Poor Build Quality

Bought my Camry new and now have just over 70k miles on it. Has been religiously serviced and pampered. Issues with paint. Chips easy, rusts easy(in spots where there is no chips). Leaks through the driver side air bag when washed. Cars interior is noisy. Sounds like a ball bearing is rolling through the dash. On the passenger side it sounds as if the engine isn't even shielded and we get an airy high pitch noise coming into the cabin. Dash rattles in places. No thigh support in the seats. Have replaced several bulbs, front, rear lights etc. Dash control lights are out on a couple(I've heard of other complaints about this). All issues came about within the first couple of years.

We haven't owned a Toyota since our 1977 FJ40 purchase, one of the best vehicles we ever owned( we still have it). After the research we chose the 2005 Camry LE & have enjoyed it very much. The only problem is the speedometer is about 4 MPH off,it is 3 MPH off at lower speeds & escalates the faster you drive to as much as +5 MPH at 75 MPH. Toyota will not fix it because it is still within their specs. We feel that this is unacceptable & are trying to resolve it at this time. It doesn't look good for us at this time. Next time we buy we will take the GPS unit with us & check the speedometer before we buy.

Not a sporty car. An efficient and reliable mid-size family car. Respectable road manner, predictable handling, and quiet cabin over the road.

The car is beautiful to look at but that new computerized acceleration is for the birds! The car hesitates too much then kicks in with a jerk. Only two interior colors to choose from.
