The ideal starter car.

My parents bought me this car for my 16th birthday and it's been reliable through in and throughout. It seats four people comfortably and has HUGE trunk space. At first glance, it looks like a small car, but don't be deceived. The Corolla is hardly a monster car, but it's decent in size. The air conditioning is good if that counts at all as is the handling. It's fun to drive, but then again, I'm a teen. Driving is fun all around. The Corolla's a little noisy from the inside, but it's expected from a V4 car. All in all, you get a lot for your buck.

Like the gas mileage and power, and quiet highway driving.

Will Be Glad to Get Rid of It

I have owned this car after it had around 40,000 on it. It now has around 96,000. I am ready to throw it into the ocean. The check engine light just came on for the second time since I have owned it. The brakes are going, now. As others have mentioned, it is very unstable on the hwy during higher wind events. Have to pull over to the right and drive slow so as not to get blown into another car. The paint is chipping bad, Belts have need replacing several times. The car seems ready to die at only 96,000 miles. Sterio broke as soon as I purchased it, knobs fall off and is cheaply made.

Was great until 60K

I bought the car new in 2003 as a 2004 model. It ran great and had a great MPG in mid 30s w/ low maintenance until 60K, then everything - one by one broke down. The serpentine belt, left rear wheel, radiator and rear wheel bearing that required entire hub assembly to be replaced. The ran mostly highway in the NE. I wont be buying another Toyota for a while. It feels as it is only built to last 60K, then things break down one by one. With the Toyota recall all over the news, I am starting to wonder about the build quality. Oh, the paint chips at 30-40K miles. The noise is unacceptably high as compared to my new elantra.

I bought my 2004 Toyota Corolla Oct. 30, 2003 from Autoway Toyota. I had been in the market and everything I read about the car was very positive. My first drive I was not impressed. Then I used the rolling seat adjuster, which did help some. After having the car for a week and a half I can't get enough of it. It is so quiet, peppy, dependable, and good looking.
