Best and ONLY small car to buy!
We bought this car in June 2001 and to date, we have 37,000 miles on it with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.
Terrific car for 10K
Bought this as my first car in January. It does a great job of getting me to an from work six days a week. I love the build quality and interior fit and finish. The engine is very rev happy and the three speed auto does just fine. Interior room is just fine for two average adults with the back seat used for storage. I don't mind the so-called "plain vanilla" of the 2001 Corolla, for the simple reason that cars with "personality" (i/e the 2001 Celica) are "very ugly" and "overpriced". The dealer (Toyota of Killeen) took forever and a day (Two months) to get me a new registartion sticker for this car, but that is not Toyota's fault.
Corolla
Perfect for first time buyers and those who want a car that will get them from point A to point B. One flaw, hopelessly boring. If you like your car to have some sort of personality (I know I do) this is not the car to buy.
Not a performer
Had it for 2 years. Compare to the same year civic, civic is much better performer: transmision + handling is way better then toyota's. Well corolla is not a performer, but it gets you from point a to b.
