Nice but confining interior
I just test drove the 2025 Crown, Platinum trim. Fully equipped, beautiful ride. But, I'm a 5'6" woman. In order for the car to see my face and me to see the head up display, I had to adjust the seat as high as it would go. And then I had to remain absolutely erect in my seat. Positioning meant the frame where the windshield meets the roof was claustrophobic-ly close to my head. Deal breaker.
Money crazy
Visited a local Toyota Dealership today. It was 2nd time looking at the Crown. We sat in it looked it over, then asked several questions to the sales person. One of which, Was something I need a clarity for. Do you need to buy a subscription plan to drive this vehicle, if a person buys it new. The reply was shocking. He said "Yes, after the first year you have to pay a subscription plan to start and use navigation on this vehicle. Cost $10 to 15 a Month. A total of $120 to 150 a year to be able to drive. After you already put down $42,000+for a new vehicle. If you plan to own this Crown vehicle for 10 more years that total would be $12,000 to 15,000 for those years if there are no yearly adjustment. To me that is a Ransom. Is Toyota so bad off they need you to pay an extra ransom price for a new vehicle. This is true and ludicrous. If you don't ask them about a subscription plan would the dealer even tell you. For this reason alone we are probably going to go with a Honda. I would love to see the US Government question Toyota on this with subscription plan. the only subscription plan anyone should have to worry about is maybe an XM music plan, but not one to be able to start/drive a vehicle. The vehicle is pretty good but people do need to know what they are getting into with subscription plans and they should start questioning them. Do your homework on this before buying it's a lot of money to run a vehicle.

Crown not as advertised
My thoughts after a brief trial run is the car lacked headroom and accessibility especially in a garage situation. Very disappointed as I thought it was the replacement for my old Touring sedan.

A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT
We own a 2019 Cadillac XT5 that my wife is reluctant to drive because of size. It is very comfortable and equipped with attractive features, few of which she appreciates. The Toyota Crown looked like a successor vehicle that my wife might like. She did not. This automobile has a nice profile which is the result of a slanting windshield and sharp rear window cant. All Crowns have a depressingly black interior with selection switches, also in black, which are not placed within easy reach of the driver. When accelerating, the turbo "howls" to a discomforting level because engine noise suppression is not adequate. I have hearing aids which were drowned out by the noise every time I accelerated on the test drive. Access by driver and passenger is restricted for average size Americans. A smaller average Japanese would have no difficulty. We have owned Toyotas before so it was easy to reject this purchase. It is not "up to snuff" using a descriptive term.
