well rounded as the Highlander. It's such a well made truck. I used to have a $50k GMC Envoy and this is as plush as that, but better in many other areas. This is my first Japanese car, and I think I'll stick with Toyotas from now on...
THIS IS MY SECOND ONE
I have found this vehicle to be very reliable and a pleasure to drive. This is my second one, and have had no mechanical or other problems.
Great SUV
This SUV has won my heart over any vehicle I have ever owned. The smooth, quiet ride and handling are very impressive. It's comfortable, roomy, easy to drive. Does not have that "truck" feel most SUV's have. Provides a large amount of cargo space and the seats fold down with ease. The AWD works unbelievably well in slippery/snowy conditions. Solid vehicle. The standard VSC (vehicle stability control) and traction control combined with the ABS and EBD (electronic brake force distribution) are wonderful features!
2004 Toyota Highlander
After 6 months of research, I decided to "take the plunge". I am glad I did. We got a great deal on a reliable, comfortable, safe SUV.
Great Car
I Was ready to buy the Honda CRV before test driving the Highlander. It is a little more expensive but it was much quiter and had plenty of power. The 4 cylinder engine is very powerfull. Im getting 23 to 24 MPG.
Mostly Pleased
I've owned the Highlander for a month now, and am very pleased. Great car. I don't feel I am missing out on much by opting for the 4 cyl. instead of the more expensive V-6.
Best new car I have owned
Not the cheapest SUV around but as far as I can determine, the best value. Prior to this car I wouln't look twice at an SUV--they were all disguised trucks and rode that way to prove my point. It is roomy, rides well and is not a problem to park. Three of my friends have the same car and really are totally pleased.
Competent, reliable - not much flash
If you a looking for SUV-likeness and decent space with a 3rd row (for kids on short trips) the H/L does the job extremely well, in comfort and with reliability. 3rd row is more useable when second row is slid forward slightly. Exterior is reasonably handsome - a bit plain. Interior is comfortable and nicely appointed. We compared this against the Pilot and purchased because (1) better build quality, (2) better MPG, (3) better drive feel & handling, (4) serious discounts ($5,665 off MSRP).
Toyota has done it again!
Highlander has an excellent ride and is also comfortable. Interior is well laid out and easy to use. It is full of safety features and fuel economy is good for this type of vehicle. Easy to get in and out of and as usual quality shows everywhere.
Set your sights to the Highlands
Just bought the Highlander (Limited) after researching and test driving the competitors. The only vehicle that came close in this price range was the LL Bean OutBack by Subaru. Almmost made a deal on the Subaru but it fell short on the interior room. The Highlander is Sleek and efficient and not so jazzed up to make you feel or look like your going to Las Vegas with a new Leisure suit on. This highlander is a blend of comfort, good looks, and runs like a wild Goose with the 3.3 engine, and five speed automatic trans. So far I cannot find one negative feature or discomfort. The Highlander is strong, quiet and a smooth wagon.
EXCELLENT VEHICLE!!!
This is the best family car we have owned. There is alot of room and very comfortable. The fuel efficiency is great. Best of all I love the third row seating. Overall, this vehicle is outstanding and fun to drive.
Thank God for the Net
do your research and buy at or below dealer invoice, could not be happier with this SUV
The Best
I have owned many SUVs or what they used to call 4 wheel drives from 1960 Jeeps to all types of Toyotas. This Highlander is by far the best I ever owned. I was going to buy a new one but I'm afraid with the new look for the Highlander this new one would never live up to its predecessor. I am probably wrong and I do plan to buy when my payments end.
Toyota Kluger CVX (Toyota Highlander)
I purchased as you Americans Call a Highlander and we call it a Kluger in Australia. We have a model which you dont have in the US where its identical to the limited with out the sunroof and Satellite Navigation called CVX. That is what I got. Its a very smooth ride and fabouls offroad. I have been using the vehicle at Australia's snow season at the Victorian Snow Fields. Handled snow very well!!! After that, I have travelled to Queenslands beaches. Handled well I opted for the V6 3.3l AWD modeI would only ever recommend this model. Overall a fantastic car to take the kids either to the snow or sand.
Super SUV
This is one of a car. I tested before the Pilot and I found the interior to be rather unattractive. In Highlander you feel good, the engine has confidence, controls are well designed, the finishes are perfect and you have the feeling of being in a very refined wagon.
It's a Great SUV!
This SUV was a great alternative to the more expensive Lexus 3000X model. This SUV is very dependable and is a comfortable drive for lengthy distances.
Vehicle is enjoyable!
Owning a Highlander is, so far, a good experience (at 2,500 miles). The inside contour is pleasing, and the vehicle seems to be very safety oriented. Everything about the design seems to be built with the consumer in mind. It's fun to drive, handles very well, and is fairly quiet.
Mini Me
I have drivin a Suburban for 10 years, the Highlander is like a sports car to me. It handles great and has a lot of pep. No problems at all going over the mountain pass. I have had four kids in the car, with one that is 5'6" in the third seat and they were comfortable. A 6'3" man in the back seat with plenty of leg room. Love this car!
hi highlander
I gave up a Windstar mini van..after 2 years, the highlander rides like a car and more comfortable
Excellent Crossover
This has been a joy to drive. handles very well, much better than I expect from SUVs
highlander
Awesome ride feels more like a car because its on a camry frame. Smooth ride and drive. Only fault I can find with any Toyota vehicle is that they need to update their interiors....Only choice is the light gray and tan which shows dirt too easy.
it's a cup cake
very smooth, quite engine, steering is the best and braking is ver responsive.
2004 Highlander - Fun To Drive
For an SUV, the 2004 Toyota Highlander turned out to be an eye-opening experience. Fun to drive, comfortable, not at all like a truck. The new 3rd seat, while small, is hidden away until needed for two more kids (no adults need apply for this seat). The Highlander turns on a dime and, in fact, has a tighter turning circle than my new Maxima. In short, the amazing thing about the Highlander is that it handles like a Camry but carries people and cargo like a mid-size SUV.
Go Highlander
I compared several SUV and owned a Blazer prior to this car. Toyota by far has this market. The Highlander is quiet, smooth and fun to drive. Gas mileage is very good.
Great BUy
First of all you can"t beat a Toyota for Dependability. The Highlander is fun to drive and very comfortable.
Great SUV - its a toyota !!!
I have owned this suv for about 2 months. It is the best Suv for the money. I rdes and handles like a dream and is pretty good on gas. The build quality is excellent and the controls are right where you want and need them. I should have bought one sooner and would definitely buy one again. I am not even concerned about reliability - its a given.
Highlander 04
The highlander offers a smooth ride. It drives like a car and feel extremely comfortable. I like the relative small size and easy handling. It fits well in my garage and feels lighter than any minivan alternative.
We Love It
We traded in a 2001 Avalon for the Highlander and we love it. We have the V6 Limited All Wheel Drive. Very comfortable, well engineered and quiet. The V6 is strong enough that we don't notice a difference in performance when we have 5 people in it and a load of luggage. We have owned Toyotas since 1982 and would definitley recommend the Highlander for anyone who wants a midsize SUV that has outstanding performance and value.
i lovr my car
I love the car. I bought the Limited Edition with Leather and sunroof.... it rides beautifully and the seats are comfortable. Comfort in the rear seats is quite important to me as I am a realtor and frequently drive adult passengers who must sit in the back seat.
Beautiful SUV, with the drive of a car.
The highlander is a beautiful SUV. It is stylish with all the features anyone could want. It rides like a car. Gas mileage is great. I can't wait until the hybrid is available then it would have really out did it self. Toyotas are great vehicles. And I love to drive the highlander.
Awesome
What more can I say " I Love my Toyota".
Love this SUV
I have owned the Highlander for only two weeks, I couldn't be more pleased! Since 1980 I have owned Volvos, this car is heavier and far better to handle. I purchased with it concern for traveling during snowy weather.
two year owner
we have enjoyed our 2001 Highlander for almost 50,000 miles ,other than the gas miliage it has been a enjoyable experance.
I love my Highlander!
I usually own my vehicles for a minimum of 8 years and I expect this one to go even longer. Not just because of the quality, it's a family friendly but also mom-friendly car. I love it. Plenty of horsepower to out maneuvre slow pokes on the road and still feel safe. It also looks great. The console was designed with a layout that does not require me to look to change channels, volume. It's 100% intuitive. All in all, GREAT purchase and not one second of buyer's regret.
Mackenzie the Highlander
Very comfortable and enjoyable to drive, mileage is 19 to 24 around town and 29 plus on the highway. Handles great on the Interstate and Forest Service roads. Only complaint is difficult to read odometer and clock in daylight.
lst time owner
Love this SUV, have had a Blazer and an Explorer in the past, this has the best of the two, plus decent gas milage. Do not do off the road driving, but do use the cargo space frequently. The gas milage is not as good in the city, but is great for the highway. Would buy another one tomorrow!
LIKE MY HIGHLANDER
AFTER MONTHS OF LOOKING AROUND AND RESEARCH ON YOUR WEBSITE. I FELT CONFIDENT THAT THE HIGHLANDER WAS FOR ME. I DRIVES LIKE A CAR IS EASY TO HANDLE. THE SIZE IS ALSO GOOD FOR ME NOT TOO BIG. YOUR WEBSITE IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT HELPFUL AND INFORMATIVE.
SIMPLY THE BEST
ONE OF THE BEST CARS I HAVE EVER OWNED. THE RIDE IS EXCELLENT, NICE SIZE, HANDLES WELL AND RELIABILITY IS GREAT. IT IS WELL DESIGNED, EVERYTHING IS WHERE IT SHOULD BE. JUST ALL AROUND ITS A GREAT CAR, ITS AN SUV BUT IT RIDES LIKE A CAR. ITS BIG BUT NOT TOO BIG. ITS NICE LOOKING AND ITS A TOYOTA. I HAD A RAV4 BEFORE THIS AND WANTED SOMETHING JUST A LITTLE BIGGER AND THIS IS PERFECT. I HAD A MINOR PROBLEM WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BUT THAT IS IT. WHEN I TRADE IN I'LL DEFINITELY GET ANOTHER HIGHLANDER.
I love my Highlander
Enjoyable ride. Sharp looking inside and out.We receive many compliments on the color (red). Wish we get better mpg.
Perfect Road
Although criticized for it's lack of dramatic styling this is a handsome well thought out alternative SUV for those not desiring to spend the majority of there testosterone driving around in the woods! Great smooth power and comfortable shure footed handling with tastefull understated elegance.
my high
compared to honda pilot...this is the CUV to buy.
awesome
you feel safe driving this kind of car. the best suv i've ever driven. the moment i started driving it i know it's the kind of car i was looking. highly recommended!!!
Pleased so far
We purchased our 04 Highlander new in Nov 04 after extensive research and dealing. 5000 miles later we're pleased with our decision. In addition to day to day commuting we have used it for several long trips, including one with the vehicle packed completely full of furniture. It is comfortable and stable to drive, and has performed competently under a wide range of driving and load conditions. Very versatile and capable.
2004 Highlander
As a first time Toyota buyer, I was very impressed with the Highlander. It replaced a '02 Santa Fe and cost about 60% more, but was worth it. The car is still very new, but after taking it on a cross-country cruise, I am impressed by the comfortable seats and secure ride. The Highlander handles the freeway as well as windy back country roads. Didn't take it off road yet. The only real issue I have is that the moon roof control takes too much concentration to get the glass closed properly. Otherwise, it is a fantastic vehicle, with plenty of power and secure handling. Gas mileage is poor- only 20 MPG freeway.
My Highlander
I LOVE MY TOYOTA HIGHLANDER! I previously owned a Toyota Camry and because I loved the look, performance, and dependability of my car I knew I wanted to stay with Toyota for my next vehicle. The Highlander is a larger vehicle without the bulkiness of alot of the SUV's out there. My highlander fits my style and size perfectly. I purchased my vehicle just in time for the New England winter season. I've never experienced problems in the snow or ice with my Toyota.
Loyal Toyota customer
The Highlander is my first SUV and I love it! The ride is so smooth and comfortable. It is not built as high as some other SUV's therefore it is easier to get in and out. Gas mileage is pretty good for an SUV (better than I expected). My average MPG is 20 to 21.
our first suv
We have had nothing but enjoyment with the suv the workmanship and quality are very good
