Keeping it forever
I bought this car 10 years ago. On my first long drive to Northern California , on HWY 5, I looked down at the speedometer and I was driving 105 mph. Honest officer, It felt like I was only going 60. No quivering, no shaking, no instability. Just a very smooth and confident ride at pretty high speed for this little coupe. When we first drove it home the neighbors with the big trucks laughed at the car, but when the gas shortages happened I was the one laughing . It's extremely reliable. No major repairs at all. Even though I'm shopping for a new car I won't get rid of My Echo. I just gave it a major tune up, oil change, brakejob, and changed a belt. Probably good for another 100,000 miles
Amazingly reliable
I've had this car for 4 years, just hit 72,000 miles, and love it. I've used it for everything from in-town commuting (tight turning radius and tiny spots it can fit into are key) to driving from Boston to San Fransisco nonstop (the front passenger seat makes a suprisingly comfy bed). Obviously, the 42-44mpg (highway) is great. It has more than adequate acceleration, and managed the mountains on I-80 just fine at 75-80mph (although some downshifting was needed). The best part for me is that since I do routine maintaince myself, and it hasn't needed any repairs AT ALL except for replacing a burned-out taillight bulb, it's been dirt cheap to operate.

Student's Dream
I have had nothing but good things to say about my Toyota Echo. I get excellent gas milage and with gas prices so expensive it is truly wonderful to get 42 miles to the gallon. I am a college student who wanted something affordable as well as dependable.
i love this car...
Have always enjoyed the car i hated the closeness to the ground of the other cars (i have arthritis and it hurt to get in and out of the cars) w/ the sales man showed me this one and I fell in love with the height, headroom, trunk room, and storage spaces I love the center placement for the speedometer- i dont break my back getting her in and out of the back seat. the get up and go is wonderful, i never have to worry about getting on the highway
Great But...
The Car is great but this car makes you CAR SICK easy after a while. It does NOT have a clock inside!
